  1. Ah, your talking about the accelerator "hold/lag" after you lift your foot off? The revs hold for a bit and then drop off? This is normal across the whole ZRE range, but it doesnt produce violent shaking, just sustained throttle for longer than one would like. Learning different foot technique can reduce or eliminate this. Installation of a CAI also seems to help reduce the effect. Again, the lag doesnt cause any shudder or shake.. Hope that helps
  2. Yep looking good Daryl, eyelids finish the front nicely.
  3. Its still under warranty, take it back to the dealer, sounds like fuel cut or ECU/MAF problems.
  4. Steve, Im with John here, take the cash and run!! You have a multitude of rims and tires that you can get for around the 3k mark. Check out YahooJapan if your so inclined for something special or do the rounds of your local wheel shops and interwebs shopping. Im sure you will come up with some awesome wheels.
  5. Whhhaa whaaaaat? Sis wont carry back headers for you? shame on her! :D
  6. I think their budget was running pretty low... I didnt like it at all, in fact, i would have left it as it was. But again, thats my opinion...
  7. you can get a TRD muffler for the Auris witch is direct fit. Castle hill would be the go for that one. Im just waiting on my WeaponR extractors from ATC, hopefully they fit with no problem. Ohh I soo hope they fit ok!! Apart from that, havent come across much else yet.
  8. Looking good as always Dre!
  9. :D Flux light install was a success, looks the biz:
  10. Prius is a good car, can reasonably quick and spacious too. I believe that toyota has even extended the battery warranty, if i remember correctly. It would be a good idea to drop into your local toyota dealer and chat to the sales manager and ask him your questions, then pop over to service and rack their brains a bit. My partner hired one a few months back and loved it!
  11. Had an hour spare the other night, knocked up a new Flux Boot space light. No more pooh off white, nice and crisp now. 10x 0.5W 6000k white flux with 37mm festoon plug in. Fits neatly into the OEM housing. 5 Watts of crisp clean white goodness. :D
  12. Like i said, quality alloy is used (high magnesium and in some case ceramic+magnesium), machining is more precise, higher labor and machining costs ect... smaller room for factories etc over there drive up prices.. rah rah... and thjose companies spend big bucks on design/testing/compliance etc. Most stuff sold here except ROH and Speedy (maybe another one or to brands) are Chinese or Taiwanese copies. Cheap cheap labor, recycled cheap alloy used in the casting blah blah blah.. and they knock them out by the thousands. Im with Private, if you wanna know no one else will roll with your rims, and you wanna stand out, bite the bullet and go for what you really want. Plus, you can use that "f@ck your fake wheels" sticker you always wanted to show.. :D
  13. thinks BGPetes new black emblem looks schmick

  14. Hiro is correct, from my purchases and dealing with them: Pro: Build quality far superior and manufactured to higher standards than Taiwanese/Chinese copies. Higher quality alloys used in the manufacture. Superior machine finish and surface finish from what i have seen. Light weight (or normally lighter than the copies). Not copies, original sharp designs. Copies can be up to or over 2kg more per wheel due to poor quality or recycled alloy. Cons: Cost, replacement of damaged rims, although not so much of an issue these days with more dealers in this country now, and the power of the interwebs. Multi piece or forged single units, really up to you and your budget or style your after. Forged single piece are usually the lightest option of all rims. Obviously there are some ultra-lights made by other-than-Jap manufacturers. Its pretty much up to your styling and pocket depth first of all.
  15. Need to see the wheelz dammit!! :) Think i would colour code the lot :) Nice finish on the paintwork BTW.
  16. Yeah the "J" (1,1.5 & 2) series motors have to be the best sounding engines ever, hands down. Period.
  17. Yeah, little rear passenger lift round that hairpin. Its quite a tight say 100-120 degree turn, and up an incline.
  18. Thanks peeps, whats really sh*tting me is the TRC system. Kicks in far to easily cutting revs when you need them, and if you turn it off it just re-instates itself over 54kpm The facelift has had this changed to full driver control on/off. Wonder if there is a way around it? You can hear this happening a few times in the vid.. not happy Jan, but still, sounds nice.
  19. Sorry should have made it a bit more clear, video please :)
