Yes I'm referring to that clock, and yes it has a red* filter on it. If you look closely with some bright light you will see it. It just happens that green light emitted by the VFD changes to a white colour when it passes through that red filter. * Well it's more of a purple/red colour, but for simplicity sake, I'm calling it red.

I'll put it this way... try asking Toyota to replace a part* for free that is currently still in working order. I think everyone can figure out the answer to that. Are we forgetting my car has a limited warrany because it was flood damaged? Because it is on the outside of the car, they tend to shift the blame pretty easily without looking into it. For the effort involved, I'm not going to go from dealer to dealer once I get the same answer a couple of times. * That is not involved in a recall.

It's not the shaft that's clunking on mine. That part is still fine on my Aurion. As I have mentioned a few times, mine is the steering rack mounts. I get no odd feeling through the steering wheel and it's just purely noise. The only real way to fix this is to change the entire rack because the mounts cannot be obtained on their own. It doesn't affect performance or safety, so it's just an annoying noise that I can put up with until I can figure out a solution that doesn't involve changing the rack.

No. Only time you need to change it in most cases is when you remove the rocker cover, if it wasn't sealed 100% in the first place, or it has just been a fair while as they do degrade over time. As I said, these things can happen, even for something off an assembly line.

Or quite simply, the brushes are slowly on their way out. It wouldn't hurt to inspect them if you know how to.

Correction; rocker cover gasket. These things can happen though. Not every engine is made perfect unfortunately. Could have been a slight defect with the gasket as well rather than the way it was assembled.

Free-revving an engine doesn't sound as good as revving it under load. Some cases though can be the opposite.

The OP, ZRSHIFT, has only modified his front y-pipe and put a new cat on. The the dynoed it and got a crap figure. The exhaust guy then said that the rear y-pipe and 1.5 inch pipe after that is a cause for restriction, so now he is all concerned about that.

Nice to meet you too mate. Good to see a car out there done up for a true purpose and not just for street/show. Not saying I'm against the majority of 'done up' cars on the road, just saying that you don't see much like yours out there on the road.

^ I think it's because the human mind is noticing the gap between the characters and it makes it just that little bit harder to assemble it as a word. That's what I would think anyways.

I do usually hear good things about BP Ultimate. At the same time, I also hear bad things. As most have stated, different fuels seem to give different results on different engines. I personally try to use only BP Ultimate. It doesn't bother me if I don't, but it,s just a high preference. My 2GR-FE doesn't really care what fuel you feed it. Even E10 gives the same results. I just trust Ultimate more.

Time for yet another update. I've been around Brisbane mostly for the last month, so this means more of my usual crazy city driving. Depite that, and the fact that I now have a new intake which has led me to constant red-lining, my fuel average seems to be getting better.
