  1. Like Dylan i've also seen Luke's dyno sheet with TRD CAI/ Exhaust it has over 120kw atw so the exhaust must have done something. But back to diameter of exhasut piping, the stock is 2.25inch already isn't it and has 1 resonator and 1 cat. But not trying to diss the CES system, it is a well made system and sounds good imo, as to loudness its gotta be if you are after more power especially NA, wack on a turbo or S/C and everything will quieten down :P
  2. I thought Dave's got DBA slotted discs on his Stivo?
  3. Hehe, good on you man :P But this International Day of Peace has been seriously played down by stakeholders and politicians around the world.. If any of you have seen the documentary you will know that these people with money and power don't want peace in the world, it is too "scary" a prospect for them to contemplate. Interesting to see this topic has only been read 13 times, shows how much interest people really have on a topic like this <_<
  4. Nice wheels Dylan! Time for a Sunday drive to Nth Beach!!
  5. 21st of September is the Day. I saw the broadcasted documentary today on SBS and i can only say i am deeply inspired. Last year 630million people around the world celebrated the United Nations International Day of Peace. :) "The Peace One Day film project began as the vision of British director Jeremy Gilley. Launched in 1999, with the support of countless individuals and organisations, the film documented and inspired the establishment of the United Nations International Day of Peace as a day of global ceasefire and non-violence, now fixed in the calendar as 21 September annually. To purchase your DVD copy of the Peace One Day feature documentary please click here - it helps us to continue. All sectors of society are being asked to honour and celebrate the Day on the 21 September. The vision of the Day extends far beyond the cessation of violent conflict and represents an opportunity for individuals to join in a moment of global unity." Peace One Day
  6. What's "Apexera" PowerFC Craig? :P ← ok may as well cats out of the bag, its the new ECU thats going into my car on friday, Apexi USA are now a diff company to Apexera, Apexera now make the Power FC. ← I thought for a second Craig couldn't spell :P But good on ya Northy, keep us posted on the gains with the Power FC, and of course the raised redline Is it hard to find a tuner and is it any cheaper now that Apexera manufactures it?
  7. That's what i want to know from him, the details of his conertion.. maybe i should try emailing him or if anyone knows more about his car please PM me ;)
  8. there was a PugGti180 at wakefield park with 195/50 RT215 on steel rims and we ran each other for a full day.. back the my car was stock standard and it was quick but not as quick as i expected. I also sat in it for about 10laps and it gripped ok being a passenger, the tyres didn't squeal one bit but i could feel it lose grip in the tighter hairpins. So yeh i guess they are more street tyres and i heard they really suck in the wet. Looks good though :P
  9. 10. Welcome to the forum man, nice ride u got there.. a real sleeper of an EG6. Care to tell me more of your ride off topic? ;)
  11. Best way to run it in is take it up a mountain pass or at the race track :P
  12. Zee i dont think that it would impact the piggy back chips much as it helps the stock ECU, i would be thinking in the order of 1-2kw at the most ← Northy i also came across an old thread the other day on resetting the ECU and someone mentioned that the ECUs in newer cars nowadays are self learning, not like the old days when it was necessary to do it every now and again at each service. I also noticed with my Stivo its performance picks up noticeably after i drive it hard for a couple of minutes. It kind of proves to me the ECU adjusts to your driving style and if you are flooring it, initially it may feel weak but after a minute or two of hard driving you will feel the car becoming stronger. Why i say this is also because when we run our cars on the dyno, the 2nd run is usually the better run and produces more power. Z
  13. That too will also have to wait for me to get some tyres or some rims or both... ← Come on Marcus sell Dylan the Wedsports so he can come out and play with us :D
  14. Let's wait to see what Dylan gets with his CES in the coming weeks.. but i guess his dyno showed some gains with a CAI. ;) ← you'll be waiting until next dyno day, I've got other things to spend my money on... and need to wait for the Exhaust to carbon up... ← Ok Dylan i will wait.. :P when is the next dyno day btw? in the meantime care for a Wakefield Park day? Dave, Sydney boys?
  15. Let's wait to see what Dylan gets with his CES in the coming weeks.. but i guess his dyno showed some gains with a CAI. ;)
  16. I said I'd get it done ASAP and here it is... it says 3rd gear but if you look at the speed on the bottom scale you will realise that it was an operator input error... it was 4th gear!!! This is for the AEM CAI... the stock run was 115.0 kW ← Holy smokes!! :o **falls off chair** Hey Dylan, i would like to do another run on mine after using Vortex98 for a while now.. how much is it gonna cost me since i am non-member.
  17. Just out of curiousity has anyone noticed any benefits by doing the ECU reset? And what happens if you have an aftermarket Unichip or piggy back chip, and Toyota does this ECU reset to your car. Does it mean you need to retune the Unichip etc?
  18. Man you guys serious?? 420kms with 98Octane!? My Stivo with 35,000kms now can easily pull 550-600kms and if i drive sedately i can get 650kms or more, but i usually top up with a minimum of 1/4 tank.. and 140kms with 91Octane now that's really hard to believe, isn't the 1zzfe tuned to run on 91Octane? My mom's 98' model 2.2 Camry runs 91Octane and get 600kms easy. I reckon you guys need some proper servicing to rectify the issue..
  19. that's the problem they can't keep it at that price when the Jap sourced Levin is more expensive than the SA built Sportivo.. if they were to come from Jap it will more likely be around the mid $30grand mark..
  20. Got to go with Castrol Syntrax full synthetic 75W90 + Nulon G70 transmission additive :P 1L Castrol Syntrax = $25 so x 3 = $75 plus about $15 for G70 so grand total is $90. It seems to work well together, like Fusion or Synergy :D
  21. Stainless Steel is usually used for looks as far as i know, for intercooler piping or intake piping aluminium is the way to go. High quality Silicon is also possible like what APS uses.
  22. That's because they don't exist Zee, all Woolworths Plus here don't have Vortex98, only normal Caltex do. So I fill up with discount whenever I'm in Liverpool or Heathcote ;) the VISA dicount is only until the end of the month too I think Would be good if they kept it on perminantly... ← You're right Dylan, all Caltex stations that offer Vortex 98 in the Illawarra are not affiliated with Woolworths :( But at least we get a share of the 50 outlets in Sydney and Illawarra.. the VIC/WA boys are not as lucky as us to have tasted Vortex98 power :P
  23. I will stick with 98 bcuz u never know when u will get a bad batch, at least o couple of Octane below 98RON is still safe but with 95RON i wouldn't like to try. Also something with Caltex Vortex 98, the last dyno day a STOCK Stivo with Vortex 98 pulled 115kw atw while 2 other Stivos with TRD CAI and using BP Ultimate ran 113kw and 114kw atw respectively. So maybe, just maybe Caltex Vortex 98 gives a little bit more power. But with petrol prices being so darn expensive now i might just revert back to BP Ultimate which is 3cents cheaper than Vortex 98 here :( . It is also hard to find a Caltex station that offers Vortex 98 with the 4cents discount in the Illawarra and i usually have to fill up when i'm in Sydney. They have also recently introduced a 8cent discount deal if you use your discount voucher and Visa Card to pay for the fuel. Last week i paid $1.32 for Vortex 98 using the 8cent offer which i think is bloody good! :D
  24. So i guess only NSW has Vortex 98?? It uses the same forumla as Vortex 95 which has a detergent to clean the engine (same as BP Ultimate and Shell Optimax) but now with a higher density 98 Octane fuel. I don't know exactly if it contains Octane booster like Shell's Optimax but from what the service station guy told me its pure high density 98 Octane fuel. It costs 12cents more than regular unleaded. Its wierd though, at some places BP's Ultimate cost 9cents more and at other places it costs 12cents more I have been using Vortex 98 for a while now and i average 550kms (with hard driving) to 600kms (minimal hard driving), but i fill up around the 1/4 mark and usually requires 45-50 litres and now costs me close to $70 :(
