  1. BUMP Any further ideas on using touchup paint to fill minor stone damage? Anyone developed a good technique (FYI I have cascade blue, 8P4) Also as I was doing a lot of travelling, I put some clear nail varnish into one scratch as it went through the powdercoat - shall I paint over the top, or strip it?
  2. Maybe Toyota Owners Club Australia + Webby?
  3. As above, and then leter when you have the cash, you can go custom - put in your own spotties etc, and you're unlikely to regret it.
  4. PERTH people, we've got another FEMALE!!!! I think that makes you number 3... Not that I would consider Mandurah as part of Perth :P
  5. LOL - lovely! Maybe a name change is in order: Sketch-Ra The Egyptian g-o-d of doodling
  6. Still awaiting suggestions on what to put on them - got any ideas?
  7. My car is lowered and I can swap mine in 5mins without jacking it up. But I'm not exactly fat so I can fit under easily :P Its a 3/4" nut, which is something like 19 or 20mm in the normal system, but since it is torqued up so high (140Nm) you might need a breaker bar as well as another 3/4" spanner/socket to go over the bolt to stop it from spinning. 1) I'm fat and could still fit under the unjacked car! I chocked the front wheels though, and used that boot jack to support the middle-rear support just for safety. All weight removed from boot. 2) Took waaaaay longer than 5 minutes, though I think in future it could be done. I had some difficulty aligning the holes etc. 3) A 19mm is perfect, breaker bar wasn't really needed (me strrrrrong), and a wrench was needed to hold the bolt from spinning. A ratchet was helpful/ 4) What are those wires/cables attached next to the nuts? Their brackets kept getting in the way... All done! Thanks guys! Sarah bought me a new ratchet/socket set for my efforts (that's love for you)- but I'm ashamed to say its the HSV brand (but it comes with a lifetime warrantee, and was a good price).
  8. I trust then that your spare is not a mag then... Honestly, I wouldn't stuff about. Get a new rim. It's safer, and you might as well while they still make that design.
  9. Nobody loves me, everybody hates me, I think I'll go eat worms... Damn you Mexicans! BTW, just installed my WL rear sway only to have it rain... no testing yet. Testing being defined as driving the car as I normally would to feel the difference. Nyer.
  10. where the heck is yokine? im happy for the weekend of the 16th or 21st LOL - the park is one of the biggest in the metro area - it's opposite the Terry Tyzack (sp??) swimming pools, next to Morley, Dianella, Menora, Dog Swamp and is very near ECU and I tihnk there's a Tafe nearby as well. Sir David Brand centre is on the park too. Just off Alexander Drive... I'm pointing to it right now... can you see?
  11. I'm bored. Let's meet tomorrow at Yokine Reserve.
  12. I took the snorkel (snorkey baaaaad) and have also felt a much more responsive mid-range. Still just a standard paper filter as I'm not satisfactorily convinced another type of panel filter will be advantageous in the way that I drive. Mind you, XMas is coming up, and so is my birthday, so if someone wants to buy me a pressie, I wont argue. Hey Rob - you always said I was worth the money! ;)
  13. I saw a noice looking red rolla (MY 2000) with nice rims going down Reid Hwy on Monday. Miss Levin, was that you?
  14. Woohoo! Even Sarah is coming along! In the same car though. Can't justify bringing another car to it. Coming in the Rolla Stivo cos the Celica is still missing an eye (foggie), and the Camry is not looking... good. Stivo bewdiful.
  15. So impressed was I with the Matrix, I tried to import a RHD version. Failed miserably. Pity as they are such a versatile car! Wish you well to use it!
  16. Arghhhhhhhh Translated: yes, my good sir, that should be amicable.
  17. Is it safe enough to use the boot jack? I've had a jack failure in the past that almost took my foot off, so I'm scared :( Otherwise I'll give it a try. The other thing is, with the whiteline rear sway being installed on a 05 sportivo, do you need bushings, cos none came with it...
  18. Heya B - I wasn't using a pressure cleaner, but a steamer. I think the issue is using high-latent steam which could damage the outer coating of the mags. Theoretically possible, but hopefully unlikely. On the verge of buying a pressure cleaner, so let the good times spray!
  19. Mcuh smarter people out there than me, but here are my suggestions. 1) Clean air flow meter. Can get soapy sprays, but be careful. If you take it out of its housing, don't drop it! 2) Check for any holes in the air intake pipes/tubes/carby. Too free a flow of air can result in false sensor readings - think of a massive CAI - it'll kill low end power. 3) Hmmm, that's all I can think of.
  20. I had my car serviced twice by CH, and they're pretty good. Many here swear by CH, so given the price difference, might as well give them a go.
  21. Next question: After crossing the Nullarbor for the 7th time, I finally had the pleasure of using a pressure cleaner. I want one! Anyone know of a good pressure cleaner, and what sort of pressure (PSI) should I look at? Common sense tells me to buy the high pressure, and dial it back...
