Civic and corolla 1/4 times

Recommended Posts

bangn was running 14.4 with semi slicks, also intake, muffer and 3pk hd button clutch.

there's no point doing the ricer maths denying the times and saying this plus this will give this equals this

the slip is there, times are set face it.

Guest JDM y0 !

honda really does know what its doing when it comes to NA.

4age and b16a are similar engines. b16a always outputs more power.

Nah mate lotus elise s runs the 1zzfe engine same from the corolla 70k.

The lotus exige s runs the 2zzge supercharged engine from the celica and retails at 115k.

learn to do your research better...

Elise 111s is a 1ZZ-FE yes... BUT

Elise 111r is a 2ZZ-GE

Exige is a 2ZZ-GE with a hard top

Exige 240R is a 2ZZ-GZE (ie supercharged)

hahaha

Dont forget the 4AGE 20 Valves, that will munch a b16A alive, and will be pretty close against the Type R, Toyota did make that car to compete with them?

Close against Type R, I dont think so. A stock DC2R with a good driver behind the wheel can achieve a mid 14 1/4 mile.

Theres a video on youtube that details the development of the Type R hondas. It amazing how much precision and care is used in making the engines.

Also does an LSD aid in launching a car or is it mainly used for corners.

Fools!

Its coz the civic driver was persian, and there was an angry spartan tail gating him during the drag.

you could put the same bloke in a suzuki and still get an amazing time if you give him enough incentive to go faster.

did this make sense?

is this madness?

MADNESS?

THIS IS SPARRRRRRTTTAAA

I think Negatron has a taste for blood after watching 300

At the end of the day 1zz-fe is an economy engine. So you're comparing a model designed for families, couriers and the like to a model that's designed for spirited driving, it's not apples with apples.

Lol, yes, i'm just bored at work and 300 was the last movie i saw.

but the F in the 1ZZ-FE stands for fuel consumption and economy

if u must compare you need to find a G tuned toyta engine, for the b16's case u'd probably be going all the way back to the later generations of the 4age.

but at the end of the day, a performance engine a 1zze does not make.

the stock LSD will aid slighly more in launch then around corners, since it's only a 1way.

an aftermarket 1.5way will help both from launch and in corner breaking and acceleration.

a dc2r only weighs 1000kg :P

The closest thing to competing with the type R is the celica trd sports M

I can garantee you, plus someone else posted up a time slip to prove the time there able to run.

Yeh 95kw atw and a 14.5 1/4 mile run at wsid, even went up to check the car out and talk to the guy.

Its the 96-00 vtir plus b16a engine which comes stock in them running i/h/e as i mentioned before.

All the other civic vtir cars were really close to that time.

well wheel power explains alot!

Honestly why compare.................An argument like this will never end...............

Another thing is I think the Type R engines are hand built.

Sportivo is a 'warm' hatch at best............Its not going to have bucket seats, LSD, short shifter, sports tuned suspension, thicker sway bars etc....Its an everyday car with a screaming engine........and being such a fat ***** car don't expect too much from it. If it was to be a hot hatch then they would of bought the three door over with its lower mass. Weight is an N/A cars worst enemy.

BTW I love my sportivo!!
