  1. Yeah, I think Rob.C's point is valid, we should have a couple of moderators for each forum (Eg: two for Corolla, two for Camry etcetera)
  2. I started my own test last week to see how much I really can get out of a tank if I drive the car gently ( Which is hard work! ). All city driving using Shell Optimax, including driving to the meet yesterday, I've completed 200km's using just under a quarter tank. Meaning by the time I hit empty, If I continue driving the way I have I'll have done some 800km's from the 55 litre tank. Normally I average around 600km's, so what am I doing different? Rather than shifting up at around 3500 rpm as per normal, I'm shifting up at 2500rpm or less sometimes and using 5th gear from 60km/h (unless going up hills). Now my mods have given me a little more torque allowing me to do this without the engine bogging down or labouring, I'm not sure how a standard 1zz will do, but give it a try. I'll keep you posted how I finish up on this tank of fuel.
  3. My Conquest is Japan Built and comparing it to a South African built example, you also see some very subtle differences such as better sound proofing material.
  4. Well as far as I know Japan & South Africa has it as the Runx UK & Europe have it as the Corolla T-Sport North America have the Corolla XRS (Sedan) and Matrix XRS (Same mechanicals as the Corolla)
  5. I stepped into a Dealership on Saturday out of curiousity and enquired about a New Sportivo, I didn't mention anything but the salesperson immediately advised they received notice of a cease production of Corolla Sportivo's from SA, when I asked about the Sportivo's possible continued importation from Japan he simply stated he's only been informed of the cease production in SA nothing else. He also went on to say they were a little mistified about it because it's a good seller for them.

  7. Contacted F1, as I thought, they stated they're too busy and just wont be able to accomodate us at any time.
  8. Danz - I think your next car needs to be a 4x4 so you can have the satisfaction of dropping it 12 inches :D :P Anyway, going ahead with these although It'll be quite a long wait before I actually have them. But at the price it'll be worth the wait. :D
  9. So, if this work wasn't covered under warranty, how much would you be looking at for the replacement of the Syncro's seeing the gearbox has to be pulled apart for this work?

  11. Umm if no-one buys fuel I thought it would think the Petrol companies would raise their prices to recover the losses.
  12. That's a Good Idea having representation from all states.
  13. Glad u got a good resolution, let us know how the repair finishes up.
  14. Ha ha hahaha that was funny but so true!
  15. Thanks Oz_Viking. Yeah I'd be looking at less than half that, so you can see why I'm giving it serious thought.
  16. Bring it back asap, ask for the service manager and discuss. Don't wait. Never had anything like that happen at Toyota Service but been through plenty of other mechanics in the past with my other car. That lovely legal clause sign that states "Owners leave their vehicle at their own risk" covers them for everything.
  17. Don't post full Rego no's, owners might not be comfortable with that ok ;) Not me by the way
  18. :P Now just sing along with me to the same tune as "Ice Baby" "Rice, Rice baby... " Sorry E-Gene couldn't help myself :D Seriously though nice addition although I would remove the bulbs from normal side indicators on the fender.
  19. Yes, I still like them, the car does look good imho and rides and handles quite nicely. However an opportunity has presented itself for me to pick up a set of Eibachs cheap - in fact too cheap to pass over if they're the real thing. Sorry guys can't say how much and it's a once off for me only so no group buys sorry. But still considering it, it's only planning at this stage and the offer is open for me at any time so I'm in no hurry. So the Sportivo Springs ( The optional ones not the ones off the Sportivo ) are still a good thing imho. Good compromise between comfort and handling so don't not get them because I've decided I may change them after 2 1/2 years ( Just because I want my car to have the dumped look). ;)
  20. It's a real show, basically viewers who own pieces of sh!t (And I mean real sh!t boxes) write in to MTV asking to have their ride pimped. If you're the lucky viewer, your car gets completely restored and customized (pimped) by West Coast Customs. Good to watch for laughs, sometimes the outcome is real cool, most of the time it's a bit over the top, if the car is too far gone, they simply give the viewer a brand new car.
  21. Nice Wheels Eddy DISH IS GOOD ! :D Let us know how u go with your lowering
