a bypass valve with the clutch setup will work, since yours is a low boost setup the valve shouldn't leak like 4agze valves do. It's a common mod on the 4agze to get rid of the bypass valve.

So in losing the bypass valve on the 4agze, does that mean the charger now runs all the time?

i am looking foward to getting it all fixed up :D

The charger doesn't run all the time, only when the clutch is engaged. If your charger couldn't bypass enough air with the clutch disengaged the car wouldn't idle.

List of what is getting done:

Removal of SC kit

Tapped manifold and throttle body pipe for Bypass valve.

Valve added

Kit reassembled / installed

wiring of Blitz ECU removed

Replace with wiring of Emanage Blue

SC clutch wiring to bypass valve to activate clutch

Emanage Blue Tuning on Dyno (Dyno Dynamics)

Hopefully should be running well when complete :D

Anyone else think Evan has picked up the car and is enjoying it too much to part with it for 5 minutes to post here? Either that or he broke the speed of light and is now in another dimension.

ROFL!

ummm... well, i got the car back but its not exactly finished :(

yes its driveable, but the bypass valve thats supposed to go in...

The spring in the actual valve is too compressed, and the vacuum line doesnt have enough force to open it up.

so they have just capped off where valve attaches to the charger and hooked up all the wiring for the Emanage, just he has removed the relay to activate the clutch on the charger... so in short, no boost and no revving the car past 3 grand.

But as soon as they can get a softer spring, it will be ready to finish the tune.

So no lighspeed for me just yet :(

  • 2 weeks later...

So update time,

and i have some bad news, the car is still not boosted! its ok, i just need to wait.

What happened with the 'valve' type bypass valve was it couldn't open to bypass, and Turbosmart said they couldn't do anything more to help us.

So what has now needed to happen is for us to wait for a Procharger Bypass Valve from the States, which is the flap type, which WAS the original idea, but we didn't know when we would be able to source 1. Waiting time is 15-16 days :( So now, the car isn't boosted, Emanage is all wired up ready to go! and i received another new toy yesterday...

2zz Injectors B)

Now just thinking whether i 'should' upgrade the fuel pump too???
