Well I finally got approval for the 'Stivo. :D

Still, it will be another week or so before I get my hands on the vehicle :(

Final price was under 28K including options, dealer delivery and all the other associated crap.

Just waiting for the paperwork to be processed & the car delivered & optioned out, then handover :D

Can't wait to drive the bloody thing, but it will still be a couple of months before I can give it a good working over B)

Can you tell I'm excited

cheers

ok then let me at them hahaha

ill race them and beat them cus i already have

besides who cares what the magazines say

almost everyone on this forum has raced and beaten an SP23 before who drives a stivo

What about all the people with an sp23 who have beat Sportivo dont they count.

Ive experienced it myself.

Get this ive even raced the Mazda 3 Maxx Sport and its like this from the start the mazda takes off in front about a car thanks to the torque upto 100km/h the sportivo catches it and then yeah the corolla starts to pull away.

Thats the result of NO TORQUE

Against a car with only 104kW thats embarassing to say i have 141kw.

We did the run twice to then the guy turned off.

You guys need to wake up to reality

its only a corolla what are you expecting.

it's only a mazda, wat are YOU expecting.

are u saying your SP23 "powerhouse" should kick the RX8 as well, coz of all the torque u have?

u need to wake up to reality, too. there are different types of drivers, different cars for different purposes.

two diff types come to mind,

1) Corolla Sportivo, main plus is that its faster then the SP23

2) SP23, main plus is that its slower then the Sportivo.

also i have seen SP23's get beaten by 1zz-fe's so dont get too excited...

Hey Max,

I think u should simply use a few of the drag days that the guys have had .... for example the recent one in vic where both rolla's and mazda's headed out....

The quickest sp23 ran a 15.43 .... the quickest stivo ran a 14.8 .... the quickest mazda 3 ran a 16.37 from what i could read .....

and there were other sportivo's there which posted times around 15 e.g. 15.0 a 15.2 where as the mazda's couldnt get a sub 15.4 and the quickest one ever recorded for an sp23 is a 15.39 so u tell me which car is quicker ???????

Im only stating facts of true events forget the magazines its what happens out on the track .... as there is no way a car which is claimed by the magazines to do 0-100 in 8.4 will do a sub 15sec 1/4 as has been proven ......

cheers

Bill

If max has a Stivo and lost to a normal Mazda 3 he needs to call a driving instructor ASAP and learn how to drive a Manual. I sorta raced one last night and my *** it was SOOOOO easy.

But most likely he is a SP23 owner troll who has never driven or raced a stivo:)

And if a sportivo is just a corolla then a SP23 is just a Mazda 323. Honestly whats the big difference!!??

Dunno ... I've never compared a 4cyl with no torque with a V8 with no torque :)

as much as a commodore fan i am, id have to agree

commies and fords torque compared to some of the v8s on the market are only very little

but quite often slightly quicker , same story really when comparing stivos to sp23

Thanks xGSiR for the welcome,

I ended up paying $27,500 on the road inc. Alarm upgrade and mats.

It was invoiced mid november, so I think a good price at the time (compared to prices I see people now getting - $25k). It is the endless circle - when do you get on, as the price may always drop, but you may also miss out.

I am happy, just taking it easy till the 2000km's mark before I start giving it some. My other car is a HSV Clubsport, but too dam expensive to run. I like the car, just needs a little more - lowered, window tint.

When/where is the monthly meet?

Hey evl 50a - I am out Penrith way.

Hey congrats on the purchase, come to the monthly meet next time and meet other Corolla owners.

How much did you purchase your car for by the way?

Are you saying thisa corolla can keep with a rx8

And also ive told what im expecting Sp23 is a little bit quicker than a sportivo

but slower than a Clio Sport/GTI 180

if you do you have no idea
