Missing button - 2010 Aurion Sportivo ZR6
Noodle Boy replied to Maffy715's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
I own a 2010 model ZR6 myself and can confirm that mine has the rear sunshade and the button in said area was there all along. I bought the car brand new in 2010 and was told the facelifted Prodigy, ZR6 and Presara models came with it as standard. As Tony said, it's been pulled out and never replaced. I vaguely remember another member stating that theirs' was an ex-Cop, 50 series ZR6 and the button is also missing because the radio/ walkie talkie resided in that spot and the button was never replaced upon the radio being removed and the car being sold. -
Aurion Oil Filter Housing Removal

Excellent tyres by the way. I have driven around 15k km on my set and have no complaints. Extremely quiet and absorbs the bumps very well. Barely any wear on the front pair from what I can see. -
corolla South Africa Vs Japan Build
Noodle Boy replied to the_bug's topic in Corolla / Corolla Sportivo Club
Check the VIN on the placard in the engine bay. First three letter AHT denotes SA built, JTD denotes Japanese built. The Corolla Sportivo of that era all came from SA, for the record. I'm aware that the majority of the parts came from Japan regardless of where the vehicle was assembled, however the seams and gaps are known to be more consistent on Japanese built vehicles. -
I saw your post on my FB news feed late last week, Kay, and I find it rather scary as I live right next door in Thommo. Glad that you weren't harmed and hope your car will be found in one piece, however I've been hearing about car theft over near Dalton Rd one too many times in the past year. To everyone else caught in this situation, try and surrender your car and let the thief run off with the car as your life is not worth potential injury/death.

Some will argue to check when left mobile for extended hours so all the oil has the chance to settle down to the oil pan, some will say to check after the engine is warmed up and rested for 5-10 minutes. Mechanics at the dealership I used to work at would follow the latter method, but I never bothered to questioned them as to why.

You didn't flush the heater core, did you? -
I think it's the other way round.

The facelifted gsv40, which i currently own, demands service intervals of 9 months or 15000km, whichever comes first. Toyota seemed somewhat reluctant to extend the service intervals with the earlier models. However, i still restrict the intervals to 9 months but not exceeding 10000km for safe measure.

The bigger picture is to note that the average consumption reading resets itself every time you fill up the tank. To ensure an accurate reading, I would drive around for a while and allow the reading to settle before checking. Sometimes taking off from the servo will make it read 29ltr/100km, let alone 22 ltr/100km. However you need to give it some time to adjust.

Yeah, you're right. They're essentially the BC Racing BR series internals wrapped with Pedder's own coil springs, which are made here in Melbourne.

I have a set on my Corolla and have ran them for approx. 40000km now without any issues whatsoever. The owner prior had run them for approx. another 5-10000km. They are a bit harsh compared to their more expensive equivalents, however for their price you can probably live with that. Mine contains the camber tops therefore adjustments are made with ease. Height and pre-load adjustments can be done yourself in your driveway, using the provided C spanners and a pair/set of jack stands. I've yet to service them, however I don't expect they would need it anytime soon.

To OP, are they FG XR6 wheels? Otherwise, good choice as they fit the guards well.- 6 replies

Hey guys, I'm just after a set of slim weathershields for my zze corolla. Genuine examples within Melbourne are preferable. Post here or pm me. Cheers.

No. They can fit the zre182 sedans, but not the hatches. The wheels are made according to the Subaru stud pattern which is 5 x 100. The Corollas in that generation which can fit that wheel are the sedans which were made in Thailand. The hatchback production was retained in Japan which retained their traditional 5 x 114.3 stud pattern design.

Exhaust could be leaking, causing it to be sluggish. The lift hesitating to engage properly could be due to the pcv valve being gunked up overtime, usually caused by poor service maintenance. You could try and clean it out. Theres a tutorial somewhere on this website. Or even try and resetting the ecu perhaps.

Sorry to hijack the thread; is that a tyre shop in Epping? Opposite Hungry Jack's?

Aurion 'Pull Left' Issue Explained
Noodle Boy replied to Jacob12's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
Tyres play a small factor, especially if all 4 are wearing evenly. Directional tyres, however, are known to be a culprit for pulling to one side. The trick is to fiddle with the caster, then camber. Toe plays a very small factor in pull. Go to a well known suspension shop and ask them to perform a proper wheel alignment, adjusting camber, caster and toe. Do not come to believe that the adjustments are limited to none. It can be a bitch to do, but there is some adjustment and those adjustments go a long way. I spent $100 on a wheel alignment at centreline suspenion in north metro melbourne which has lasted me 20000km/2 years without any pull, with even tyre wear and is still tracking straight. Don't bother with those $250/300 caster bush kits.
