  1. Thats actually interesting to hear. Do you know what offset/width your rims are? I am running 215/40's on a 17x7 rim with an offset of +42 and I dont have any issues at all, from memory Northy was running the same rim/tyre size with his Cusco's and had no scrubbing issues as far as I am aware. Maybe your scrubbing is an offset/wheel width issue? That was one thing I forgot to mention to you Cee, if you are careful with your width/tyre etc choice, you shouldn't have any issues, but once again, I will leave it for the guys that run 18's to comment as I haven't had anything that big on the car before.
  2. Firstly, Welcome to TOCAU. In relation to your questions re: Shocks. The general consensus here is that if you lower the car at all, the stock shocks will wear out alot faster. My stock ones were still ok after 15,000k with lowered springs (Whiteline, 30mm drop) but I can't comment from personal experience after 15,000k as that was when I upgraded to Koni's. I may have just gotten lucky with the shocks, but the car was still very new at the time too, which could explain why they lasted that long. I seem to recall one or two people having issues with 18's rubbing, but once again, I run 17's, so I will let someone else comment there. These issues could be offset/tyre size related too, so once again, someone who runs 18's should be able to point you in the right direction. JC
  3. I will be there mate, just let me know when and where. Kinda glad you haven't got the snowflake anymore, I'm still washing stains out of my undies from that first cruise all those years ago . . . . .
  4. No mate, this is not true at all. I can confirm that 100%.

  6. The answer you seek is in your glovebox. The manual has all your specs for oil etc.
  7. Bout time you came back to the fold Ash. Good to see you again last night too mate. Can't wait to see this one evolve like the last one. :D
  8. :o Let us never speak of my minor indiscretion again. Note to self, men cannot do two things at once, hold breath when need to get shifting right. . . . . . . B)
  9. Holy massive 1st to 2nd mis-shift on departure batman . . . . . . :( Good to see some of the old crew there last night.
  10. Yeah to be honest I think they are aftermarket tail lights for the sake of aftermarket tail lights. Way too busy for mine. Each their own though I guess.
  11. I think the wheel thing is a really good example here. I wasn't even considering imported wheels until I discovered that if you have a look around, you can actually pick them up at a decent price. I suppose budget can be an issue. And in the age of instant gratification that we live in, people are more likely to buy a knock off that is readily available and cheap, as opposed to importing parts etc. It is certainly a bit of a worry that if things were to get to a worst case scenario we may be left without wonderful devices like Rays wheels, apexi PFC's etc etc. That really would be a shame, as I am definitely a convert to the genuine JDM stuff after buying my rims, I even had people who know nothing about cars commenting on how well made they looked when I took them out of the box.
  12. would you read it if i typed in 'txt tlk'? haha OMGWTFLOLCAT!!!!!11111 Ths thrd tkles teh bg ishuus. kthxbai. Ladies and gentlemen, we now return you to normal programming. :D
  13. I think there are some valid arguments both ways. However, I think the blatant stealing of ideas and design is the main issue. If Trust and Greddy were put out of business by companies manufacturing products that were different to theirs but cheaper and as effective, they would have nothing to complain about. Thats just healthy competition. I think in this case, its more an issue that the copiers are making blatant copies of a wheel/part/whatever, and even going to lengths (ie: RAVS VORK/RAYS VOLK) to relate their copied product back to the original genuine product. I have an issue with borderline copyright infringement moreso than healthy competition. Having said this, if companies like Trust and Greddy were interested in their long term future, it could be said that they should maybe have seen this coming and spent more in advertising overseas to ensure that their name was protected and people knew the difference between their product and the knock offs. I think here in Australia we still suffer from being so far away from the rest of the world, I can't imagine many CEO's of Japanese performance companies taking Australian markets into consideration when designing or marketing a product when they have been able to survive for so many years without the Aussie market, especially given that our business would have to be a very small percentage of their turnover. Love a good discussion guys, keep it up. :)
  14. Canberra would be great. For the QLDers that would attend, we can crash my little bro's house in Trangie NSW (bout an hour west of Dubbo) at half way (or thereabouts), I will tell him to get the beers on ice, plenty of parking and room to crash etc. Maybe I should let him know . . . . . . nah, that wouldn't be any fun. :D JC
  15. Brennden (SB) would be the best to talk to mate. The sponsors were mainly contacts that SB has up here in the industry, a toyota dealer, CES, etc etc Flick SB, Azza or Northy a PM mate, they had a fair bit to do with it.
  16. Looks awesome Michelle. Silver FTW!!!!! Love your choice of Head Unit too. B)
  17. thanks... tempted to paint these wheels Black...... I think your better off leaving them as is. I love gunmetal wheels on a light coloured car, but then again, I may be biased . . . . .
  18. Looks awesome mate. Love the dark wheels on the white. Colour coded mudflaps FTW!!! B)
  19. what is the "time attack" look? I think it refers to the black rim with coloured stripe around the outside. But, what is a "time attack"? Should I be on the lookout for said attack? Rims look great btw. B)
  20. Try some of the traders on Ozhonda.com mate, there were plenty of Jap import and imitation Jap wheels on there when I looked last.
