  1. i know what you mean. after i got my 17" but before i lowered it, my girlfriend was like...."how come the new wheels are still so small? i thought you got bigger wheels?
  2. i'm assuming because the meet point is in villawood/fairfield that everyone is fairly closeby. I only live 1minute away...thanks for picking a great meet-point guys :D :D
  3. cool. I'll be at the monthly meet. can't make it for the toymods meet though. I'm looking forward to it. :)
  4. Hey guys and girls finally got my car lowered. put kmac springs in (2inche drop). the ride is decent not too bumpy. the spring rates are perfect for the shocks and clearance is excellent. no scrubbing, HEAPS less body roll. very happy with the whole setup Lowered rear and polished stock exhaust front and painted calipers (yet to do the rear calipers) And just for comparison, a shot of the car before it was lowered..... :o :o :o
  5. just did mine recently. the only real valuable tip i can give you is to mask everything off. the masking process will take the longest. before you do that though, get in there is a toothbrush and a strong bristle brush and some water to get all that brake dust off i know it's tempting just to spray heaps of paint to cover the caliper, but trust me. it's heaps better to spray light coats and go over many times. the paint looks smoother and the finish is nicer.
  6. hi try this link. i found it really helpfull. gives you all sorts of info http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html (copy and paste)
  7. i've gota silva rolla too and IMO quite like those rims. i got a set of k-speed from Tempe too (k-speed circlar dark bronze) Tempe is not bad. just be smart with them cause they will usually always give you lower quality tyres if you ask for a better price. ask what tyres you will get first hten ask for the discount. :D I got a set of Nankang tyres. after driving around with them for a week (after they're scrubbed in) they are not that good. they are not terrible either but compared to the stock Toranza tyres they are crap. until they're scrubbed in they seem to float on their treads alot. now, they are noisey through corners (due to the tread pattern). Turn-in is not too bad but they are by no-means a performance tyre. so it's up to you what you want. like some of the others said, you can take the wheel to a better tyre shop if that's what you want. P.S glad to see others voicing their honest opions. the last thing we want is everyone blowing sunshine up our a*rse everytime we ask for an opinion. :)
  8. mine cost me over $400. did it a few months ago so can't remember exactly.
  9. brakes AND tyres together man. sounds like a hairy moment. glad to hear ur ok.

  11. Damn! i was looking forward to cruising around castle hill with a bunch of s'tivos sweeping the area for this mysterious car/chick combo.
  12. a simple good search for "bunnings villawood" 794 - 850 Woodville Road Villawood NSW 2163
  13. Hmmm. Cigarettes have been taking lives for many many many decades legally. either way it's a complicated issue with good and bad points on both sides. but my point is; who is to decide whether a a particular person should have a baby or not. it is not up to the would-be parents? no good can come from forcing un-ready teens to have and raise kids. and that is my view on the matter
  14. Win and dine? i think you mean bring out the cave man club, bat her on the head and drag her back to your cave :D :D :D
  15. :D :D :D we should organise a sweep of the castlehill area. I'm intrigued now. it's almost toooo hollywood! :D
  16. LOL! im sure she will be spotted again. she turned into castlehill road hmm....this feels like a movie. haha....man someone get the video camera :D Haha. that's hilarious! Don't worry if we ever run into her, we'll put in a good word for you :D we could make our own little documentary/reality TV serious called "fast chicks and fast rides" haha :D
  17. I have but early last year. i have been busy with my new job and haven't been following the posts :( i know there are alot of new faces since the last time i posted. I'll make it for the end-of-month meet. te meet point is only up the road from my house :D
  18. It's not exactly new. it was around since the late 90's. it was originally allowed into Australia but then ammendments where passed so that not only did drug companies have to apply for approval from the TGA but also the ministry of health for approval. below is an excerp from an article i read on the matter. "Now, because of the legislation, RU486 can only be imported after approval from both the Therapeutic Goods Administration and the Federal Minister for Health. In other words, the Health Minister has an effective veto. Since the legislation, not a single drug company has applied to the TGA to import RU486 into Australia – despite the potentially high demand for the drug and the profits to be made. The view of the pharmaceutical industry is there’s no point spending time and money on an application to make or import RU486 when there’s a strong possibility the Health Minister will exercise this veto." <http://www.abc.net.au/health/thepulse/s1246252.htm> the matter here is about choice. Putting political and religious views aside (although on this matter i have a suspicion that are stronly linked) i believe the choice should be there to be made. if it weren't for the religious-nut lobbyist, the drug would have no problem getting through.
  19. sand down the rotor and paint it. of if u're after some rotors, peformance brakes specialists like DBA. they make some nice performance rotors that look alot better than stock and won't rust
  20. sorry guys. i can't make this one. got a wedding to attend with the gf <_< I'll make it to the end of month meet though. looking forward to it.
  21. thanks for the comments guys. I'm getting kmac springs for my car. aparently they are custom made for what ever drop you're after. i meaured a 2" drop would be safe with minimal chance of scrubbing as the tyres sit just under the guards. The tyres are 215/40/17. they're Nankang's. from what i've read from previous posts, they're not exactly the best of tyres but they'll do for now. saved the money for the springs. The way i see it, by the time these things wear out, i'll have saved up enough to get better tyres. The Nankangs won't make much of a dif for regular street driving and the springs will atleast improve performance to a certain extent. what i really wanted was a set of Pippy's coil overs but budget doesn't really allow for it. :( BTW. I though the meet was next weekend.
  22. Hi Guys I haven't posted on here in a while. just letting you guys see my new rims. They're KSpeed Circlar from Tempe Tyres in Sydney. Got el'cheapo Nankhang tyres but they'll do for now for my current budget. Getting the car lowered this weekend. roughly a 2" drop anywayz. let me know what you guys think
  23. Hi guys I have had similar experiences with parts from carmate. My front grill dosn't sit quite right. I purchased it from carmate. there molds don't seem to be quite right.
  24. that's not necessarily true. I was driving down the Hume Highway (sydney) and right infront of me was an old 80's civic. all of a suddent the front left wheel just collapses and the car is sliding along the ground, sparks everywhere. i pull over to see if they are alright. Guess what?.....the lower ball-joint just broke off!!! the driver was just cruising and not even manuevering. the state of some cars on the road these days shock me.
