Hi all, I was wondering who on here has done an unusual/crazy engine transplant. I would like to do a 1G-GTE from a GA70 Supra into an RT142 Corona.

Just trying to gather personal experience info.

Thanx.

I have not personally done any (Except helped with an I4 to V6 swap in a Camry), but I;ve seen a lot. My friend right now is swapping in a 3SGTE into his AE86. I know another guy that swapped a 3SGTE into a Mk1 MR2, 3VZ V6 into an early 90's Celica, and just a lot of nice swaps into older Corolla's. I go to many Old School car shows.

Was driving out west yesterday and spotted a jacked up Hilux 4 Runner spinning wheels out of the servo, running a V8 and sounded blown, awesome noise haha...

I know of quite a few 1jz-gte swaps into ra23/28 celicas, also a few 2jz-gte's done as well. 1g-gze/gte & 3t-gte in ta22/ra23 celicas. 1uz-fe into a ma70 supra, also into a mx83 cressida with sprintex supercharger, but the wildest I have seen so far is a 1uz-fe fitted to a st-185 celica which is now rwd with twin turbos.

I see that and raise you a TA22 Celica with R33 running gear, AWD and a 1UZ-FE.

The weirdest I've heard of was a 302 Windsor (Ford 4.9L V8) into a Hyundai Excel. The owner apparently was a wrecker specialising in Ford and Hyundais. There was also a Turbo or two bolted on for good measure and it had been converted to rear wheel drive

Nice one watch the head gasket needs head to be torqued down at higher than stock torque to prevent head gasket failure

My mate is a 7M GTE worshipper

I've been watching that build on Toymods for a while now. Awesome piece of fabrication. The 1uz was a good enough idea but the GTR running gear is just spastic. Shame he couldn't have kept it pure and had a suitable Toyota AWD setup. Could be a bit impossible using GT4 subframes and driveline and mounting the 1uz east west

Take a look on Toymods and you'll find 1G conversions into Coronas and Celicas are extremely common and heavily covered, so you shouldn't be short on information/assistance at all.

The GTR driveline is a lot stronger than the GT4 driveline, which is why I think he went with it.
