  1. Given the spirit of Thursday I think it's a good day to be a little festive. I'll bring some drinks of varying kinds on Thursday, I'll be a little late as I need to help Anthony get his vehicle back edit: non-alcoholic however.
  2. He uses 2 brands of paints but for a job where cost isn't a primary concern he would use the Spies Hecker stuff.
  3. Try removing the spark plugs from the rear bank of a 5th generation Camry v6. Extraordinarily difficult without removing the air chamber cause it overhangs over the spark tubes which is amplified by the large angle at which the engine sits. Then you can complain!
  4. Oh boo hoo! Just buy a set of rims with staggered offsets. Will make it tough doing a 'proper' rotation but you'll get flushness!
  5. You will need a mod plate for them as they are non-standard, especially with the brackets. That's for QLD anyway.
  6. Not sure what all the Ultratune bashing is about... The business was never going to be theirs as I explained to them that the car was going to Toyota for service Stemming from my experience with a Brisbane UltraTune dealer.
  7. Headers are going to change the price a fair bit. Genie/Pacemaker/Hurricane don't make anything for the 2az. You'd have to get your hands on a set of 2az headers from the US and ship them here; unless you're willing to have a set made up.
  8. In the engine bay on the left hand side (under the VIN plate area) there is a rubber cone/dome that has a tube coming out of it. You can cut a hole/slit in it and run the cable through it. The cable will feed behind the glovebox.
  9. Maybe he's confused with a Canary? Welcome to the club; hopefully your door issue is the handle thing I was talking about!
  10. My money is on the handle end is broken. The plastic receptacle on the back of the handle assembly is broken where the ball end of the cable sits. A genuine handle assembly from memory is around $30. Easily replaced, it just pops out of the door card
  11. *shrugs* If what i have contributed aol far isn't worth a star... Gotta work harder for it! ;)
  12. That's a lazy attitude you have there Trent. you're not being very helpful at all. ;)
  13. Reduced earnings (still in the black) primarily due to Acts of God and a strong currency, both of which the company has no control over. Doesn't seem like much of a worry to me
  14. What a pain. I forwent giving the Lexus a once-over because it could have rained. Not a drop the moment I left work @ 2pm.
  15. http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_2007_TOYOTA_AURION_GSV40R-JETSKQ_1106.3.html?hl=11328 According to this there is a gasket. Eventually as the gasket begins to perish you will lose more fluid at a quicker rate (as the 'spring' in the gasket is no longer sealing the plate to the mount) and you'll have a timing chain with inappropriate fluid levels. I'd enquire to see how much it would cost to replace.
  16. My mum's Lexus gs460 has them as well. I've always wondered what they are for as they visually stick out and ruin the flow of the car. edit: Massive english fail.
  17. Injector cleaners can only do so much but Fuel Doctor seems to work well. Using the stuff isn't rocket science; just add a bottle to a tank of fuel and drive it. I've recently paid for a on-car fuel injector clean which involved them disconnecting the fuel line and running a device that contains some serious injector cleaning fluid directly to the engine. Time will tell how much of a difference it will make
  18. Did some work on the Camry again, used an array of products to achieve the best results possible without using the more... 'elitist' products: - Meguiars Aggressive detailing clay - Meguiars Medium Cut Polish (1 pass) - Meguiars Fine Cut Polish (1 pass) - AutoGlym Super Resin Polish (2 passes) - Menzerna SWPROTECT Sealant/Wax (1 pass) - Mothers Step 2 Sealer + Glaze (Pre-2012 product; no abrasives) (1 pass) - Meguiars M26 Liquid Wax (1 pass) The heavier scratches still remain (however are faint) if you look closely, but the combination of the AutoGlym/SWPROTECT/Mothers Step 2 managed to finely polish the surface and increase the paint depth to such a degree where they are difficult to see. Another thing was to test the mixing of various products but it has not seemed to affect the appearance/feel of the finish at all.
