  1. That's completely fine for Rain-X to do that. It's kind of like wax in the way you apply it. After it dries to a haze, buffing it off seems to just smear a light haze over the surface. If you just keep buffing it, it will blend to a point that you shouldn't really notice it.
  2. I would be more than certain that your ECU was reset then. See how it all feels after a few hundred kilometres of driving.
  3. Like you said, it is more of a personal thing. I just love the styling of it so I guess that it makes up for it with that instead. I have had so many people comment about how good it looks. Much better than the 91 Camry I was driving before hand. At least Toyota didn't design it like the one on my sister's Mazda 3. On that one, the 100km/h mark is nearly horizontal on the left. It makes it seem like 100km/h is slow. That only really works on the Ferrari gauges I think that facelift gauge shown above (reposted below) may improve the readability. I reckon the lack of blue will help create a sharper contrast that would make it easier to grab a quick reading. I guess it will have to be seen in person to make judgement.
  4. Are you referring to the way the scale on the speedo is done with the increments etc? I don't find any issue with that whatsoever. I find it quite easy to determine my speed from a quick glance.
  5. Think of it like a camera lens. The bigger the lens, the more light you can let through. Opting for a larger lens will give you a brighter output, even though only fractional.
  6. Working off my memory alone, I think the SV21 does have a 60 litre tank. The fuel gauge on mine was getting worse as it's life went on and by the time I got rid of it (16 years old), it was saying it was empty when there was 15-20 litres left in the tank. Originally though, it was saying empty when there was about 10 litres left which seems to be the standard among most Toyota's. I used to only drive it around 20-30kms after hitting empty on the gauge, but if you calculate your actual fuel consumption, you can get an indication of how far you can drive.
  7. I'll be there just before 5:30pm. Want to make the most of my $38 by fitting in a fair few runs.
  8. Rain-X is used on the outside of the windscreen only. Firstly, you shouldn't have any tints on the windscreens, secondly, tints go on the inside of the glass. You can use Rain-X on other windows if you want as well as point number 2 above applies. Rain-X fog treatment goes on the inside of the glass however. I haven't used it myself, but best to look at a packet of it first to make sure it is safe for use with tinting.
  9. Also easy to measure because you use exactly half a bottle of it to one complete washer bottle fill. The RainX effects of this additive aren't the greatest in my opinion, it's more for it's cleaning properties. I actually find the Toyota washer fluid additive to work even better at cleaning the windscreen. Toyota adds it every time I get a service and I don't mind it.
  10. As for number one, I hear the TRD intake is better down low and you should be getting gains as such. It could be your mind playing tricks on you, but I guess someone else with the TRD intake should enlighten you on this. For the second question, there is nothing wrong there. I actually like that sound a CAI/SRI makes when you stop the engine. You pretty much explained the sound yourself. It is one last gasp for air really, but you hear it differently because the ignition to the engine is cut and you just hearing the air being sucked past the closed butterfly valve in the throttle body.
  11. I wouldn't say it's the best place to get it, but I just get mine from K-Mart as the shops are only around the corner. Repco and the likes sell it though.
  12. I love that RainX. When you're stationary, you see the water slowly building up then running off the windscreen. Go fast though, and it clears your windscreen extremely well. I want something just like that but for the paintwork of the car.
  13. Third time that has happened? I'd be trying to get a good sling-shot and ball bearings to teach them a lesson. Don't people have any respect for others' property these days?
  14. Good to hear that solved your issue. Sometimes spending that little bit extra helps. They should last fairly long though. Plus the fact that the blades are well protected from the elements, especially sunlight, helps add to their life.
  15. Not quite the answer you may be looking for since I don't use my phone for GPS, but I sit both my phone and wallet in the little pocket to the left of your left knee. A perfect fit for both. Plus if I ever plug in a phone charger, it can leave it plugged into the phone while it sits there.
  16. Was fun to watch since I never really watched drifting before like that. Was made way more enjoyable by the 3 laps sitting shotgun in on of the cars. I now see why people find drifting so enjoyable. That is crazy to see it from the passenger seat.
  17. Well you gotta pay if you wanna play.
  18. Possibly being the key word here. Unless you can find someone to 'borrow' their controls off, you won't know for sure. Otherwise it's a bit of an expensive guess.
  19. The chair idea didn't really take off. Mick brought a swivel gas-lift chair one week while everyone forgot. It never took off after that. Doesn't seem right for the meet anyway.
  20. What do you believe that it controls? In my experience, it controls the in-dash multi-information display. If you already have this display, you should already have the button. If you don't, this button is going to be useless. Anyway, if you are after this part, you would need to obtain it from Toyota spare parts. If Toyota Australia doesn't have it, you will need to order it from the States then. The part number you will be looking at is: 84250-42010. This is for both sides as it only comes as the pair. Said to cost around USD$150.
  21. Fat tires FTW. I headed down to the shopping centre today and to avoid the 20 or so metal speed bumps, I got nice and close to the kerb. The car just makes it past without the bump. Got a little too close to the kerb on one of them, it just felt like a little bit of resistance on the rear wheel, but not a single scratch on the rim.

    Photoshop!!!!

Be careful what you wish for. BONDIE had this thought before and it turned out to be laughable. Unfortunately all the photos he posted in the thread "MODIFIED GRILL" have lost their hosting so you can't see the effect. It was along the lines of a cheesy grin.
  23. Did you not read my first post, or are you that ignorant. Thanks to the language barrier, your post made barely any sense. Just so you know, there is no built in remote starter for the Aurion. You can get them as an aftermarket kit however. The only other way to remote start the Aurion without the add on module is if you have the Smart Entry system. You would wire your remote boot release output to a relay that triggers the push button switch for the engine start. That way, when you are in range of your vehicle, you hold down the boot release button and you engine will start. So as a matter of fact, you aren't the only one that knows that trick. In terms of co-operation, we are co-operating in the fact that we are informing you of how to get the TRD parts you require. You will need to speak to a Toyota dealer in Australia yourself. The fact that you have tried that and they asked you for a VIN shows that you need to own a TRD to get certain parts. We won't simply just give this stuff away to anyone you know. In case you haven't read, TRD Aurion parts aren't in production anymore.
  24. Northy has a good one he usually brings along.
  25. ... Are you sure about that? You should pop it back on for one night only and come out to the drags on Wednesday.
