did my response not help you at all willy?

my personal fav drift cars are beau yates' ae86 and the v8 300zx.

yeah it did thanks i just cbf scrolling up and clicking reply on your post :)

If you cbf then you seriously got to stop creating threads like this. We already have one here call stupid thread.

If you would have learnt something by now other than why V8s don't drift and having gt stripes is a no no for a ZRE is to post at appropriate places so as to not get flamed or have personal nasty remarks made towards you. Undoubtedly, we have more mods wannabe than we do members who don't take lightly to "stupid" questions so I suggest using those filters of yours call a brain and think a few times before posting.

I'm just sick seeing personal attacked been thrown at each other. Its like watching nuclear weapons cross paths in the sky intending for the launching countries.

*shakes head*

Just a hint of advise so take away what you will and with a grain of salt.

Just my 2 cents. Cheers.

P.S. There is a program here aired by Channel 31 (which is a learning tv station by RMIT Uni) call RPM or something that featured a CommonWhore drifting in South Aus. Pretty cool and that was my first time seeing it. None the less, it was a drifting feature that episode .....

how is this question stupid? i think its quite valid and its posted in club lounge iits not like i asked this in buy and sell. also why are u bring up old stuff that isnt realted to this thread? and if ure sick of seeing persoanl attacks being thrown you should try and stop throwing them.

Club Lounge

The club lounge is for members who wish to chat about anything.

The one person that is half backing you and you go and flame them... nice one.

How about you make one thread in Club Lounge called Ascendant justice. Then whatever questions you want to ask can be posted there, rather than billions of threads!

becasue thats the ame of my other thread

i am also getting a little tired of the masses of posts, threads with no thought.

This is supposed to be a place where information is shared, and yes your question is valid... but why cant you use Google mate?

google will give you thousands upon thousands of results for your questions, and they wont sling mud in your face for being a n00b

pretty soon, people are gonna stop answering your questions, or even opening your threads, and your gonna wonder why.... just a heads up.

One more thing..... The Club lounge is great for talking about topics that you think other people might find interesting. Not for showing your ***** while you try and shuffle. Get a myspace page, or write a blog, you can get emo in, or promote yourself, whatever it is your trying to achieve.

Dont forget, this is a car club.

I would have to agree with BKS here. Not trying to be mean or anything, but it's just more appropriate in some cases. MySpace and Blogger are a good place to start.

Yes this is the club lounge where you can talk about anything, but usually when making a post, one would think first about the audience that it is going to reach. This audience consists of people that are into cars and being a forum that discusses cars in every other thread, you would think that topics along the lines of an individual's personal life wouldn't gain as much popularity.

If you ask a question about V8's and drifting, of course you will get some worthless answers in return. I would have just opened Google and read up about the two if I didn't already know how it all worked. Your question if you absolutely had to ask it would have been suited to the 'Stupid Question Thread'. It only really needed one true answer.

This thread as Epic Fail all over it!

Drifting is say the figure skating of the motoring world...the quickest way around a corner is not to go sideways (dong but to use the racing line and also a v8 supercar would be an absolute pain in the ***** to hold sideway especially since they run slicks. With slicks you feel tends of grip but you get no feeling when you loose grip like you would with street tyres.

v8 super cabs dont have that muchpower i mean robie bordger or wat ever his name is had like 900+hp in a como and v8 SC only have like 600+hp but yeah not fastest way around a corner n it would make it like nascar with that many cars drifting as once (multiple car smashes gotta lovem)

Funny how you say they don't have much power when they have as much or more than just about every road-going supercar ever made, including the vaunted McLaren F1. And as far as race-cars go, they have less than an Formula 1, Indy and NASCAR, but more than DTM, GP2, and many others. So _only_ 600HP, but remember they're limited to 5.0L, N/A, RWD etc. Plus they only weigh 1350kg, have 10" wide tyres and fully adjustable suspension, so chances are they'd be quicker around a track than a road car with much more power. It's not about max power, it's about power-to-weight and handling. Wow, some guy made a Commodore that has 900HP on a dyno. How well does it go around a track not sideways? There is such a thing as TOO much power (note how the Veyron is SLOWER around the Top Gear test track than a Caterham RS500, which has about a quarter of the power.....)

And since when do NASCARs drift? They run on ovals primarily for crying out loud. They DRAFT, you idiot. Slipstream. Efficiency. Aerodynamics. They don't drift. They _do_ slide when they get whacked in an accident, but that isn't deliberate, nor are they using that as a technique to go around a corner.

i really cant believe you wonder why ppl bag you and pay you out............it should have definently gone in stupid thread section.........its the type of question you would ask yourself (IN YOUR OWN HEAD) and about 10 to 15 sec you would have the answer for yourself..........things like suspension, purpose of event (racing / time) setup of cars etc and the answer would come to you............yes they could drift the cars if they wanted to .......as stupid as it would be as times would go through the roof etc.......... before you ask a questions do a little of your own research......

Forgot to mention WRC as well. They are limited to 340-odd HP, similar weight to a V8 Supercar (1230kg, I think both those weights are throwbacks to the Group A era, which both WRC and V8s emerged from), yet they are absolutely lightning fast (gearing helps, as does traction). When you think about it, they don't have THAT much more power than a bog-standard STi or EvoX, not much more weight, yet a tonne more speed.

Thats what I was about to say as well, you are all saying that sideways is the slowest way around a corner, yeah on tarmac maybe, get out on the dirt and have some real fun. If you arent sliding, you're not trying hard enough.

And you are correct as well, the WRC's are HP restricted, but they have so much torque its not funny (600nm+)

Slipstreaming should not be a sport. I question the level of skill required in Nascar - I reckon any monkey with a helmet could stand in a wind tunnel and consider themselves qualified to drive in Nascar.

0 - Here is my depiction of a Nascar course... not much wheel turning/clever braking/double pedal trickery on that course, I suspect...

pretty soon, people are gonna stop answering your questions, or even opening your threads, and your gonna wonder why.... just a heads up.

 No they won't... just like your engine, its continuous small bursts of flame that keep this place running.

i think it is unfair that you call him an idiot when you are the one who obviously can't read.

he is saying that NASCAR has multiple smashes and alot more than v8 supercars.

therefore v8 supercars drifting would cause alot more crashes than the normal race.

although in drifting there are only 2 cars allowed in a battle, if the whole grid was racing to the finish and having to drift around every cornor you would see a hell of alot more crashes.

On that same logic, if you have little red lines that come up on screen when you spell a word incorrectly, why do you consistently write bad?

I'm not blaming you per se, but perhaps Hiro wouldn't have rode his high horse if you had made it clear what you actually meant - rather than throwing a million words together...
