  1. This is a very typical issue in modern diesels. A catch can and an EGR blanking plate can go a long way to preventing sludging/carbon in the oil symptoms.
  2. Take it with a grain of salt. If it is actually true, you will not notice this. These are flywhewl figures, so once you factor in the percentage of drivetrain loss and the extra weight from the extra muffler you will gain nothing.
  3. Aurions can be pretty aggressive with wheel hop, especially when the traction control intervenes as well. It definitely won't help the matter.
  4. Did any lights appear on your dash at the time? Did you break traction?
  5. Pretty much looks only, possibly a sound difference. The front pipe is exactly the same part number, so the restriction remains the same.
  6. I doubt it without some form of adapter/spacer plates.
  7. Is the starter motor spinning/engaging at all? Is there a loud click/clack sound when turning the key?
  8. Pad and rotor upgrade would be a better first step.
  9. No, nor do I plan to. If I was to purely track a vehicle I would consider using them. There are plenty of posts around. One as recently as a few days ago of a HEL branded one failing on an 86. Luckily the guy was only in a parking lot at the time. Just be very careful and do your research if you decide to go ahead with it.
  10. Be careful which ones you buy as many are prone to fail. These are also generally considered an illegal modification.
  11. I have not seen any single DIN units personally. I think most opt for double DIN.
  12. Reading back through your posts, you had made no mention of this, which makes it sound like a completely different issue that you are having.
  13. The link below may net you some helpful advice. I personally have not seen this happen. It may be MAF sensor related, but that is purely a guess. https://www.supraforums.com.au/
  14. I personally probably wouldn't put it through the turbo. It probably wouldn't cause any damage, but I would rather not risk it. I did a little research and I didn't find a lot on the subject of putting it through the turbo.
  15. Create your own topic. What you are posting has nothing to do with the topic you are posting in.
  16. Some mechanics will be happy to fit parts that you have sourced, but if it is the incorrect part you will have to foot any labour costs associated with that. Others may not be too keen to fit them.
  17. If you go to a mechanic that is about the normal pricing you will pay. They have to buy it off a business who buys it off a wholesaler/manufacturer. Each of those steps, adds their own profit margins and overheads. Admittedly I missed the piece of your post where you mentioned eBay, but of course eBay will be cheaper.
  18. Engines run at around 90°C, so it is inevitable that you will have heat soaking from it. I would say most cars on the market are designed with the blower motor intakes behind the engine. And yes, our 3 current Toyotas, my 2 previous Toyotas and my previous Ford have all presented this phenomenon with the vents on open air.
  19. A lot of the pre-facelift will not fit the facelift and vice versa. Here is the best readily available parts finder: http://www.japan-parts.eu/
  20. Sadly the days of Toyota being reliable are slowly disappearing. As I said I am not certain about the hose being a recall; however, we had this pipe installed whilst it was still under Toyota extended warranty, with no prompting and it was not leaking at the time. It doesn't take long to have a quick look at the intermediate shaft slip joint under the dash. In regards to the vents, turn them to recirculate and see if it still does it. The intake vents are right behind the bonnet in the windscreen cowling, so it is probably forcing in engine heat as you accelerate.
