  1. How much was it mate? Also, what's the quarter panel?
  2. The other day I was driving without any music on and I noticed that when I turn my steering wheel to turn left or right, I can hear a noise like a someone turning a screw and the spring opening and close kind of sound. It sounds really scary like a spring is about to pop out of somewhere. It sounds exactly like that. MINUS the horrible dry grinding sound but you can hear the spring behind all that other noise the BMW is making.
  3. Pay day. Best feeling ever!

  4. All the cables are running on the same side (left) ALL cables. 2 RCA's, remote and power. Would this be causing it? Only reason I think that it can't be causing it would be because the fronts are hissing too and those have nothing to do with the rears/amp etc. There's no specs on this head unit like that. Though this is it: http://www.pioneer.com.au/au/products/22/121/61/DEH-6350SD/index.html
  5. Thanks mate I've already put padding around the number plate so no more vibrating from that. What sort of sound deadener should I use? What have you guys used and know what works? As for the hiss, like I've said it's not just rears but also fronts which are not plugged into anything except the head unit and it's just the stock Aurion speaker cabling. Only difference is the Pioneer head unit wiring plug.
  6. You hit the nail on the head. If I'm to spend over $40k on a sports car I want 0-100 in under 6 seconds and great handling. ORRRR maybe we can squeeze a 2GR-FSE in there :P 233kw now that's some proper power/weight going in there! One can only wish :P
  7. what's been cracking? Been a while since I've had time to check this forum out. Soon will be able to even more. Get 28 days off work woohoo

  8. Ever since installing my system I'm getting a hissing sound like 'tttssssssssssssss' from all four speakers. At first I thought that it was bad grounding from my amp because at first I could only hear hissing from the rear speakers but then I put my ear to the fronts and I can also hear hissing coming from the front speakers as well. My front speakers are still factory original and plugged into the head unit so it can't be anything to do with the amp as my fronts are also hissing. Also, my boot rattles like there is loose nails in there. It's horrible. I like to keep my music not that loud but I love the bass so I always have bass up. When I'm cruising with music pumping quietly it makes listing to music unbearable because the rattle of the boot comes into the car and it's cringe worthy to make you pull your hair out. The louder I pump up the music you can't hear the rattle because of how loud the system is but I don't want to do that all the time. lol. Suggestions on both? system setup: rear speakers are aftermarket and plugged into amp and so is sub. fronts are stocky and plugged into aftermarket head unit.
  9. Sorry for your loss mate but I can vouch for this comment. I drove my friends mums 2010 VE with barely 40K on the clock and the quality didn't feel as good as my 07 Aurion.
  10. Is there anything cheaper than this? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/dash-car-radio-Mounting-Kit-TOYOTA-CAMRY-AURION-/170705056646?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27bed07386&clk_rvr_id=289694145270 $100 is pretty steep.
  11. Finally system in and I've carpeted the parcel shelf. I've had to put spacers to fit the speakers in.
  12. Am I the only second Aurion owner to carpet their parcel shelf? I remember another thread another member here carpting theres but I can't find it

  14. Just your everyday run of the mill audioline wiring kit from JB hifi. I have to say, last time I bought the audioline wiring kit was about 4 years ago for my first car. And now buying the kit again 4 years later the cables have changed a lot. IMO way more quality than what they were 4 years ago. haha, no. No decals :P.
  15. So I go to supercheap auto to JUST buy a fuse. And I walk out with air freshener, WD40, 6X9 spacer and double sided tape :|

  16. Bought couple of spacers today. Will report back how it goes :)
  17. Sure can. Just remove those side bits first and pull up (with some force) to unclip the parcel shelf.
  18. Where from and what's the best design of spacer to put in the Aurion.
  19. Thanks mate, I can vouch for this advice. When I went to remove my parcel shelf I tried your suggestion by removing those side trims and then it was as easy as pulling up on the parcel shelf with all your strength.
  20. Finally installed my sound system into the car. It's only 50% complete at the moment though. But damn it pumps good.
  21. So I went on a shopping spree and here are the things that have been installed into the car(minus the printer): Once everything is looking good and in it's place I'll take some new photos of that.
  22. So here are my box of goodies(don't worry about the printer, I'm not putting that in the car ) http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk63/zomgunique/Car/DSCN4159.jpg So tonight I did all the wiring and stuff and when it came to installing the rear 6X9, not only are the screw holes completely different from stock they are too big(well the bottom magnet is) and you can't close the boot because those bars going across the boot hit the speakers. I thought of so many ways to go around this by getting 20MM of MDF and making the mounting thingo. But then I'm thinking how the hell is the parcel shelf going to sit back in with the speakers sticking out like that? I'm totally stumped. So I would LOVE to see pics and how you did yours. You must tell us your secret. I just went over in my head sooooo many different ways to put them in I can't decide what to do. Also, where is the best place to put this deck or can I get those things you put around to cover the gaping spaces? http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk63/zomgunique/Car/IMG_0360.jpg Please note that the whole setup is only 50% completely. All wiring is done. Only thing left is the cover the CD deck and throw in my 6X9's. And for anyone wondering. The system pumps crazy good! And IMO for anyone thinking this is easy. It's not. IMO it's very time consuming taking few hours to do. ESP when you are learning about your car as you go.: http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk63/zomgunique/Car/IMG_0359-1.jpg Also can I just say, DJKOR. Your wiring guide in the FAQ for the stock CD player made a world of difference. Huge thanks for that.
  23. 6X9's don't fit in the rear of the Aurion. Grrrrrrr
