  1. A 1.5mm shift towards the outside of the wheel well coupled with an extra few mm of tyre diameter isnt much.
  2. I have a feeling you will be safe. The TRD Aurion back in the day came with 245/35/19 tyres wrapped on 19 x 8 +45 wheels from the factory. They never scrubbed, did they?
  3. It used to be a big problem with fuel sold by Shell. I'm not sure whether that is the case these days, as I've used V power a few times without any problems. I'd like to know where your most recent fuel stop was.
  4. The Z9 filter is an oil filter for the older Ford Falcons with the early 4 ltr engines, aren't they?
  5. I had 4 services with the dealers before I before I changed it myself. One dealer used 10w30, while the other used 15w40. No issues using either. I have since used Castrol edge 5w30 which is supposedly fully synthetic, yet again no issues. These Toyota/Lexus engines are happier with thinner oil due to their tighter tolerances. An engine with less than 100000km has barely been run in, so so running a thin oil is still fine.
  6. Try disconnecting the battery and reconnect after a while. This will reset the ECU and all electronic circuits. The radio will reset itself and you should be able to eject the disks. I've performed this procedure on 2 occasions and was successful on both.
  7. These key cases seem to be weak. Mine cracked on the back lid with the logo about 2 weeks back. I went online during the week to see if there are anything on replacing it, and it seems quite a few people in the States with the same key have to replace theirs. Only the case needs to be replaced, as the remote assembly in secured as one unit inside the case itself. I've seen the cases go for around $80 on gumtree, but I didn't bother replacing it as I'm not using the second key that comes with the car. You'll need to get the new key cut after changing over the remote inside.
  8. I have a friend with a white GTS with Work Meister S1, with a chrome lip and black centre. Since you don't want a black wheel, they also come aluminium finish or white. The Work emotion D9R is another great wheel. I know another guy with a white GTS who sports white Work Emotion XD9 which are now superseded by the D9R, but I honestly prefer the D9R for its thinner spokes. They come in aluminium, bronze and silver. Have a look at Rays engineering Volk racing TE37. Many 86 have them and they look tough. They come in many versions and colours. Prefer less dish? Look into Work Emotion Cr Kai. Enkei RPF1 is another great choice. Extremely lightweight from what I heard. Bronze or gold would look mint on a black car. My black Corolla Sportivo is running bronze Work Emotion XD9 and I love it.
  9. 1. The sensors inside the car decides what the temperature is inside and the temperature that the climate control is set at before setting the fan speed. In most cases, it will turn on low (1-2) before going straight to a speed or 6-7 (if it needs to) in order to clear the glass as quickly as possible. My Aurion does that, as well as my Corolla. 2. The noise will differ as the car ages. My car was literally dead silent when I picked it up brand new, but it has since developed a more audible tone. Fresh oil upon servicing will dampen the engine noise a bit until the oil breaks down during the interval, but it will never be the same as a brand new engine. The noise difference when the oil is new to when it has broken down is that the engine will whir a bit when the rpm rises to 2.5k and above. How long has it been since its last service? The engine usually gets louder after around 3-4000 km. I've driven other used Aurions and they behave the same. Try and have a listen to the engine after it is serviced to see whether the noise is dampened or not.
  10. Hey all, Just a heads up. Some 181000 Toyota models produced from 2003 to 2007 are partaking in a recall exercise. These vehicles include Echos, Corolla (including Sportivos), RAV4, Yaris and Avensis. You should all received a letter in the mail soon. http://www.toyota.com.au/news/toyota-australia-recalls-vehicles
  11. It's a decent price I'd say. With such low km's, make sure you check the service history to ensure the owner has not extended their intervals. Despite the low km's, oil needs to be replaced according to the specified month, regardless of the km's travelled.
  12. I failed to point out that I need the plug connector, not the coil pack themselves...So yeah, I'm bringing the focus down to that.
  13. Hey all, May someone please shed some light upon this matter. As the name suggests, is one ignition coil design shared across all ZZE series Corollas? I have a Sportivo and i'm under the impression that one of them needs to be replaced. I'm looking for them at the wreckers, however given how rare Sportivos are down here in Melbourne, I was wondering whether I can interchange them for one coming from a 1zz engine. Cheers guys.
  14. Wait wait, made in Thailand? I'm pretty sure it was assembled in the Altona plant over here in Melbourne. I'll give you some credit for the fact you see plenty of Thai made parts in various parts of the car.
  15. Toyota is the parent company of Lexus. As such, many of their parts are share amongst their production models. Same thing applies to their stud pattern. The stud pattern of 5 x 114.3 is shared between many Toyota, Lexus, Ford, Mazda and Honda, just to name a few.
  16. Click on your username on the dashboard towards the top of the website. Click on your profile. The next page will show the icon 'edit profile' towards the top. Search for 'display name' on the set of tabs on the left hand side. You will gain the ability to change your username there.
  17. 90000 km is the major service, 105000 km is a minor service, so is 120000km. The only exception is that the brake fluid needs to be replaced at 120000 km. So all up, engine oil and filter and brake fluid replacement are required for the 120000km service. Coolant, I believe, needs to be replaced at 150000km.
  18. The colour would be tungsten. The symptom of the car pulling sharply to the left is just torque steer. Given its the front wheel drive car, the amount of power pushed to the wheels just overwhelms it, because the front wheels are responsible for 2 jobs, driving the car and steering simultaneously. Perfectly normal for front wheel drive vehicles. Some FWD cars exhibit it more than others. Nothing to be worried about.
  19. Seeing as the Kluger shares the same engine as the Aurion, I can recommend you Castrol Edge 5w30. Being a fully synthetic (despite being one of those cheaper types), it does a much better job then the genuine oil or the oil the Toyota dealers use at their workshops. It runs smoother for longer, and cleans the engine really well. Being the weight of oil that it is, it aids fuel economy and cold start ups. Try and get them when they are on special, as they drop to around half their price on regular occasions at either Repco or Supercheapauto.
  20. Hey all, One question to you; how do you repack the rear wheel bearing with grease? One of the rears went so I got a replacement for it. Before I install it, I want to know where the grease goes. It is encompassed in the hub, with the ABS module behind the hub. I believe that the bearing itself is within, but I'm not sure how to get to it. Point me to the right direction please. Thanks all.
  21. Hey Matt, How are you doing. It's been a long time hasn't it? Quite a few of us have departed over the past year or so. It's good to see you still remember us as a group. Still got your car and still treating you well?
  22. Still under warranty? Go to the dealer and take advantage of the capped price servicing of $130.
  23. but does it have 18 kappa wheels and sat nav? bear in mind the levin zr didn't come with sat nav as standard.
