  1. Hmm... Thanks for that. I'll look lower! I THINK you can see it in the very bottom left hand corner of that photo. EDIT nah that's the heater tap, sorry Easiest way to find it is to trace the fuel lines from the fuel rail.

    Timing Belt

Might help if you said 4-cylinder (5SFE) or V6 (3VZFE). Either way, you should get a Gregorys manual, no doubt it'll go through the exact steps needed to change the timing belt, very handy things to have if you intend on doing anything DIY on your car.
  3. I laid an equally original and just as good looking design in the toilet bowl about half an hour ago... Yeah, but did you have the ability to sell it for a lot of money :P If I said it looked like Jesus I probably could....
  4. It'll be a resonator for the intake. Like how you can make a note by blowing across the top of an empty bottle, the resonator makes a note when the air in the intake blows across the neck. The bottle size is tuned so that this note is the same as the resonant sound of the intake, and being 180 degrees out of phase it cancels out the sound. Removing it will make the intake noiser, but won't improve flow to any measurable degree (there's no through-flow, and it doesn't really disrupt flow either)
  5. Bonnets are fairly flexible, can you see the dent from under the bonnet? Tried popping them out that way?
  6. keeping the oil but got oil filter changed back to Toyota one, I feel a little bit better however engine noise is still louder than before. Thanks Butt-dyno most often doesn't translate into anything actually changed with the engine. You're only hearing and feeling things because your brain is expecting a change - good old placebo effect.
  7. 'Bout time Sydney people actually have to drive somewhere for a cruise :P Just about every cruise I go on needs a two hour drive just to get to the meet point.
  8. Would be great if Nandos actually existed up here...
  9. They won't fit ZREs if the OP stated that they were modified 5x100, unless the 5x114.3 pattern was kept as well.
  10. 46mpg plays 21mpg Well it is sorta laughable... because the model T's 21mpg is equivalent to roughly 11 L per 100km. Which is the current norm for falcons and commodores. <_< The prius, on the other hand, works out at about 5 L per 100km. Sure the prius (and those 'other' cars) has air-con, electric seats, sunroof, etc - but considering all the other automotive advancements in the last century, we haven't come that far with fuel effeciency. But consider that the 500kg Model T puttered around with a top speed of 60-odd km/h from a 2.9L 4 cylinder engine putting out 15kw. We get more than 3 times the power out of an engine a third of the capacity in a car twice the weight, or 10-15 times the power out of the same capacity in a car 3 times the weight, and travelling at more than twice the speed. Absolutely, fuel consumption hasn't changed much. Fuel efficiency has, however, majorly.
  11. New 911 isn't fuel efficient enough for you? Tesla roadster? Lotus Elise/Exige (fuel consumption of a Corolla, power-to-weight of a Porsche)?

At the end of the day though, modding cars gives you something tangible to show for your efforts. WoW gives you a fuzzy feeling inside (withdrawal symptoms), and some numbers on a screen. I know which I'd prefer. Not that I'm against computer gaming, but as a recreation, not as something as time- and money-consuming as WoW (I get just as much enjoyment for a lot less time and money playing other games)
  13. Why replace? What's wrong with the current one?
  14. I laid an equally original and just as good looking design in the toilet bowl about half an hour ago...
  15. Legacy = Liberty. Most likely it's just a test-mule running a shortened Liberty body/chassis. And that rendering is butt-ugly, looks like it telescopes in to fit into tight carparks..
  16. Maybe someone shot him for making the abomination that is the C8 Laviolette (it's a good car, just looks seven shades of butt-ugly) That could drive anyone to murder...
  17. 5x100 = FWD Celica, SV21 Camry if me noggin works properly.
  18. Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower Damn the Watchmen soundtrack kicks *****
  19. Was the noise on constantly or only when the air-con was turned on? If it's constant then you know it's the pulley itself, if it comes and goes with the operation of the compressor, then it's either the clutch or something internal.
  20. Mine are still pretty good at 305,000km, the fronts make a slight hissing noise (like a gas-lift office chair) when going over speed bumps at low speed, but apart from that they're still soldiering on like the real trooper that the car is.
  21. This one? Saw it at Autosalon
  22. I'd be guessing you just swap the consoles over, shouldn't be too hard (although in saying that, to get to the front part of the centre console in my AE102 requires taking the entire lower dash out, but it's just screws and clips, nothing fiddly)
  23. Is it a refrigerated/cooled glovebox? Quite a few Jap luxury models had stuff like that.
  24. Easter long weekend is Toyota Nationals anyway :P
