stock 1zzfe gear knob weighs 600odd grams

And there's a specific reason for that.

The weight gives more leverage to your shift allowing easier shifts.

The reason I haven't changed mine is I haven't found a nice looking one that has the correct weight.

  • 4 weeks later...

just stripped my car seats out....

L seat - 3 kg

R seat - 4.5 kg

L backrest + headrest - 9 kg

R backrest + headrest - 13kg

Side bolsters - 2kg

total for everything covered in leather ~ 31.5 kg

Now remove the passenger seat and all the boot trim, spare wheel and tools and I'm guessing another 25-30kg!!

passenger seat is staying, spare and tools come out at the track ;)

all the wall trim in the boot is staying too, too fidly to take out.

on another note, you'll be very proud Brennden... I cleaned the interior after I took it out amd all I can say is that I'll keep taking it out every time I clean it now. It was soooo easy to get into the hard to reach areas and took half the time :) :D

Just wonder why the Right Seat is 1.5kg heavier than the Left Seat?
