  1. Looks like a red devil with those eyelids Perfect colour choice for the wheels too, nothing goes with red like black!
  2. Postponing the meet to a couple weeks time, or cancelling it, meaning the next meet will be the dyno day?
  3. Contrary to my last post, the CAI was the first thing to be done, DIY stealth style(with the help of a few mates) But while we were installing the CAI, we noticed the diff/gearbox leaking. How bad does it look?
  4. There is a comment I would love to make, except it'd be a breach of the swearing rules :P I like this car, it's very different without being over the top. Now if you were to paint the whole car satin/matt/flat black, it'd look like a new age rat rod :D
  5. So are we just going to have a game of bowling, eat, another game then we all head our separate ways? Or will there be something to follow after AMF? Ie: Photoshoot, dinner, etc?
  6. Does the Sahara have a trip computer? (I assume it does since it gives you range until empty) It may be adjustable, where you set the size of the tank to create a provision for a 'reserve'. Some cars will allow you to set the tank size to a specific number, eg: 50 Litres. From a full tank, once 50 Litres have been used, the trip computer would read that distance to empty is 0, but there is still 10/20/30+ Litres in the tank.
  7. It's a bit rough looking as it is, but if its good mechanically, then it's easily worth what you paid and should clean up nicely with some fresh panels. :) Is the chassis all good? Ie: not bent/rusted. Best of luck with the pink slip. If you wish to keep the car fully legal, 35% black tint would be the way to go. But if you wish to take your chances, 20% black or reflective would be nice and wouldn't hurt visibility too much at night.
  8. Minor update: I have pretty much everything I need now to do a cheapo CAI, but won't be installing that until I've taken care of plugs, leads and flushed the clutch fluid as the clutch pedal is a bit on the soft side. Those of you who have seen my car in person may or may not have noticed that the front lip has a crack in it. I've decided to ignore it up until now, and I'm thinking of having it repaired, or simply replace the lip. I've come across a front lip to suit my car, which is in good condition, except it is in red. How much would I be looking at to: A: get my current front lip repaired and painted B: get the red lip, prep it for paint and send it off to be painted C: get the red lip, then send it off to be prepped and painted. I'm not sure if I'm game enough to paint it myself XD I can get a photo of the crack in the front lip on request.
  9. Haha there is no harm in doing some light mods to your daily driver, if anything it will differentiate it from the other corolla's out there, and will be easier to find in a carpark XD. Good list of current and future modifications, all quite sensible.
  10. Sick aurion! Never thought someone would take a slammed car onto the beach haha. Not much of a fan of the DRL's but each to their own :)
  11. Nice little EP3, I prefer the look of these over the new type R's. Awesome power from just an intake, I'm curious as to how much the EP3 weighs, should go real quick if its a light car. And how do these go as a daily driver, they go ok in the low revs?
  12. Some bad ones I have come across are Pound Road, near where it intersects the South Gippy Highway, it was really bad a few months ago but has improved now. Another bad one is Heatherton Road, going eastbound from Endeavour Hills, poor visibility at night, bumpy as hell.
  13. That's a bit odd running back to back, no time to make changes to see if you can raise the power output. In that case it is probably wise to get there as early as possible. And that does open the door for TOCAU members to take off after everyone is done and continue our meet elsewhere.
  14. it starts at 11, you reckon we're gna take all after noon ? i mean, taken factor that its not only us that is going to be running, but as soon as the members from tocau are done, we go to our meet :3 Afaik, there will be two runs per person, so I assume everyone has a run, then it's round 2 for everyone to have their second run. Another thing to consider is the turnout, I have seen this dyno day advertised on at least two other forums, so there could be a fair few people so unlikely all TOCAU members will have both runs done by then. As long we all are parked up together, could still make a decent meet out of the dyno day.
  15. Given your car is only a few years old, the original shocks should still have plenty of life in them. I suspect that the change in camber will depend on how low you go with springs. Just keep an eye out for the change in camber, and uneven tyre wear after lowering. If you are lowering an inch or so, then there should be few if any adverse effects, just go a bit slower over speedbumps and the like.
  16. Attending List: 1. Tash 2. Dwee 3. Jeffy - hopefully car would be finished by then, loving the progress on it check my page ;) 4. Tofuboi - OMFG! 5. KRS093 Either location is fine by me, don't really have a preference for the activity either, though bowling may be tad more appropriate?
  17. Turbo 2ZZGE, sounds like it's going to blow the doors off a lot of cars! does the 2ZZ have stock internals or has it been replaced with more boost friendly items?
  18. 3rd rim looks the goods. Can't go wrong with flat or gloss black, machined/polished lip optional. Would tie in with your red/black theme as well.
  19. Nice car dude. Are the maintenance costs high for this car? I did want one at some stage.
  20. That's pretty unfortunate. Probably would be a good idea to source a 2nd HDD or an external to have a backup copy of files. But thanks for the heads up, it should stop people asking for something that sadly no longer exists.
  21. Sits pretty nicely as it is now. Good thing about coilovers is you can play around with the height to get a nice compromise between looks and driveability (not scraping on everything). Or simply adjust the height for the situation.
  22. The wheels look nice, when they going onto the car? That site has 2 sound files. Is one the premium horn, and one factory, or are they two different premium horns?
  23. I think the solution to this problem, is to be the owner of the old beat up car XD! For carparks that are partially undercover, i tend to park out in the sun, hardly anyone will park there until the undercover area fills up.
  24. Sounds good Might bring the Seca down and see if it even has enough power to turn the dyno rollers
  25. I'm thinking of picking up a G-Tech to get some performance readings off my cars. I've spotted a few of the old black rectangular ones on ebay, and then you have the newer models which seem to have more features. All I'm really after atm is 0-100km times, and a 'guestimate' of power and torque, which would do well for seeing how mods affect performance. Is anyone on here familiar with using these G-Tech's, and what model is better bang for buck?
