  1. hi all, i didnt want to start a new topic, since i thought someone might have asked this question earlier, but when i did a search it brought me back to this thread, so i might as well ask here. ***does anyone know (hypothetically speaking) which engines would be a suitable upgrade from a 1zz? more specifically, since so many people here say its not worth the time/money upgrading 1zz to the sportivo 2zz - instead just trade up for a sportivo, i was thinking... what if there was a suitable upgrade that was- 1. N/A - not supercharged/turbo'd 2. considered street legal upgrade 3. more performance than a standard 2zz 4. just as "easy" (for lack of a better word- by no means do i think switching engines is easy!) to install as a 2zz upgrade- (does this one make any sense?) it is my understanding that youd need not only change the computer, engine, transmission, wiring but also the brakes to suit. 5. if possible, possibly still vvt-i? - (is caldina vvti?)
  2. yo spl, that box is ported yea? i dont see an inner wall separating the 2 subs.. my guess is that if you dont have 2 working subs in this particular box, its not going to sound too good. if the insides were divided into 2 chambers so that it was basically 2 boxes (joint together), you wouldnt have any issues with just 1 sub... but it doesnt sound right to have a single sub fitted to a box with enough space inside to accomodate for 2 subs. ps - forgive me if im repeating myself.. its 135am
  3. if you look hard in the background im sure you can see a bankrobber trying to escape lol
  4. if you go to any decent car audio dealer you would find the majority of sub boxes are either rectangle or some irregular box shape. i doubt that the manufacturers avoid square shapes coz it has anything to do with sound quality, but has more to do with saving precious boot space. as long as you have enough space inside the box, regardless of the shape, your sub should be ok. moulded sub boxes look a lot better though (in my opinion). saves a lot more space and looks more like its supposed to be in there. inverted - that means your sub will be screwed in with the magnet exposed?
  5. hmm.. top of my pic says reduced 80%, but when you click to enlarge, it doesnt go to its full size. :/ sorry.
  6. nice example of vanishing point and perspective in that one :P woulda been nice to see your car somewehre in the shot too. anyhoo, its time i added something to this thread. here ya go. taken on my 6110 navigator and mashed up on photoshop.
  7. just 1 question - having the CAI contained in that custom box makes it street legal in NSW? just curious..
  8. Although im guilty of this very thing, im in full support of this! i get nervous looking up tocau at work for that very reason :P lol
  9. why is it that different countries drive on different sides of the road?? US, Philippines, and other places drive on the right side, while Japan, Aus, NZ, UK drive on the left? whats the deal?
  10. shouldnt have given myself a straight 10/10 for the install. the face gets stuck when you want to shift it down to eject a cd! me thinks i should screw it in a bit more level.. i think that has a lot to do with it sticking, since when its not installed and sitting on the table it works perfectly fine. i suspect if its all screwed in straight n level, the thing would work much more smoother.
  11. im really loving the matt black... you think its possible to DIY? im sure ive seen it done on how to channel on foxtel... they got some good mod'ing shows on there you know!?!?! just a matter of finding a supplier... anyone know a store you can get these in sydney? wholesale preferebly?
  12. 1st mod done : KENWOOD HU Was originally on sale several months ago, but no1 bought, so its been sitting under my PC ever since. Only thing i needed to do was purchase a toyota wiring harness from repco... 16 bucks, then solder it to the kenwood wiring harness. colours on all the wires matched so it was an easy job. face up face down its an old head unit so its a lil bit dusty, (but then again the car aint that new either, lol) but the overall ease of installation and the way the stock speakers sound now id give this a straight 10/10.
  13. those side mirrors are a lil smaller than stock.. not really good if you like the visability of the stock mirrors.
  14. whats his face with the AURIS plates .. hammer.. whatever he calls himself has the tte spoiler. pm him for his contact?
  15. doesnt work? if you really want to check the circuitry, ive cracked open the lense of my indicators by using fishing wire to squeeze between the lense and the chrome bit. its only held together by some clear glue. just get in between the lense and the chrome bits by pulling the wire in a dental flossing motion to get in the gap.
  16. the only real option is to get the c-ones, mould them to the stock spoiler. custom i imagine wouldnt be a huge amount cheaper than gettting hte tte spoiler. ive gone down the diy route of making the wingtips... most feedback i got for my efforts was that they resembled prawn chips.. so i didnt continue the project lol!
  17. check out advanced airbrush in minchinbury. i did work experience for them back in yr 10 when they were still at mtdruitt. they do all the vinyl ads on buses n do a lot of custom airbrush jobs on pretty much anything you can apply paint on. ive never seen them do a carbon looking job though but it wont hurt to ask. i was actually wondering the same thing the other week when i drove up to advanced airbrush to pick up their "how to airbrush" dvd... black vinyl roof + hood... hmm..
  18. FLOYD MAYWEATHER WANTS PACQUIAO!!!! Mayweathers: Floyd wants to fight Pacquiao by David Mayo | The Grand Rapids Press Tuesday December 09, 2008, 12:20 AM ORIGINAL LINK HERE <<< GRAND RAPIDS -- Floyd Mayweather Jr. wants to fight again and has reached out to his father about returning in a training capacity after their estrangement for most of the last eight years, family members said Monday. Janelle Mayweather, the boxer's cousin, told family members he called her early Sunday morning -- moments after Manny Pacquiao's stirring win over Oscar De La Hoya on Saturday night in Las Vegas -- and stated his hopes to fight again and reunite with his father. "My niece said my son told her he wanted to fight Pacquiao next, and that he wants me to train him for the fight," Mayweather Sr. said. Bernice Mayweather said she was not surprised to hear her grandson -- a five-division champion with a 39-0 record, who last fought Dec. 8, 2007 -- wants to return to the ring. "I always said he was going to fight again," she said. "It was just a matter of time. He was waiting until the time is right. And the time is right. I knew he was going to come out of retirement -- he did it before, didn't he?" Janelle Mayweather disclosed her conversation with Mayweather Jr. to family members Sunday at Bernice Mayweather's home on the southeast side. She did not return a telephone message seeking comment. Latisha Starling, another cousin of the boxer's, also was at Sunday's family get-together. Starling said she was on the phone with Janelle Mayweather throughout the Pacquiao-De La Hoya fight, "kind of giving her play-by-play." "Right after the fight ended and I hung up, Janelle said her phone rang again and she thought it was me. But it was Little Floyd, saying he wanted to fight Pacquiao and he had to get in touch with his father," Starling said. Fatimah Mayweather, the boxer's sister, also told family members she received a call from her brother, hoping to discuss resuming a working relationship with Mayweather Sr. Leonard Ellerbe, the boxer's adviser, did not return messages seeking comment. Mayweather Sr. molded his son's career until a string of disagreements led him to resign in 2001. He subsequently became one of the most-sought trainers in boxing, while his son went on to become mythical pound-for-pound king under the tutelage of Roger Mayweather, Mayweather Sr.'s brother. Mayweather Jr. may want to reunite the brothers as co-trainers, a relationship tested before the fighter's 12-round decision victory over De La Hoya last year, when Mayweather Sr. began training camp as interim trainer while his brother finished an assault sentence. Mayweather Sr. left the camp soon after his brother's release. Starling said Janelle Mayweather, in recounting to the family her conversation with Mayweather Jr., "said she asked Little Floyd, 'What happens to Roger if you do this?' and he said, 'Oh, there are enough millions to go around, they can both be in my corner.'" Mayweather Sr. said his son's reaction may be emotional -- Pacquiao assumed the pound-for-pound mantle after Mayweather Jr. retired, and defended it with a sensational eighth-round technical knockout of De La Hoya in Las Vegas -- but added that, regardless the motivation, any resumption of their working relationship would require contractual security. "I will never be dumbfounded by anything in my life again unless contracts are involved," he said. "At the end of the day, he's still my son, but I'd have to hold him accountable with a contract. I didn't have a contract first time but I never dreamed it would end like that, either." However, he said money would not be the prinicipal consideration if he entered talks with his son. "I don't need a whole bunch of money," he said. "I'm a wealthy man. I just need enough to accommodate me for the rest of my time on this earth." Mayweather Sr. added that he also received a telephone call from his son early Sunday morning but his phone was off and the message was cryptic. There's only one problem. "He didn't leave his number," Mayweather Sr. said. ________________________________________________________________________________ __ This would definately be a dream fight! I recall mayweather brushing off the idea of fighting pacquiao not long after he retired.
  19. AAAAHH damn that sucks dude! your car was a thing of beauty when i last saw you at plumpton maccas. what type of tyres are you using by the way? was speed a factor more than the quality of your tyres?
  20. it looked worse than nick diaz vs. pacquiao. manny just wore de la hoya down round by round... and there wasnt much fight in de la hoya to begin with which was a major dissapointment. was expecting manny to win in a slugfest... but this fight was very one sided. but yea... Manny won! im happy... thats all i wanna say about that :P
  21. Gday all.. For those with Foxtel, this fight is gonna cost 49.95.. ouch. For those Filipinos out there with TFC (ABS-CBN) Filipino satillite pay tv its $39.95?! Although its 10bucks cheaper and would probebly have Filipino speaking commentators, my parents have opted to watch via foxtel, since they assumed the Filipino broadcast of the fight would be beamed from to us via the Philippines, resulting in a slight delay.. plus theyve got foxtelIQ, so they can watch the fight again later. Couple more days to go until Sunday!! Ive been having arguments with my students over whos gonna win this fight haha
  22. i admit this was the one reason why i havent already gone silver.
  23. sorry to hear bout the accident... sincerely hope everything smooths itself out. you shoulda been a bit more aggressive with the cops, saying I WANT CHARGES MADE AGAINST HIM NOW! if said they "might press charges" to my face, I woulda told them to PRESS CHARGES straight away. on a side note.. although it may not be all that pleasant for you to post, do you have pics of your car after the accident?
  24. got pics of this? interested to see how this looks
