  1. Next time drive another 10 mins and say hi? -Azza I've got a bit of work to do while I'm here. I'm at Mantra and will be staying the night. Can catch up tomorrow afternoon if you're free.
  2. See those two fuses I've circled above? I beleive the one labeled "CIG" is the front one, and the one labelled "PWR OUTLET" is the rear one.
  3. Gave her some energy drink and took her for a leisurely jog here to Mooloolaba.
  4. I would personally purchase an ex-rental so long as it passes all visual inspections and serviced according to schedule. As a matter of fact, my Aurion IS an ex-rental. Heck, it was even flood damaged. Is now at 72,000km and has not skipped a beat.
  5. Just take her with you to show that you care
  6. I have a 70% chance of being able to make it this Sunday. Depends on whether I can really be in the mood for it as the day approaches. This is starting to get a little extreme. Out of all the Aurions to have issues, you'd think mine would be the one.
  7. My view is that it's no different to getting bright glare from 4WD's and trucks. I just do what I've been taught and that is to keep your eyes on the road in front of you and if the car approaching has brighter lights just turn your head away ever so slightly. Anyways, I've officially left this argument. It's just like everything else. You'll end up going in loops. Some people agree, some don't. I don't care what others say, I'm still keeping my decisions. It reminds me of this forum I was reading the other night about the Skyneedle here in Brisbane now up and running. There were all these people complaining that it pollutes our night sky etc, etc. I on the other hand quite love having it running. I think it looks great.
  8. It's not just the tire width you are looking at there. It is also the wheel width. IF they are these ones (eBay link) two of them are 8 inches wide, and the other two are 9 inches wide. Now an edit on my previous post, with the current wheels on your Camry, the distance from the ede of the wheel to the outside edge of the guard is around 20mm on the front and 30-35mm on the rear. Now because these are staggered wheels, you would be putting the 8 inch ones on the front and the 9 inch ones on the rear. With the 8 inch ones on the front, they will stick out 28mm more than stock. That means they stick out past the outer edge of the guard. With the 9 inch ones on the rear, they will stick out 40mm more than stock. That means they will also stick out past the outer edge of the guard. And as I mentioned, the aesthetics aren't the only thing you need to worry about. By changing the offset like that, you can change your steering geometry around. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. Each car behaves differently though, so this I cant comment on.
  9. I'm afraid they may not. There is only a good 30-35mm from where the stock wheels sit to the very edge of the outer guard. The 8 inch wheels with a +30 offset will extend 28mm more than stock and the 9 inch wheels with +30 offset will extend 40mm more than stock. They will either be in line with the guards, or just past it. Can't really tell till it's fitted though. But that is just asking for scrubbing.
  10. I remember watching various wheels from that seller here in Queensland. I wasn't too fond of many of the designs he had available though, but I'm always keeping my eye out. Another thing as well is that a fair few of them come in staggered arrangements which means it's not something you can do a rotation on. Those ones from what I can remember are a +30 offset. That will stick out of your guards a bit you do know. Makes it stick out even more when the wheels are 8 and 9 inches wide. Changing the offsets like that isn't usually something you should do as it increases the forces on the wheel bearing etc. It can also alter the steering geometry (specifically, scrub radius), which can cause unwanted steering effects.
  11. Same from me as well Nathan. You should start a nice clean Members Ride thread where you just focus on the car so you don't get massive hijacks.
  12. I tried that at first but it didn't sit how I wanted cause of the design of my headrest. I got a little creative with my limited resources. Just a cheap compact tripod and a jockey strap. The strap pulls down and forwards which keeps all three legs firmly planted on the ground so the camera didn't shake around (too much):
  13. 4.77 times or there abouts. It was sped up to fit within the length of the song. So some cases look like I'm going just under 600km/h The drive seems quite long even when looking at it quickly. Yet you don't really realise it on the road.
  14. We never said anything about putting new wheels on to make it look like a BMW or any other 'flashy' car like that. It's called individuality. Making something of yours more aesthetic for your own tastes. Your argument is invalid to the point of discussion here. Anyways, I'm throwing in the towel here. I really CBF going in circles. If no one likes your Aurion, then that's your problem. I've got many people that like mine and respect the things I've done to it and the care I have towards to. Your argument is like going up to a girl and asking why she puts on make-up and makes herself look different.
  15. A little twisted, but I also laughed. That is something creative.
  16. Thanks for the tips mate. Yeah, I really suck when it comes to anything involving a camera. I just have a point and shoot camera and time to waste. Ideally I wanted to mount a camera outside on the bonnet or roof, but didn't have many options there. If I get my hands on some decent equipment though I'll definitely remember that.
  17. In response to the post above, I wasn't saying that the halogen projectors were perfect for HID conversions. I am aware of the 'squirrel spotters' and how it creates glare, but the glare from them with HID's is nowhere near as bad as that from HID's in reflectors. I bet if you got a car with HID's in reflector lenses and another in halogen projectors and put them side by side, the one with the projectors will be giving off less glare.
  18. How many days off were you? They would give a bit of leeway in case you can't make it there on time. When I get them to do my major services, I am sometimes 1000-2000 over the designated km, but it's still covered.
  19. LOL, LOL and LOL there Ash. BTW to avstral as well, the Aurion may not be a BMW, Merc, etc but it still impresses many people. A stock Sportivo or TRD still gets many looks. Not if you have a bone stock AT-X, or Presara though. And the car performs as well. Obviously you haven't driving yours with control at such a pace before to know just how good they are. If you need to use your car to impress girls, it also shows you need to work on some serious life skills.
  20. Edit: I read the previous post after replying. But yeah... Actually, they have set an annual fee. I just logged into the Toyota Link website and found that my free membership will expire sometime next year (the expiry date used to be blank and does not contain a date). There is also a payment button now, so I clicked this and proceeded to make a payment (not really going ahead with the payment as it's not due till next year), so that I can find out how much I'll be charged. It turns out that you need to pay $240 per year to renew your Toyota Link subscription after your initial free period of 3 years.
  21. Sounds all so similar to the argument I was having inside my head not long ago: A few wheel/tire related questions My final choice was to change from a 215/55R17 tire to a 225/50R17 tire. Yes it does mean the speedo will be slightly off, but because it was already 6% or so out, the smaller overall diameter with the new tires now makes the speedo closer to accurate (it's still off though). I personally don't like the tires they put with the tire and wheel packages. To think of how much this option really costs, just look at the cost of the wheels on their own and add on the cost of the rubber of your choice. It doesn't really work out such great value then and your back to square one. Oh yeah.... don't get Maxxis. I hear they aren't that good.
  22. I was. I promise. Just all those people around me going under the limit that make me look fast Yeah. Finding the right song took a little bit of listening. Needed something that works with the type of video so it won't bore you out too much.
  23. Well I was working on mounting my camera in the car and found a neat way to mount it so it is relatively stable. I got a bit bored and though of trying something out. I had to drive to Manheim Fowles yesterday and through I would give it a shot. The end result wasn't quite how I wanted it, but nevertheless: A passenger side view of a 25 minute drive.... in under five minutes: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!P.S. Eugene, at 4:12 was where I passed by you as per the Spotted thread.
  24. Slightly different optics in terms of lamp placement, etc. As wll, the Presara come with auto-levelling headlights which helps stop unwanted glare. That will end up with a much dimmer light output and it's not worth the effort in my opinion.
  25. They would be the Michelin Energy MXV8. When it came to new tires, the MXV8's were $199 a corner and the Adrenalin was $235 for the exact same size. For an extra $140 all round, the Adreanalin was well priced.
