This confirms my little monthly Japanese motor book that has the release shape of the FT86. Its spot on. This IS the final consumer shape/lights etc.

Study this:

Gazoo is the pseudonym of Toyota President and CEO, Akio Toyoda. His blog is gazoo.com ...

This is Toyoda-san, which gives the images quite a bit of credit:

That's quite a bit higher than Toyota Australia's target 'early $30,000's' starting price (see GoAuto).

April might be a little early to hope for too, with the mid-2012 timing from the GoAuto article more accurate. I've said as much as I can ...

haha. the front looks like some kind of angry Pokemon with its mouth gaping opening. possibly to suck in anything in its way

the rear does look very dissapiintibg I like the ft-86 II Rear concept more

Interior is fairly tame compared to the concept too?

Wonder what happened to the turbocharged model idea..... Bit sad that they will have awesome handling and balance but not super awesome straight line punch to slingshot you out of a corner. Brake package doesn’t look anything overtly special either...

Lol I'll probably get the gt apex if it comes here. But I'd also wait for a turbo kit which will come as this will be a tuner's car. The only thing I would be worried about is the reputation it is going to have with the cops. It will be picked on like the wrx'es when every man and his dog goes sideways around corners.

Because the GT is the base model - AE86 Levins/Truenos were GT, GTV, GT Apex in order of base-model to top-spec (although the AE92/101/111s went GT, GT-Apex, GTZ)

Brakes - probably similar to what the TRD Aurion packs

Power - very disappointing in something which can only be marketed as a sports car and with an RRP that high

Handling - Likely the only strong point of the vehicle

Appears it will be one sexy beast with no balls

Not sure if its ugly or pretty... but i still want one :)
