  1. Yeah... definitely a new one. I usually search eBay for "Aurion" every few days to see what's there. I haven't seen this one before. Most likely it is from the same factory as the Auspack unit, but they finally re-designed it.
  2. I'd be keen for this as well. Count me in. Attack eh? With what... a blunt knife? :P
  3. Hope you get it free. I tried the whole "while you are servicing my car and have the Intelligent Tester connected, could you change these settings?" They wanted to charge me still. So I got it done when I got my new key programmed.
  4. Yeah Bruce. Feed it thought there. If you can't manage to squeeze it through with the other wires (which most of the time you pretty much can't), then poke a hole in the flat section of the grommet a couple of centimetres away from the bulk of the cables. Poke a coat hanger through there (can even use the coat hanger to make the hole), and then look for it inside the car. Once it is all lined up, tape the cable to the coat hanger and feed it into the hole. Carefully pull it though into the car (helps to have someone outside feeding the cable to prevent it coming loose), and then you are set. Once everything is all in the right place, if you want to be picky, put some silicone sealant around the hole you made on the grommet.
  5. Hey guys. On the topic of eBay head units, I came across this one that I would personally think looks promising. The front of it looks completely identical to the Auspack unit, but it seems like it's insides have been given a fresh update. The main one being the higher resolution screen compared to the bulk of the other units out there. Most of the 7 inch screens you find on these things are 480x234. This one here has an LCD screen resolution of 800x480. It also appears to be a better quality TFT screen judging from the richer colours on it. This would mean that it would hold up better in direct sunlight. As well, the interface seems to be really neat and tidy. It even has a built in digital TV tuner. If I didn't already have a head unit, I would be putting some good thought into this one. HD LCD CAR DVD GPS 2007/08/09 TOYOTA AURION CAMRY DVB-T
  6. I've got a spare 2 watt Uniden I can lend you for the night.
  7. Couple? Toyota have been that slack, they have had the problem since 2005. Are you referring to the inside blower motor (as in the A/C fan), or the radiator fans outside the car? If you are referring to the blower motor, then something is definitely wrong if it turns on when it is clearly set to 'off'. The radiator fans on the other hand depend on the temperature of the radiator. If the fan speed is set to 'off', the A/C light (green) should not be lit at all. Any variation from this would be considered a fault. The re-circulation light (also green) can be lit at any time however independent of the fan settings. Same goes for the rear demister.
  8. "If your left leg is Summer and your right leg is Autumn, can I visit you between seasons?" "Are you from Tennessee? Because you're the only ten I see!" - got that off a shirt of mine. "I've got the F, the C, and the K. All I need is U." "Do you know CPR because you take my breath away."
  9. Now look what you guys have done . If anyone makes this happen... let's not talk about the outcome.
  10. Look at my DIY from page 1. I would have to say that it was difficult to try and change the pipe and I have tiny Asian hands (as in my fist is about the size of those stubby 250mL Coke cans). It even scratched up my hand pretty well. I don't think Toyota would go through such effort to change the pipe.
  11. Just a note, that figure was a little bigger than that, but was including other stuff like mufflers/resonators/pipework.
  12. So there, Toyota are now sending out letters advising of the recall !!!!!!!! Letters advising of the recall? Did you read the post above yours:
  13. It sure was. Woody Harrelson was perfect for the role he played. LOL with the Bill Murray scene.
  14. That sucks that you have had a bit of a rough ride in a way with your Aurion. My Aurion has had it's fair share of issues, but most of these to me just felt like lacking features. Yeah I have dash rattles and steering knocks, but for some reason these don't phase me. I love my car for what it is and would gladly by another Toyota again in the future. These are my views though. Hope you find just what you're looking for once it comes time to get another car.
  15. Shiny. Love the audio specifications and plans. That car will be pumping.
  16. Sweet. I guess I will spend the day of Saturday waxing my car then.
  17. Am I a candidate: No you're just nuts. ;) Daryl is especially nuts! Daryl has special nuts? But seriously though, mountain runs aren't all about how fast you are. It's your own personal limit as well that determines your time. On that topic, I as well would prefer a nice cruise with sights.... but I have faith that Brennden has organised a good cruise. A mountain run would be nice as well at a casual pace, but maybe should be the last thing planned because it will result in bugs dirtying up the car meaning we can't get great photos (hint Rowan). This way, if people don't think they can have a casually paced cruise through the mountains, they can bail. I would be looking forward to a mountain run that is slower than my usual pace. It's been ages since I have been able to cruise around there in a group without pushing hard. It would be nice to go at a slower pace.
  18. Not me. Stuck here in Sydney till tomorrow.
  19. Not if you DIY :P
  20. Standard Aurions are around 192hp at the wheels but 200Kw at the engine, so there is probably slightly less loss through the drive trains due to them being front wheel drive. You'd be surprised at how much loss there is despite it being a FWD. If a stock Aurion was 192hp, that is 143 kW at the wheels. That's more along what SupaTouring was saying. Anyways, you now have one thing left.... and that is the 1/4 mile. This will show if changing the power/torque curve has made things better or worse. Maximum power is all well and good, but it all depends where it is.
  21. Anyways, if we do hit Nebo, this is a TOCAU meet remember. It's not like a cruise with the other forum guys.
  22. LOL on the name. But yeah; definitely WAY better. I'm glad that is all over now. Thank you immune system.
  23. Yeah... maybe this explains why Toyota have this as an option on a Camry and Aurion.... two cars both aimed for a target market older than that I personally don't think it is ricey and childish if done right. That is if you get blue, keep it dim and just as a gentle highlight. Otherwise get white. I recon white footwell lighting is clean and nowhere near ricey.
  24. tbh i agree with you. If we do a mountain run; why not take it more relaxed. No one is saying you have to go hard. I used to have fun going around Nebo on the speed limit once upon a time. Anyways, we'll see what uncle Bren has planned as it may not even involve this. I was just speculating. And Rowan, why not get your Aurion back if you are just going to be soft. Otherwise you are just wasting your toy.
  25. Interesting result. You are pretty much level with the result that Darius achieved of . Though he got his result by removing the third cat and resonator, then adding a pair of Varex mufflers. Now you need to run down the drags to really prove the power. Dyno figures are good for getting an idea, but now you have a challenge.I'm considering doing this to mine, but I'm waiting for a response from a guy in the States to see how he modified his. He has gotten a 13.8s run down the 1/4 mile in Texas weather, so I am curious about this. This statement I agree with more.
