First Generation Celica for me.. i remember getting a lift back in the 80's in one and loved it :)

7th gen wins mechanically for me. The first gen still looks the best though.

what about the 5th? i just think they got it right with the 5th just the looks are amazing the pop up headlights whatever happend to pop up headlights? were they just a fashion thing?

Pop-up headlights disappeared because they are horrible from a pedestrian safety standpoint...

As for which Gen I prefer, it'd have to be either an RA23 (ie Gen 1.5) or ST16x (Gen 4)

I love my 7th Gen ZZT231 and prefer it to all other gen's but if I was ever to buy a second celica, it would be a TA22 for sure :P

I've always liked the third generation Celica with the 22R-E engine. I learned to drive in a Corona with a 22R-E engine, gave me a strong appreciation of torquey fuel-injected engines in rear drive cars :)

Aside from that, I reckon if you put the rear end of the sixth gen on the front end of the fifth gen, you'd have the ideal Celica looks-wise.
