That's wrong, I saw three Aurions side by side on a dyno, and it was reading 488.8KW

What the sh*t...It's got like 200-210HP, which is around 160kW.

You'd better get your sarcasm meter checked.

It turns of when it's past my bed time. Well, I know google is everyone's friend, but might as well just answer his question. That being said...sleep time.

Before this gets out of hand, I have to use some of DJKOR's images (all credit to him) to bust some myths.

Standard Aurion has been measured at (linked to forum):

Chris - 193.1HP (144kW)

Daryl - 209.9HP (156.5kW)

Rowan - 199.7HP (149kW)

TRD 263.5HP (196.5kW):

I bought this mechanism from ebay that says if I plug it into my motor I'll get double the power. So I'm actually pulling 860kw at the wheels.

I've seen those! It also says a side effect is to expect 1/300th the typical service life of the engine...... :P

All kidding aside, the important questions are :-

1. Have you plugged it in?

2. Does it work?

3. Is the vehicle still in one piece i.e. you haven't ripped the front end off because of the Sh&tcrazy boost?

I'm more concerned about how much power it has at the rear wheels....

Is this a trick question? It'd be zero, wouldn't it?

Negative, due to internal friction in the bearing and brake drag forces?

i was about to say 488 kw ?? thats totally f***** !! 160kw sounds more like it.... but what about when the car is new.... so i can see how many kw my car has lost.

I did mine on the same day as Darius to provide the stock benchmark, running 98RON (shell). But I only did one run, so I dunno if I could have gotten a higher figure or not. My car had just been given its 1000K service, so I think that the figure is pretty close to as good as it gets for a standard aurion.

There is this site that was introduced some time around 1997 that makes it easy to research that data. Click here to be taken there. Because really, we would be getting the data from the same place. Even more useful may be the following site: Click here.

Because I'm generous, to get you started, V6 VE Commodores from around the same era are mentioned to be around 130-150rwkW. This one is showing a little higher than that, but you be the judge.

how does the aurion compare to the falcon and commodore when it comes down to the power at the wheels?

It compares as much as any Apples and/or Oranges would.

What's with the 200kW quoted in the specs by Toyota then?

If it's 400++kW at the wheels, then Toyota must mean 200kW at the ...............?
