  1. Wow, that looks fantastic!! Great work :D
  2. I picked them up from eBay I'm pretty sure. You're probably right about them not fitting :( Thanks, I've been keeping an eye on eBay but none have turned up so far, so I'm wondering whether they even exist for the newer 'rollas... I wish they would fit cos we'd get them posted over here. They're both hatches but I'd say the dimensions will be ever so slightly different :(
  3. Hey and1 - whereabouts did you get the stainless steel scuff plates from?? We are after a set for Barb's MY10 Levin SX but am guessing these won't fit.
  4. Hello all, I'm on the hunt for proper chrome Sportivo and TRD badges - I have seen Sportivo badges on people's side skirts etc so I know they exist but am having difficulty locating one. Same with a genuine chrome TRD badge, I know they are pricey but I just seem to keep turning up the knock offs in my Google searches. Want to get rid of the hyper silver plastic looking Sportivo badge on the rear of the car and de-badge it all and just have a nice chrome Sportivo or TRD emblem instead on the bootlid. Where do people get their JDM stuff from? Hoping they might be on there. Thanks for any help :)

Yep +1 to BG Pete as well :)
  6. ROFL! I totally missed the first one - mind just jumped straight to the second line Hehe, my dirty mind is hereditary, I swear it stems from my mother and grandmother! So what mod is next now??
  7. Hooray for coilovers!! Can't wait to see the results :D
  8. Mine's 40 channels, but there are a couple in that range reserved for emergency use. That looks alright but if you can go for one that has rechargeable batteries, as it'll come with a base station to recharge them as well as the earphones if you prefer to use it that way :) I also take along some spare AA batteries in case the rechargeables run out but the rechargeables are great, have saved me a lot of money instead of buying batteries for it all the time.
  9. Hey Reece, I've got a Uniden 049SX and it works pretty well - basically the stronger the wattage figure the further they will transmit. Buying a .05 watt one is pretty useless so they need to be at least 1 watt. The box claims to get 6km range but I've found this varies, like on some of the cruises I've been on if I've been towards the back I don't hear the guys at the very front. But its a great way to communicate and usually the message is relayed on by others to make sure everyone gets it. They'll definitely be handy for the meet up our way so if you can pick one up that'd be awesome :) There seem to be a lot of Uniden's on Ebay but ***** Smith, Harvey Norman, Autobarn etc etc all sell them.

    Aurion On Air

    Nice!! It's a great ZR6, looks absolutely mint :D
  11. DOTTEE I have definitely seen around a few times, pretty sure they're not on here Lol, I never said that you said it was any good Nathan, that was just my opinion. It is about the 5th other gold Camry I've seen, two in Melbourne, one in a car park in Mildura, and two here that I think were just visiting. So it's not as uncommon as I'd like it to be! Oh, and I've seen one travelling on the Calder when I was going southbound and it northbound. benji - I'm totally going to make it my mission now to find that other black Touring!!

+1 to Mick and Daryl - both very active participants and very knowledgeable. And agreed, they need moar mod powers to get rid of the spam bots!!
  13. Soooooooooo many double entendres... I'm not touching that one!! Grille looks awesome though, great job!
  14. Pfft, that other gold Camry in Bendigo doesn't even rate, filthy, stock as a rock and just the typical indian family driving it. Just another unappreciated auto Camry on the road! I do however see two green Camry Sportivo's cruising around Bendigo, one with dark green personalised plates. There are a few Aurions around in Bendigo but I have never seen the other black Touring you speak of benji, so it must be hiding! And I only spot yours if we meet up somewhere hahahah (and vice versa) Lots of AT-X's around though and a handful of Sportivos and Tourings, but Abby is easily the nicest one in town :) Although we both have to lower ours lol I'd say you're right Troy, those grey ones are pretty few and far between! I've only ever spotted TOYTRD cruising around Melbourne once, can't say I've spotted any of you others - unless you count at the meets!
  15. Melb members - any of you know a good wrecker that has late model cars i.e. Camry and Aurion? Am on the hunt for a grille for a DIY project..

tash i got my old grille sitting in my garage. both altise/grande grille and the sportivo like grille. the sportivo like grille doesnt have that boarder around the mesh.

Gee that's cheap Mike - where'd you get the bar from??

Reece, would you be able to take some piccies for me? Basically what I'm looking at doing is making my own sports mesh grille like you can buy for the Aurion's, but I want a test dummy grille so I don't stuff up my own.

PM me and explain the SRI please :) (and how easy it would be for me to install)

  16. Oh no! :( I saw it when you guys arrived but thought I'd be a piggly wiggly if I opened it before everyone else was ready
  17. OMG! Just tried to ring Just Cars for a car insurance quote to compare - they currently aren't providing quotes for Victoria because of our current flood situation. WTF!? I certainly won't be ringing them again...

greedy people-they just don't want to spend a fortune on our claims. Racv and other insurance companies still insure Victorian customers.

WTF? That seems very strange. Maybe other insurance companies are doing the same too, fearing people joining just to claim flood damage?

That's what I thought too Seby, I said to her "Bendigo isn't even near the water anymore", and its got no natural waterways so if Bendigo ever floods we're screwed!!

Spot on Seifer and Johnnie, just covering their own backside most likely. I rang RACV ten minutes later for a quote and got one no worries and at a good price too.

  18. The cake did indeed look very delicious :) I think one of the Cheesecake shops mud cakes will be making an appearance at the next meet... dwee - I can't find anything online at all about Red Rooster doubling donations and I haven't seen the ad on TV again (it was on yesterday morning during Sunrise) so you might just have to call in?
  19. Hahah yeah, good luck with the heat part :P I had Perrow's make me an aerosol can of the paint for the last Camry, it was so I could colour code the mudflaps to the car instead of black lol Turned out alright but I'm no DIY expert They're like 500metres from our house at the most too!
  20. Well what car is it?? There are some cars out there that just don't attract much interest as they're not what people are after. Using mine as an example, its an '06 Camry Sportivo in metallic gold and its a manual - not exactly many people's cup of tea. It was built in July 2006, not registered until April 2007 and I didn't purchase it until February 2009. During that time it sat at the dealer and was driven around sparingly by various staff (20,000km on when I bought it). Apart from it being involved in a minor accident (merely cosmetic, it was backed into a tree, and has subsequently been repaired properly) there is nothing wrong with the car mechanically, it just obviously wasn't the right car for anyone until I came along :) If you're worried about a car that's sat there for a while do your homework, what is the resale value like, what do other people think of it. I'm assuming its a Toyota, hence you posting here. Take it for a test drive, and a thorough one, not just down the road and back again. And if you're still really keen then put a deposit on it subject to it passing a full mechanical inspection by a qualified mechanic. And yes given that its been sitting there for a while the dealer may be willing to negotiate on price a bit more given they will want it off the lot. But they can always swap the car with another dealer too. As other members on here have already said go in there and name what you're willing to pay - let the dealer chase after you.
  21. Perrow's Paint in Breen St are just fantastic - they can colour match basically anything :D You can get the colour made up in either aerosol or can too. Basically you sand, prime, and then paint :) Although it takes a steady hand and some patience. A really good panel beater is Panels and Performance out in Kangaroo Flat, although they changed their name to Bendigo Accident Repair Centre. I want to take Aurora out to them to get a new front bumper and my mirror and fog lights painted black properly so they don't keep fading. Oh, and yes, I reckon the grille would look great in a gloss black to match the car :)

    Little Rants

Hmm, ok, I've turned it off then on again.......WOW problem fixed, thank you interweb master :D To try and stay on topic I also dislike the condition that the Calder Freeway is now in, potholes, bumps and a generally bad road, damn those trucks wearing these roads down so quickly Lol... Interweb master, I could get used to that title :D I know! I really should write that letter of complaint to VicRoads about it - better post on our meet for this month for the Melbourne guys to watch out on the way up to Kyneton. I can't believe they have let such a major HWY get so bad so quickly Why is it always the roads that have only just been recently resurfaced that get ripped up and done again, whilst the worst roads are just left for ages?? The road out to the showgrounds here is absolutely atrocious and they have been out there and had a half go at filling it in and just made it ten times worse!!

+1 The CBD here is absolutely stuffed for cars, poor design and getting worse with more traffic :( Oh and Tash, my interwebs is slow, please fix it ;) Hahaha, my interwebs is slow too, so I'll be fixing mine first :P (yeah right... DHS' network sucks!) Have you tried turning it off and on again??
  24. Tash

    Little Rants

Agreed!! Especially when the one sitting in the middle of the lane so you can't turn left is a bloody piddly little Hyundai. My pet hate driving at the moment is the ones who block off roundabouts when they KNOW they can't fit across!! Soooooo many times I should have been able to get through to turn but because they are complete morons they sit in the middle of the roundabout and block everyone else off while they wait for traffic to clear in their direction. I also hate it here in Bendigo's CBD because the council/VicRoads put pedestrian crossings immediately beside a roundabout. Awesome, so I don't just have to watch out for halfwits cutting out in front of me while I try to enter a roundabout, I also have to make the turn and be ready to immediately stop because someone might be crossing the road. And none of the pedestrians look before they cross the road. Yes, I have to give way to them, but a bit of common courtesy instead of blindly stepping out in front of traffic would be good.
