  1. That should all be fine. The 1MZ--FE is a pretty hardy engine. 10W-40 would be my pick. I have a personal preference of Penrite.
  2. It is not in the best interest of the forums. Facebook has actually done damage to the traffic on a lot of the forums out there. There is a Toyota Owners Club of Australia page; however, it doesn't see a lot of traffic.
  3. Isopropyl alcohol is not really designed for the purpose you are using it for and is obviously too harsh. It will likely dry the plastics out as well, as they are petroleum based. I use Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer, doesn't leave a residue and smells pretty good too. http://www.meguiars.com.au/interior-care/quik-interior-detailer/ There are plenty of other excellent products on the market though.
  4. I would start thinking about using a 20W-50 oil given the kilometres. It's around 3.6L.
  5. Keep in mind that you're not going to find everything on your doorstep.
  6. Did you use the same device in both sockets?
  7. Give it a good flush and keep an eye on it. Are you in a high dust area?
  8. From where? Just get a cheapy off eBay.
  9. Sadly this is becoming more and more common. I take it that you didn't do a lot of research on the 2GR-FE then?
  10. Taking it to Toyota is pretty much the only way.
  11. It should be remote central locking. I would say the remote(s) have been either lost of broken at some stage and the previous owner hasn't bothered replacing them. Yes you can buy new ones, but they will need to be coded. From memory there are few guides around that will direct you how to do so.
  12. A blow dryer and heat gun(used carefully), some dental floss and some wax and grease remover may come in handy.
  13. There are a few other MR2 based clubs around that may be worth trying as well. MR2 Australia and MR2OC.
  14. They have no choice, they are forced to comply with ANCAP safety requirements in order for most to buy them.
  15. Drop it out the bottom on the subframe. That's how were installed in the factory.
