  8. When ever the Queens Birthday long weekend is when it will be on....... and that's a definate Can we get a rough idea of numbers by the 15th February so i can start booking rooms etc at F1 and organise some other stuff as well. It is 6 months away and you have plenty of notice so you cannot use that as an excuse. And don't say the weather might be bad cause I think us Qld'ers drove through the worst weather NSW could throw at us and we still made it!!!( and proved the CAI+ lotsa water = engine trouble totally wrong ) Be nice to see some members representing Victoria turn up this time too
  9. At this stage accomodation will be in Brissy as this is more central to where everything will take place. We will go the Gold coast prolly on the saturday night for dinner/cruise. Hooters for dinner where I will step aside and let one of the interstaters take the spot light with the ladies....(looking at Xoom LOL)
  10. Mate steer clear of that Nulon stuff. It will cause more drama's than it will fix. It's full of suspended solids like moly's teflon's and graphites etc that like to clog up oil pick ups and the like. They do not do what they claim. As for the ticking noise my guess could be broken piston rings. You did say it is low on oil so maybe that is the reason why.
  11. BINGO!!!! Some have critisied me about my thoughts on this matter and how happy I am using the old mechanical dyno at CES for most of these reasons. The only thing that changes the results on their dyno is the conditions of the day.(temp, humidity etc) No other variant can be altered to give a different reading. Good old "ol school" readings that have proven to be accurate within 1-3kw of other dyno shops in the area with the latest dyno dynamics dyno's. Everyone can have a whinge at dyno readings but at the end of the day the "operator" can and will determine your results on all computer controlled dyno's.
  12. Just read this and got a good laugh. People like "Nick" shouldn't be allowed in the community especially near kids. Some good detective work by the NSX crew!!!
  13. Could be throw out bearing, faulty/broken clutch plate, faulty pressure plate who knows?? Can you be a lil more specific?? Does it do it in neutral with foot off the clutch?? Or only when you engage the clutch???
  14. Dude try one of the import wreckers if you are in a hurry. You'll have to pay obviously but if your desperate then you may have to do it.
  15. Depend on what products you use will depend on how your car sits.
  16. Boys trust me on this one as I have had all the measurements done on my old sportivo when i owned it by my suspension wholesaler who are one of Kings biggest distributors(they sell to the majority of suspension shops) and these measurements were then sent back to kings for them to digress over. Super lows in the rear and lows in the front yield a difference of approx 2-5mm. Lows all round have a difference front to rear of 13-18mm depending on the car. Another thing a lot of people do not do is adjust the torsion beam's mounting bushes where it attaches to the car. By indexing them(in other words loosen them off slightly then go for a quick drive and then retighten them) the beam finds it "happy spot" and the bush relocates itself according to the new height. Some people refer to this as the springs settling which is a load *******. All it is is that the bush is used to sitting at angle "a" for instance and once you lower it it then sits at angle"B". If you don't loosen the bolts off slighty and let the tension off the bush it over time puts a lot of strain on the bushes and softens them up because of the extra load now on it. The bush allows the beam to "sag"(which some people refer to as springs settling) due to the bush losing some of it's rigidity which then correlates to a change in height. I have done quite a few cars like this now and they all sit as close to possible completly flat which improves the handling out of sight and makes them a joy to drive in the twisties....
  17. Do you have someone familiar with tuning a Power Fc on a 2ZZ? Cause it is not a simple plug and play. Every car is different so you cannot simply use a base map off another car. As for what you are doing my guess at power would be roughly 135-145kw at the wheels depending on how good of a tuner you can get to set it up. Yes Air con and Temp gauge is an issue as is a consistent idle. Cause Hitman doesn't care about idle does he Northy/ Xoom!!LOL
  18. I'd say 5th gear synchro is damaged. It is not very common for 5th to be a problem but I did have 5th gear synchro replaced in my box under warranty due to it crunching no matter what you did and whatever speed. Definately a faulty part in my case, yours could be the saem but also depends on how you drive. Is the car under warranty?? If so then take it back to your dealer.
  19. Holden wreckers or A Holden dealership. I believe that sort of problem is common with that particular switch.
  20. Merry christmas one and all. Hope you get soem good pressies!!!
  21. I think he's jealous of us having an ITG filter Rob.....
  22. Try doing an ECU reset and see if it does it again. If it does take it to Toyota and get them to put the scanner on it and see if any fault codes come up.
  23. ITG FTW!! From memory they are about $180ish last time I got a price on one. Easy to clean and work very well. Big advantage they have over others is the alloy bell mouth built into the bottom of the filter where it slips onto the CAI pipe. It breaths over a large surface area as well.
  24. works fine for me. Want me to come and fix it for you north?? Nice bit of driving there Micky!! you kept it on the track and away from dams......
