  1. went there about 5 years ago (i was 20yrs old :P).. sorry to say but i didn't find it that fun, maybe thats because only 4-5 of us went and i wasn't in top mood that day.. but there were plenty of people there and all seemed to have fun. It was also before they renovated, it looks much nicer now from the outside. And what Dylan said is spot on about twisties, as i live at Shellharbour i always drive up/down Jamberoo Mt. Rd when heading to Robertson (i think thats the only way i know how to get there :P), Maq Pass is safer than Jamberro Mt Rd though, slightly wider road, less chance of spearing off a cliff edge or into a ravine! but it has no less twisties so enjoy! :D And i can vouch that Kiama is a beautiful place bcus i go there pretty often (10-15min drive from home).
  2. My Tips: DRIVERS: Jenson Button Fernando Alonso TEAM: Honda F1 Team POLE: Jenson Button FASTEST LAP: Fernando Alonso (Go HONDA...go go go!! :D )
  3. Anyone knows whereabouts locally we can get Redline Gearbox oils? I am thinking of putting that in at my 50,000kms service, and for people with experience are they REALLY worth the extra $$? I have been using Castrol Syntrax 75W90 all along since my 1000km service. And anyone knows what gearbox oil Toyota uses in our C64 6 speed?
  4. Nah mate prelude & integra vtir's .... the civic's can keep dreaming hehe.. nice B) so time for some semi-slicks i guess?? group buy?? :P
  5. LOL .... your going to love this .... or actually Justin is going to love it .... The only thing i raced all nite that i beat was a v8 commodore ... My other runs were against a Evo 9, Boosted NX Coupe, 13 sec VTiR, Supra (this fella didnt run i think he broke something on the line), Series 2 or 3 RX-7 and my only victory the v8 commodore. But yeah the whole nite i didnt really run anything that was a good matchup the only things relatively close to being in my class was the NX Coupe which was running more boost than what his tyre pressure was and the vtir which was on slicks and was pretty much setup for the 1/4 so i didnt really get a crack at anything i would deem a good challenge .... The other vtir's there that night ran low 15's so this guy had some serious work done 2 his .... They Civic or Integra VtiRs Bill? Plenty of EG/EK Civics drop the 1800cc Integra VtiR/Type R motors under the hood too and they bloody fly due to the extra power/torque. And if they are Civic VtiRs low 15s passes ain't too shabby for them considering their 1600cc!
  6. Everytime i switch the aircon on, from outside i can hear a louder tapping noise.. is that what u talking about SB?
  7. i don't want to be setting the slowest 2zz times Dylan :P :P maybe i should just stick to Wakefield Park
  8. Great time Bill. I think it has all come down to the launch, no doubt about power, wack some slicks on Bill, i believe we will see 14s flat! :D Judging by the terminal speeds of 1zz = mid 130km/h as compared to 2zz = low 150km/h we can all see where the 1zz's prowess is, LIGHTER WEIGHT and that really helps with the launches. Get some semi-slicks Bill!! I want to see 14s flat!! :D :P The yanks can do it so can we!! ps. i would do it if i ain't such a crap drag racer :P
  9. The respect of those commodores who couldnt crack 16's .... Great time Dylan! Any stock auto V8s out there :P don't have to worry what the other commy owners have to say about our cars, our drag and track runs against their all mighty V8 pride don't lie, and i bet none of them except Justin had ever driven a car with a highly tuned Jap 4 cylinder engine and gearbox (not just any 4 cylinder car , i'm talking 2ZZGE, B18C, K20A, F20C equipped etc.) so really they can be forgiven for their ignorance. :P
  10. hehe.. each team performs at different levels at different tracks so i really don't know which team to pick, and judging by last years Ozzy Grand Prix, it would have to be Renault, Toyota, Ferrari and Mclaren. Honda and i think Williams had dissapointing races.. but this year the teams are very close which makes it all the more exciting! :D I'm not a big fan of this track though.. but let's wait for Friday practice but even 1st practice can be deceiving.
  11. Wouldn't it be more fun if we put tips in after the first or second practice so we can actually "gauge" how well each team is running?
  12. You saying the 1zz engine and box is worth more than the 2zz and 6speed C64??
  13. stuff all change from $8,000 This just tells us what a bargain the 2zzge equipped Corolla Sportivo is ;) $8g - engine, C64 gearbox - $5-$6g??
  14. Actually bill it was proven that s/c 1zz-fe = stock 2zz-ge we have a s/c 1zz in NSW he just doesnt join us anymore due to the above relization I had a silver (sounded supercharged) 1zz sedan zoom up beside me one afternoon on the Princess Hwy <_< had a TRD sticker on the back, i was lucky i had a passenger otherwise i would have had a go at this 1zz.. and also bcuz a Porsche Boxster that overtook me was pulled over shortly after by a cop hiding somewhere..
  15. The version 1 Clio Sport weren't that great on the straights, the Sportivo will eat them alive but the Clio Sport Cup is something to be reckoned with, with 131kw power, its power to weight ratio is in DC2 TypeR category. Oh and it has a 2000cc motor with 200nm of torque so it will punch out of corners so much quicker than a Sportivo or TypeR unless they were in the 6000+rpm zone. But then aain the Clio has a 5speed box, the Sportivo has 6 speed so take gear ratios into consideration. Btw for 25g u can also find yourself a used DC2 TypeR with around 50,000-80,000kms though, and that's also if u can sacrifice the comfort for performance. Any of the above mentioned cars will have better reliabilty than your turbo'ed Skyline. The Sportivo really is a surprise package, it will keep up or overtake most automatic V8s around at the moment (MK2 XR8, VZ SS etc.) and it uses about 8litre/100km of fuel for that sort of performance so you go figure. :)
  16. Also remember engines and drivetrains are not made equal, some will have more loss than others. ;)
  17. It still hasn't got LIFT and doesn't rev past 7000rpm :P But the 1zzfe is a pretty good engine :)
  18. Best place to learn it is on the track, sydney siders can go to wakfield park and try Turn 1 - the kink leading up to the tight right hand corner.. flat out 4th gear 165km/h at the end of the straight towards turn 1, lift off trottle mid-way through the kink (if you are brave) and you will encounter oversteer at 160km/h! ;) even if you hold throttle through the kink and jump on the brakes at the last minute to slow right down for the 80km/h turn 2, the tail moves (especially with stock suspension setup!). Turns 4 and 5 are also great right hand corners to experience a bit of tail wagging. Wakefield Park is a great little racetrack to learn the physics and experience the G-forces :)
  19. Relax, that's why they have a look, to see some real opinions, so your comments will lead to improvements in future models. But if you're revving your engine to 9000rpm and it fails, don't expect to be covered under warranty. I totally understand that....Thats not the point that im trying to get across.... How many times have we been to dealers and reported a problem that others raised on the forum and they have played dumb??? An example - Gear Selector cables, that topic was discussed for more than 3 months and yet dealers were still playing dumb, if they were on here then they should/would have known about this...That was my point I agre with NIKICH, stuff them.. i'm over getting Toyota to look at my problems a year ago. i don't agree to revving past 9000rpm though, its not a rotary or F20C :P but having the service manager tell me "the car shouldn't be revved past 6000rpm in the first place" when i complained about te gearbox and clutch, and with Toyota being incompetent enough to attempt to fix it 3 times, which was a waste of my bloody time and petrol just makes me sick, how low can they go to refuse a customer's complaint and warranty issues? Get a grip Toyota Oz.. I REALLY HOPE THESE PEOPLE ARE READING THIS THREAD!!
  20. I reckon Honda has 2 rather soft drivers racing for them this year.. well Button is consistent, he is not aggressive like Raikonen and Alonso but he is consistent and has been in the points consistently, just lacks that agressiveness to win (while Sato last year was over-aggressive :P). Button struggled so much to get past the backmarkers in Bahrain and Malaysia while Alonso, Montoya and the others got past easy. Barrichello needs a PERFECT car for him to get on the podium i think :( Honda should have used Anthony Davidson this year judging by his 3rd driver times he is pretty quick. Anyhow we will see who bags the points from now on, i am with Honda F1 Racing bagging a podium for Melbourne :)
  21. actually Webber finished 6th, in front of rosberg. my belief is that the reason they are lapping near as quick times (need to find a comparo chart), would be due more to the fact that they are using grippier tyres (ability to change tyres during race) rather than aero changes.. oh.. any1 able to watch f1 qualy on sopcast? if so, what channels? i don't have cable/sat :( oops, i thought rosberg was ahead :P wouldn't that be something if he did having to pit early! the thing with tyres are also quite true, its just a very interesting season.. will have to wait till the hot and humid Sepang to find out which teams are truly reliable, maybe Trulli and Ralf can find some form there for Toyota like last year :D
