Anyone interested in HID group buy?

Im looking to a set with 12 months warranty for 60 bux and they come with a pair of 4 led t10 parkers. Hoping to get about 10 ppl and I can get the overall price down. Let me know guys!

You can get a slimline HID kit here in Melbourne for $40 pick up or $55 shipped national wide. I know the guy since i bought my kit from him.

btw do the cheapies on ebay have warranty?

pretty sure they do.. but just depends if you want to go thru the hassle of sending it back

He won't have some temp and bulb shape in stock so he may have to order them in but most common ones are there.

We can get the lowest price If we buy the ballast & HID bulb separately.

Here is just an example that I pick from ebay.

Each 35W Slim Ballast for $8.87 x 2 = $17.74 delivered with 14 days warranty.

also another guy in western suburbs sells xenon xtreme hids. i think its like 70 bucks a pair.

got mine from him bout year and a half ago still going strong.

Sending the HID kit or faulty part back is not fun at all especially with the expensive shipping rate in Aus.

So since you sell AC ballast. Tell me this. How do you earth an AC ballast?

The output is AC, not the input. You can still ground the negative lead as per normal. Where the AC comes into play is in how it operates the HID lamp. Instead of the electric arc inside the lamp "moving in one direction" in a DC setup, the arc is formed by AC current. This in turn results in equal deposits on each electrode and essentially can lead to longer lamp life.

That said, a lot of people try to grab your attention by saying that their ballasts/lamps are AC and others are DC. Fact of the matter is, a lot of the kits are in fact AC, despite what others try to tell you. From a manufacturing perspective, it works out better for them to use AC anyway because the inverter in the ballast that produces the high voltage required for the lamp naturally outputs AC. Changing this to DC requires further components.

That said again, the AC produced by all these ballasts are square wave AC. It is kind of like applying DC voltage to the lamps, but because it alternates anyways, the benefits are still there.

In addition to that, true DC power is applied to the lamps in two stages. The first is at the ignition phase where a DC voltage of about 23kV is used to establish the arc (made possible with the use of Xenon in the lamp) and then for the first 16ms or so during warm up.

Thanks for that Daryl. So the only way to really know if you have a AC HID kit is if it says on the Ballast itself?

      2011 Land Cruiser 1VD-FTV Engine Won't Start After Overhaul

      Hi everyone, I have a 2011 Land Cruiser VDJ200 with a 1VD-FTV engine. I recently had the engine fully overhauled due to a blown head gasket. However, after the overhaul, the engine is not starting. It only cranks but doesn't fire. I've checked the following DTC codes: Internal memory EEPROM error Low rail pressure The actual rail pressure data shows: 240 bar during cranking 61 bar when ignition is off Based on these findings, I suspect the following potential causes: =Defective Diesel High-Pressure Pump =Leaking Piezoelectric Injectors =Diesel Fuel Bypassing to the DPF Circuit =Faulty Injector Drivers I'm hoping for some expert advice to help diagnose and resolve this problem I'm seeking expert advice on how to troubleshoot and resolve this issue.       Hey guys, I’m wanting to disconnect my current winch, lightbar and UHF as I have new plans. I’ve installed a winch previously on another car so I get it’s a case of following the cables and disconnecting from the battery, etc but but safety wise, should I start by disconnecting the battery so the cables aren’t live orrrr? And if so how do it go this haha?

      Snapping wheel and axle studs

      Put a set of standard wheels on it and your problem will disappear. It is critical that the hole in the wheel centre is a snug fit on the axle boss (without wheel nuts fitted). If your wheels are sloppy on the axle boss this allows excess force on your wheel studs and they will break, as yours are doing. If you are unsure of what to do, go to a reputable tyre shop and get assistance.

      2zz idle / roughness when accelerating past 3k

      Hey everyone was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction with this issue I've been facing for a while now. My Celica's idle will drop down to almost 200rpm when stationery after hitting operating temperature. Pretty much feels like it's about to stall out but never actually does. When taking off from a set of lights it almost feels like it hesitates or is down on power and then all of a sudden it lurches forward and gets a boost in power again. Then again around 1,500-3,000rpm it feels down on power and in what I can only describe in the engine feeling scratchy. Past 3,000 rpm it gets a little boost in power again but still definitely feels down on power compared to what it used to be and still has that roughness. Note lift is also not working at the moment but I have changed the lift bolts, planning on cleaning the VVT and VVTL-i OCV's New engine mounts have been installed I changed the MAF sensor about 4 years ago albeit not OEM. After doing some research my main ideas now would be a New MAF this time OEM, TPS, IACV or Coil Packs (Changed plugs 50,000km ago) Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! :)
