out of curiosity does anyone want to attend the tampered track day on the 11th?

What is required of the car? Bonnet pins, fire extinguisher, battery triangle etc? What about CAMS license? I'm interested but a complete track day n00b

bonnet pins only required if u have an aftermarket hood. fire extinguisher is NOW a requirement (at least 1kg firmly mounted in the car within reach), secure battery, roadworthy car, helmet, long sleeve shirt and pants. closed shoes, CAMS or AASA is fine.

Hmm, would need to get the extinguisher fitted then, and I don't have any sort of CAMS license either....

It's all coming together now! Non-official activities separate to the annual meet itinerary will be on the cards Friday night, Sunday night and Monday for those that want to chill, socialise, photoshoot and have time to kill. Several options will be voiced prior or on the day depending what people feel like doing.

If you think you might be interested, either check this thread a few days prior or PM me your number. Once an activity is decided, a massive text will be sent out with details. :)

I've narrowed my search down to two options. One in the CBD (but only for 2 people) and another in Albert Park which can take up to 6, how comfortably I don't know. Both were around $60/pp/pn. Albert Park I assume would have more standing room while waiting for convoys. The Albert Park option has carparking for an extra $15pn.

To add your name to the attending list (located on the first page of this thread), post a reply saying you're coming and we'll add it on. :)

Dave, it's up to you whether you want to stay right in the city or a bit out of the city. Both have easy access to public transport if you choose to explore in your free time. Traffic, Albert Park would have slightly less. In terms of comfort, I cannot say as I haven't been to either. Have you tried looking at another place near Albert Park or Brighton closer to the beach? Would be a good view.

I went ahead and added myself to the Show & Shine list

A nice hotel I've stayed at once was the Sebel at Albert Park, it wasn't a bad price including a full buffet breakfast and secure parking underneath, but it would be just over $100 a night, so depends on whether you want to splurge or not. I'd say all of the accommodation in the vicinity would be good, but like dwee said Albert Park is a bit quieter and easier to negotiate. Sunday will be a bit of an early start though to get to Diamond Creek at 10am, but it will be worth it :)

I should be in Melbourne by around lunch time on the Friday, so if any interstaters need help/picking up from the airport etc feel free to PM and let me know, otherwise I'll meet you all for dinner! Getting very close now guys, pretty exciting :D

I'm down for the show'n'shine, won't come close to winning anything but at least the money goes to the club/event.
