  1. I'm guessing, but I figure the ZR Celica would be an upgrade in terms of specification (interior etc) but I have heard rumors that the Corolla Sportivo is faster in stock form. Depends what your looking for mate, personally I love the fact that my Sportivo looks like a Corolla with a bodykit, makes it easier to frighten the pants off those who dont know that its going to scream like a banshee when you hit 6000rpm . . . . :D
  2. Ok, so I'm jumping the gun a little, but these babies will be on my car as of tomorrow. Rays G-Games 77m (the blue bit is a plastic protection strip, not an anodised lip for those of you playing at home)
  3. I have it on good authority that Grandpa JC fell asleep on the couch last night at around 8, and awoke to messages from Mr North at about 11pm. Sorry team, will try and make it out next week so you can all meet Ray.
  4. Just booked mine in to have the Bridgestone Adrenalins fitted on Saturday, 215/40/17 and an alignment for a tick under $1050. Will let you know how they go, but somehow I dunno if traction comparisons with my car are going to help you Billy Boy.
  5. Mr North has advised me that I will be out tonight. So I guess I will see you all at the pool at 9pm JC
  6. Good call mate, you are 100% correct, dont waste your coin peoples, I spent a total of about $13 for all parts I think it was. One thing to be aware of with this mod though guys and girls, I found after about a week, I started talking differently and wearing my hat off to the side, I have also developed an overwhelming urge to 'grind' the handrails on the stairs at work . . . Never mind, maybe its just me.
  7. That which has an advantage, or has excelled further from that which it once was before. Lol, touche . . . . What I am getting at is that alot of different punters look for alot of different results when it comes to a muffler. I love the one on my CES system because it doesnt drone, cackle or bark and has a nice note under acceleration. But some others may be looking for a stock sounding option where others again may be looking for loud noise, which would make the CES the wrong option for them.
  8. They are all soft. ;) Guys I just got the full package (headers, intake and exhaust) installed yesterday. The difference is unbelievable! I also note that installation of the CES package makes a massive difference to the size of the smile on Nate's face . . . . . . . :D You guys should have seen him, kid in a candy store type stuff, enjoy mate.
  9. Ford - F..ked On Race Day Ford - Fix Or Repair Daily Fiat - Fix It Again Tony Hyundai - Here's Y U'll Never Drive Another Import Holden - Holes, Oil Leaks, Dings & Engine Noises Im sure there are heaps more . . . . .
  10. Prompt service with a smile. Love your work Clarence. H7 6000k it is then!! Let me know when you need some coin and I will send it across for those parker LED's as well. Might need to enlist the help of uncle's Bren and Corey on this one, we don't want the dreaded fingers making another appearance . . . . . JC
  11. Ok, HID noob here. 1. H4, H7 etc Im guessing are sizes/models? And I need H7 yeah? 2. The hi-lo kit part I think I have my head around . . . lol 3. 4000k, 6000k I'm guessing is the intensity of the light? Im really not after something that is going to attract a heap of attention, but I still want to be able to see, anyone got any recommendations? So, can I get a Hi/Lo beam kit to suit a facelift sportivo thats not going to blind the oncoming traffic but still allow good visibility at night? Cheers, JC
  12. Did this on the weekend. Total cost $13.50 (and I have left over washers to fix my leaky tap in the laundry!!!!!) I must admit, I was shocked at the difference this made. Easy as, cheap, and it works. Cheers for that BKS.
  13. Mate, if the only thing stopping you from buying Koni's is the fact that you need to modify the front strut slightly, why not see if you can pick up a spare set of front struts from a wrecker or on here? I have seen them go for next to nothing. In fact, I threw a set of stock rears in my wheelie bin last week . . . . They are a perfect match for the Whiteline springs too. I actually contacted Whiteline to see if they did a shock to match their springs, I was told they just recommend Koni's to go with them. JC
  14. Mate I think with car audio its more a personal choice. Set your budget, and then listen to everything in that price range, when you hear the ones you like, thats your decision made. I have the Alpine Type R splits in the front (co-axials in the rear) and I love them, but I know of plenty of other people with the same budget who liked a Hertz, MB Quart etc product in the same price range better, so just go with the ones you like the sound of, and make sure you listen to your own style of music on them too, not just the store demo CD. Whatever you do, regardless of what you go with, amp them properly, or your wasting your money in the first place. JC
  15. Can we get a mod in here to clean up all this spam please?
  16. Just a side note, if your looking for somewhere neat and tidy to bring a cable through the dash for your MP3 player, I used the flip down door below the climate control (above the ashtray) for my iPod cable from the Alpine deck. Basically just drilled a hole in the back of the pocket, works perfectly cause even if I leave the iPod in the car, it cannot be seen from the outside. JC
  17. I'm glad your coming Russ. There is something I need to ask you . . . . .
  18. Saw you at the last minute and waved madly mate, but you were gone. I had a question I really needed to ask you too . . . . . . . . Spotted Azza on the same day on the way back from the old Sportivo Central, sad to see that era come to an end actually.

I preese maka oodar de digitar camerar? Will any of this stuff fit on 1zz? Russ?
  20. Come on you kids, play nice please, or you will both have to go to your rooms. . . :P I thought we were talking about supercharged 2zz's? Edit: All this talk about dynos . . . . . is anyone willing to put their money where their mouth is with dynos not being as reliable as a dragstrip? I will stand by Bills comments that dynos are not an infallibly ACCURATE measuring tool. Yes, dynos are a tool for measuring, and they are very accurate, but their output depends on what information is being fed to them. I bet anyone here that I can show you an inaccurate dyno printout that says their car has at least 20kw more than their MPH at the end of the strip says they have. I would say that I am willing to pay for the dyno time/strip time etc for the comparison, but I reckon people on this forum are sick of hearing promises like that, and they wouldn't beleive me . . . . .
  21. A DIY Turbo/SC kit? Already seen a few of these go wrong. I would go for something tried and tested. If you really have to worry about what a turbo or Supercharged sportivo/1zz is going to cost you . . . . then you can't afford it. DIY is all well and good, but as we have all seen, they dont always go as planned . . . . . . . .
  22. Precisely. And what customers want in a large car in Australia is RWD. Like it or lump it, thats the way it is mate, and its not likely to change any time soon. I drive a FWD car, but there is no arguing with how well loved RWD cars are in Australia. You might as well urinate into a gentle breeze.
  23. atm there is my old 1zz, my sportivo, mums wagon and cousins levin Did you hear that Russ? Corey DEFINITELY knows the answer to the 6 million dollar question . . . . . . . ;)
