Who is the moderator of this Forum Section?

As there are people requiring things to be sticky and nothing happens?

Please explain dear moderator? love to know your name?

Posted

No one has ever taken up the role.

Happy to pin things for you, just PM me with the details ;)

Just look up the role of who is moderator, is stated the following: CAP, micky_tee, M_M and saiya does anyone know who these people are, I have not seen one of them reply to a topic or comment from a moderators point view?

Without jumper to take the position I'm am a moderator at another web site.

I'm will to help out here if no one have any of objections, anyway I'm willing to put my hand up, is there anyone else willing to be moderator speak now?

Let have show of hands of who your want to be a moderator running this forum section, a piece of mind is well worth saying now, or forever hold you peace.

I read this forum every day to find something was mention weeks ago, and noone have put up a sticky to cover this topic.

Can everyone reply on this matter please.

The Aurion section was virtually nonexistent 3-6 months ago. Nobody was posting regularly about Aurions until then. There is not a designated moderator for every section, moderators cover the whole forum. I doubt the Aurion section is big enough yet to have its own moderator. You don't know the moderators because 1) 90% of forum traffic is in the Corolla section 2) you haven't been around long enough 3) you must only read the Aurion section because a lot of moderation has happened recently in the general section.

People posting the same topic over and over again? Get used to it... Every week some idiot n00b posts about "CAI" or "Eyelids" in the Corolla section. These issues have been pinned millions of times and people still do not look. The procedure to contact a moderator is to hit the "report" button and a PM is sent to every moderator, one of them comes to the topic and removes it if it's been covered before. Same deal if you want something pinned, use the report button and it sends a PM to all of them.

Aurion drivers need to start using the members ride section because a lot of what happens in here is "New Member, pics of my car", or "My ZR6" etc... Also I have seen a lot of n00bs signing up asking "Best price on vehicle X", to see what other deals people are getting on new cars. I say do the deal yourself. At the end of the day n00bs will be n00bs and ask the same questions over and over, like that ABS noise I've read about with the Aurions 3 or 4 times. Having these topics pinned doesn't really help so do not blame the moderators.

Come on guy's your members are your forum, and when they want something sticky is not you said. it is SAYING YOUR member ARE FED up of seeing the some questionS ask by noob's, and also great information is requested by members so everyone can get the information without read every topic.

IF YOU AT LEAST MAKE a sticky and ASK THE REST OF THE MEMBERS, DO NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION FOR THE NOOB'S, HE OR SHE MIGHT WONDER WHY NO ONE IS ANSWERING THERE QUESTIONS AND MIGHT FOR SOME REASON SEE THE STICKY AND SAID TO THEMSELVES GEE'S THESE PEOPLE ARE SWITCHED ON, AND I'M NOT (BEEN THE NOOB'S).

AS A MODERATOR I ALWAYS READ between the lines, and if you start somewhere the rest will follow, if you do not have ground rules you find someone will answer the noob's question so I put this back to you for not enforcing the rules in the first place, and been a moderator I would of PM the noob and said you not compliant with forum rules and your answer is to read the STICKY to find your answer.

So simply keep it simply stupid. KISS.

I can say you not policing you our forum enough, that why noob's rule!, asking the same questions.

lol I thought this is going to be about the off-topic Falcon post...

I think stickies works very well provided its given a good topic name.

Great mate, just seem to be no one here from this forum, how your day anyway?

I have absolutely no idea what you're trying to say in half of that post. That's why we have this thread and this thread... And if you're right in saying that the members are the forum, then there's a great explanation for why we also have this thread.

I already explained how things work here. The method that (I think) you are suggesting has been tried and it is NOT foolproof. There is a massive thread in the Corolla section called "PREVIOUSLY COVERED TOPICS - READ BEFORE POSTING"... Do you think the new members take any notice? They do not. They post anyway, their thread gets closed and they are told to SEARCH. That is exactly what you are suggesting is it not?? I doubt enough information has even been covered in the Aurion section to create a similar thread, prove me wrong and compile a list of links with previously covered topics just like Northy did. Click here for an example.

I give up, you win, All I'm trying to say when a member thinks something should be a sticky NO ONE TAKE ACTION, DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW.

I was not the one to start talking about noobs it was that not one read between that line and so something that needs to be a sticky, nothing happens.

If you a moderator you should have an interest in this FORUM and you would understand FORUM MEMBER NEEDS and participate and socialise with the members on the same topic's, and to have moderator from a Corolla forum has no interest is not help the members needs!!

Like Micky said, if you need something pinned or stickied, just pm us, Sorry but I can't ready every single post made.

Cheers

I am not a moderator I was just explaining how things work around here.

Nothing was stickied because nobody followed the procedure for having something stickied. You hit the report button or you PM a member directly. You can't expect a moderator to filter through every post to find when someone wants something stickied.

Note the post time, same as CAP  said pretty much the same thing

Not everything needs to be a sticky.

We have a SEARCH BUTTON. This is a forum...all posts are revivable. If you actually do want to learn about something, it is a simple matter of searching and READING. Why can no one read anymore? Seek and ye shall find...

It seems everytime somebody posts a 'how to' or solves someones problem, someone else comments on how it should be a sticky!! I appreciate the goodwill and all, but thats just being over enthusiastic.

What should it matter about the cars the moderating team drive? When someone actually gets some serious work done to their Aurion, with proven results, no doubt it will then become a feature.

Until then, and as always, the moderator's role is to keep this place clean. This forum does not have problems with lack of support for particular members/vehicles...

...it has problems with people who either refuse to read the rules, refuse to write coherently, have attitude problems, or are just simply impatient.

Danthyer gave up his moderating position because he never came on or did anything here any more, and I think E-gene should do the same.

I think you will find that all of the mods that still access the forums do a good job, just perhaps not in this section as it doesnt exactly interest many as they dont own an Aurion.

Still you have raised a good point, and as such I have started the below topic and ask that you continue the discussion in there.

Thanks!

If you want something posted then PM a moderator. Can't get much simpler than that. We will then decide if it is fit to be pinned and take appropriate action. We will not pin something that is not usefull info appropriate to that section.

You do have to remember that there is more than just this section to moderate in fact 30 sub sections in all spread between 9 moderators. This basically means we all have roughly 3 sections to cover but some of the more frequented sections require more than just one mod to moderate. Some sections are not very active so don't need much attention.

Remember we all work/study full time so we cannot be here all day every day. But there is at least one moderator on here at all times. You only have to check the bottom of the home page to see who is online(names highlighted in red or green) and shoot them a pm if you need something rectified or have a problem.

Like micky tee and some members said we cannot read every single post in every thread as we all have lives to live and cars to work on.

Hi Aurion members,

I hate to point this out but I havent seen a comment from any of you in this topic. Not sure why.

We would like to see the Aurion section more integrated with the rest of the forum. You do all realise that there are more sections to this forum, dont you? There are sections such as the Club lounge for off topic discussions, Member's Rides to show off your pride and joy, as well as the Suspension, Exhaust, and Stereo sections, just to name a few. It seems that all the Aurion members only post in the Aurion section.

What can we (the rest of the forum) do to integrate you further with us? Perhaps some of you could look at posting in THIS topic for a start.

Please Aurion members, I have opened this topic back up so post your thoughts.

Cheers.

Maybe you haven't seen any posts from us Aurion owners as we are hard working people who cannot spend every night checking the forum. I try and check every 3-4 days to catch up on what's been happening.

What can you do to integrate us further? Well lets see, give us our *** dam own section for starters. What does an aurion and avalon have in common? Yeah an engine, four wheels and one spare, a steering wheel and few other things but that's it. What's this Aurion Sportivo rubbish?

Come on, give us an identity at least.

I do venture into the club lounge area and enjoy some of the comments made, but I'm and old *****, and to be honest, feel a little out of my league when discussing issues as I don't know that much about cars. That's why I'm here, to learn some more.

Anyway have a great day all, catch in the next 3-4 days, back to work for me.

Ciao

You must have a very very busy life, but maybe a really good point about the avalon/aurion/aurion sportivo thingy(without the **** and ***).. saying in a more friendly way can bring this section further, IMO.. Good suggestion thou..

I do agree we should have a 'independent' Aurion section even though Aurion supposed to supersede Avalon, they dont resemble and Aurion is all new car with Camry DNA but comes with a big fat efficient 3.5L V6... :spiteful:

Perhasp someone who is a regular in the section be nominated as the sole Mod for now? Or at least have a trial period to see if it works out...

Cheers

Such anger.

1. There are sweet FA active avalon members - so whats the problem sharing the space? We gave the Prius its own forum - apparently 1 person actually owns a prius <_<

2. You have your own section, as listed above. Aurion Sportivo happens to be.... an Aurion. Shock horror - perhaps we should set up an Aurion Sportivo section just for them too...

3. You apparently weren't here when the random Aurion guy rocked up and made a challenge for moderator. Then again, thats probably representative of your kind... only on here when you want something from everyone else (be it mechanical advice or a moderator's badge). If you are but a fringe dweller, why should you have an exclusive section, let alone your own exclusive moderator???

As for the rest of the Aurion section... I have no gripe with you :) . Rock on!
