  1. Mounts are all the same. The seat shape, looks the same to me, flat and un-supporting. Seem identical between the Levin and Sportivo sitting here.
  2. Are you asking if the mounts are the same? Or if there is a more bucket-y shape between the models?
  3. One thing I wish I did when I upgraded the stereo in my first car was look into second hand prices. Audio gear depeciates worse than an American car. Once it's been used it's only worth about 25% of retail price, so don't be afraid to check out Chashies or other second hand places (hopefully not stolen gear). The head unit isn't nessesary if you are amping the system (which you will need to do if running subs). With subs, ignore the peak watt figure as it's a meaningless figure, look for the RMS figure. You don't need to see huge watt RMS numbers to get a decent system, just keep an eye out on the impedance as an impedance difference can cause issues. I got plenty of sound of of my setup with 4x100w speakers, 1x1000w sub, 4x100w amp and a 2x200w amp. That was pretty expensive 8 years ago, now that would be pretty cheap I assume, less so if buying used.
  4. Been a few years since I've been, but they don't hire helmets out, out there. You should be able to pick up a cheapy ($120 or so) from any motorbike shop along Moorooka.
  5. Theory says they are the same, but I've never compared them. You can try shimming the rear hub, but 8mm is a lot and I would advise against that much shimming. Another option is to have a workshop heat the mount and bend it back to what it should be. The proper race prep shops should be able to do this.
  6. 2zz-ge heads built after 03/03 have a small hole in the exhaust ports that comes out just above the actual exhaust port is. These were needed for emissions in the USA and this exhaust gas recirculated (EGR) back into the intake to go through the engine again. The Australian Sportivos never had the EGR system fitted, but the holes are still in the head and need to be blocked off.
  7. It's not your fault that they were so hard to deal with. ?
  8. The belt is slipping. The degreaser may have damaged the rubber. You can try reversing it as above, but for how little they cost and how old it probably is, just replace it.
  9. I like how the flange is mounted on an angle too.
  10. If cheap ebay kits worked, everyone would have them.
  11. If you do the sums on it you get he following; Stock 16x6 6" (152.4mm) wide +45 offset width of rim inboard of the hub: 152.4/2 + 45 = 121.2mm width of rim outboard of the hub: 152.4/2 - 45 = 31.2mm 16x8 8" (203.2mm) wide 0 offset width of rim inboard of the hub: 203.2/2 = 101.6mm width of rim outboard of the hub: 203.2/2 = 101.6mm So it will stick further out by 70mm, or almost 3". If you go with a +30 offset it would improve things by a lot, but it'll still stick out a fair bit. Go with a 7" wide rim with +35 offset.
  12. The CES headers are just porting the stock exhaust manifold. They can do custom if you request it, but it'll cost a bit. I wouldn't expect much change from $1500. The CES ones come ceramic coated, which adds a bit of cost; they can be ordered without the ceramic coating to reduce the cost. Postage from PPE to Australia is about $120-130 for reference (email order, their website is wrong). Regarding the hurricane extractor, not sure how they compare as I have never seen a dyno of them.
  13. Just finished installing a second set of PPE extractors to a car. The stock O2 sensor can be reused. No need for an aftermarket ECU either, but as with all mods it helps eek more power out of them. It is true that the mid pipe needs to be shortened, but it won't be an issue for any competant exhaust shop. I don't think the PPE midpipe for the Corolla will fit ours anyway, but I didn't risk trying. The Celica midpipe is different to the Sportivo, so it won't fit either.
  14. They can, but check your policy or give your insurance company a holla.

  16. The extra mid range with the piper cams is pretty nice to have. But add something to tune VVT with, and the engine changes a lot. Once you hit 4000rpm at WOT on anything other than a smooth road, you can't keep traction. Better review I did on the cams can be found here http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php/topic/26785-piper-cams/ I now have upgraded valve train as I snapped a valve; related to the cams? Likely, but can it be confirmed? No.
  17. This redundancy is no different to any other in any industry. Only difference is the notice, one company I was with did 2 rounds a year, and you only knew it was done once there were people packing their desks. I feel for those involved as it's never good to lose your income stream.
  18. I know that feeling. I don't even DJ to write it off on tax either :( Been a few years since I last bought a white label, since Central station closed down in Brisbane, Rocking Horse has **** and they don't catelogue the genres correctly; so I gave up. My favourite is still the Daredevils! record, can't even find it on youtube to share.
