erm dude... You can't exactly compare dyno sheets from different dynomometers as there is a discrepancy of up to 10%. Not to mention the temperature and atmospheric pressures that plays a role on the readings. You say which cars make less power than your car ect, hell my car make 63.4wkw; 20+wkw less than yours but it'll be interested how we go on a race track, with me 200kg+ less..

Agree with you, what the heck am I doing? Trying to compare with people to make me happy, that is not correct altitude..

Your car is a classic, AE92

At the end of day, power is not as important as technique on race track. You, being a track slut will understand more than me on that. I would like to race with you. However, we seperate too far away..

My next track day is 2 weeks later, have done all sort of studies already, memorizing each corner speed, braking point, expecting 1:18-1:19

My car on Central Coast, Sydney

Police checking for a AE92 in Wollomoloo near Kings Cross, most p platers with old cars cannot escape

This AE92, every stock, no CAI, no exhaust, wheel cover only.. dun know what the heck the police are doing with this car. It is black top though, not sure if it is a fake black top

New track record (PB) : 1:17.7 , 2.4 seconds faster than my last track day

http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?23/07/2011.WAKE.S3.Y

This is on my RE002 tires, not semi-slicks

As a guideline for laptimes by top driver here https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=tADXtWYMAmoUeQu0VP6yGKQ#gid=0 , mine is very competitive

Warren Luff is a famous Australian racing driver

I am only 2.5 seconds off from a Golf GTI driven by him, so it is really rewarding

My average time is around top 1:17 to 1:18.5

Also saw another member (Jesse Attwell) driving a 2007 black ZRE152 sedan on 1:18

He got unchip on his car, Enkei RPF1, header, intake, exhaust.. need to find his name here

Can anyone help to dig this guy out

His unichip is ordered from US as well, same as my one, but it works on his car, not my car

I have ordered unichip before, that means it only works with the old ZRE.. WTF toyota has changed to the ECU...

I could not go any faster (I am sure I am on the limit) unless I add a rear sway bar, the car is understeered now after adding a struct brace.. My light weight wheel is on the way now, this should take 0.5 seconds off from the record

Also, I do often stuck in changing from 2 to 3 gear, or 3 to 2 gear... there is no short shift for ZRE.. changing gear in high G force is not easy.. I have one occassion I changed from 2 to 5 instead of 2 to 3

Struct brace reduce a lot of front body roll compare to my last track day

Track temperature is very cold and after the bloody rain, the track was slippery in the morning, otherwise faster time

This is my second time to track day only.. It proves to me that computer games help 80% to put up a very good lap times

Photos will be uploaded later

I also got caught speeding by the police when going to Wakefield this morning, $375 4 dermit points.. i only have 3 points left now, I have to be very careful now

Ben mate what does the uni chip do exactly?

if u got intake + header + catback, it will adjust the ecu to take advantage of the mods, mostly the air to fuel ratio and ignition timing, 3-5kw increase is expected from the wheels.. It also adjust the engine to use 98 petrol

They are useless on stock engine

it is a plug and play device, installation time is 10 minutes

It is not working on my car, proves to work in 2007 ZRE

Yes PB, found this spreadsheet driven by V8 supercar driver Warren Luff

https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=tADXtWYMAmoUeQu0VP6yGKQ#gid=0

Not sure whether the car is in stock

Aurion - 16.11 (this is good news)

Golf GT - 1:15.29

Civic Type R - 1:14.49

Mazda 2 - 1:19.2 (wow)

so mine is 1:17.7, really quite competitive if I compare to the top drivers lap time

I am quite sure i have pushed the car to the very limit, based on my computer game experience. unless i fix the understeer, i cannot go faster

interesting!!! how is it installed?

disconnect the factory ECU near the fuse box, and connect the unchip harness to it, gurantee even a dumb can do it, bloody simple. if you interested, i can give it to u, it is useless to me

I got all the ECU mapping for it

Not sure if it is hot enough, looking for wheel cap because the drive shaft at the front comes out, the default wheel cap does not fit

Man those tyre walls are MASSIVE!! lol 225/65/17?

205/55/16, looks better in the flesh, looks like a track car, not a show pony :whistling: :D

Ben get some spacers asap! Will definitely give it a better stance and also a wider track for better handling!

Posted (edited)

Only if they are hubcentric spacers, slip-on spacers are illegal and dangerous: they don't evenly distribute the load of the wheel to the studs like hubcentric ones do.

On-topic: Nice wheels!

I have been thinking about it... do you think it will have disadvantages, like putting extra stress on the wheels that can break something else? as you know, my car is more for track than show pony (also day to day driving).. what brand do you recommend? can you send me some link in ebay? if so, 10mm is the way to go. My current wheel is offest 45(because they don't do offset 35)

I have found this http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?395021-Spacers-Disadvantages talking about the disadvantages

205/55 R16

Sorry, folks, I am one of the weirld animal that runs 16. Looks not as hot as 17 or 18

Look up Project Kics. They do a 10mm hub centric bolt-on spacer. :)

(You may need to buy the hub centric rings separately depending on the sets you find..)
