  1. if you do this, make sure you turn the steering wheel VERY slowly. with no weight on the system, you run the risk of turning your steering boots inside out and stuffing the rack if it's turned too quickly. but otherwise i agree it sounds like the cv's are wearing prematurely. if it turns into a pulsing sound it could be the hubs.
  2. uncomfortable for long trips? lol, dude im 6'3" and was fine in them you shouldn't have any troubles. but they do look good. enjoy
  3. if you do ever plan on getting the guards rolled, good luck with the rears. the lip may look alright to roll, but apparently the quarter panel above warps.
  4. congrats on the buy i've got some very nice oz racing wheels for sale....
  5. symptoms of a timing chain going is you may hear a bit of timing chain slap or the engine may run more retarded. the only way to truly tell is to take the rocker cover off and formally inspect the timing chain links (which should be done by toyota when they're checking valve clearances at major services).
  6. women are required to wear cotton gloves, shoe covers and hair nets in my car. :P
  7. i only ever go to toyota for spare parts, so it's gary mcmillan toyota for me. i get on well with the spare parts guys, and they go out of their way to get what i need quickly. the sales team is ok, but the service department are frigwits imo (due to exorbitant labour rates, arrogant and/or unknowledgeable service advisors, and long wait times for a minor service)
  8. aahhhhh..the pictures on their website show overspray....
  9. the timing chain will only need to be replaced if the chain links are out of specification. otherwise, there is no need to replace it unless you like fixing things that ain't broke. a car that has been driven hard will not necessarily be in poor mechanical condition. if the owner actually has a sound mechanical understanding and therefore drives the car properly, in addition to the vehicle being serviced correctly, there shouldn't be any issues in the short term.
  10. are you sure you've turned the adjusting screw enough? it requires a fair bit to make any noticeable difference. secondly, what are you using as a reference? you should be either 3m or 25 away from a wall, and the top of the beam of the low-beams should be just under the horizontal line. the horizontal line is the point on the wall that the middle of the headlights meet. you may also want to check the quality of the globes. some globes differ even between the same type and make, and can cause the beam to shine at a slightly different angle which can cause adjustment issues.
  11. 100,000km service for a sportivo only includes spark plugs, oil, oil filter, and a safety check on anything else (plus other report items if need be, obviously). the major service is 80,000kms

  14. the silver on black team is slowly growing
  15. no wonder you think it's quiet, you have 2 resonators. if you want to compare to the CES system, it only has 1 resonator. as others have said, different sized resonators and mufflers will give a different sound. if you're thinking of changing the system now, at least wait until it has burnt in and reached it's true sound and then decided if you're happy with it.
  16. 130 kw@ the wheels? ;) take out the recaros and its 115kw, haha :P
