after seeing Tom's effort i decided to have a bash at it myself. So over the weekend i made the dash mount for the LCD putting it where the CD Player normally goes.

these are the guts out of the LCD.

here is the case of the LCD being put in place ready to start the process.

The plastic work you've done to make it fit is very very good. But, due to the size of the screen, it doesn't look factory. I wouldn't go as far to say cheap and nasty, but I don't know if I'd do it.

Still, kudos to you. I'd be working hard to make it look as good as that if I did it.

yeah looks crap - mine's better :P

nah man that looks tops.. like people have said, not a factory look, but a VERY clean effort... mine doesnt look anywhere near as neat as that :(

northy and i have been battling it out all weekend to make our respective screen mounts.. i just got a new screen.. we've gone in different directions so be sure to check out my carputer page for my effort when its done...

just outta curiousity, did you use the original parts from your car to attach the lcd or did you buy an extra 1 just incase you want to revert back to stock?

Northy the screen is very lovely, but is there any information on the box that's contolling all the goodies?

That Asus box looks pretty nice Corey. I've been looking at cubes and they are all too bulky for where I want to stash the thing, I have contemplated doing an MDF install, but realised it was too much of a pain in the *****. Nice compromise. :)
