Why is it same one or two people post but many readers log on...

is there any life out there...

I don't care, but why, what is the reason??

allthough i notice some isolated topics draw attention...

are readers only interested in petrol consumption... is it a money matters thing??

if so, then we can frame posts around popular topics, and have more ppl join in...

with Toyota ownership just a common side issue...

eg: I know how you can have free rego, anyone interested??

I will post a response to this my querie later.

:lol::toast:

um this used to be a fun place. till people stopped posting in the more layed back easy going threads

i think people have just been to busy to bother posting. i know i log in once a day to skim through the buy and sell making sure we don't have spammers out there. but between working 5 days and taking care of 4 kids and 2 dogs in between i don't have time to sit and read through every topic if it don't sound interesting.

topics and questions that keep getting repeated will either be deleted or merged with the previous threads of the same thing. important topics only are pinned so they remain on top.

we have our monthly meets which are a great place to have a real conversation about real things without any one getting their head snapped off. hehehe

oh and did i mention we like to cruise and eat :D [plug]

did u have any more questions i'll try to be of as much help as i can be

from michelle :D

Please see the now revived thread in the Club Lounge: "this place has gone to the hole..."

This place does need some life breathed back into it, and this debate has been raging for a while. While they stick their heads in every now and again, most of the old crew, I think, have given up and are pursuing new ventures.

Also some people just post once to sell and then disappear  as mm has said people do have busy lifestyles and just dont get the time to look at all the threads

i used to own a vl turbo. I spent hours and hours on www.calaisturbo.com.au and found that absolutely hundreds of others did also - admittedly there are quite a lot of idiots on there, but also a hell of a lot of smart people including mechanics, retrimmers, spray painters, suspension specialists, engine builders etc etc. So it's got nothing to do with whether or not people have busy lifestyles. If you want it bad you'll log on 20 times a day.

I put the difference between that site and this Camry section down to:

A. You can't really mod a camry B. Camry's don't appeal to kids. C. Camry's don't break down.

the corolla forum is where all the action is ;)

this forum has more rolla drivers than cam drivers....thts probably why this part of the forum is dead most of the time

I wish more people were as passionate about their Camry's as I am, I dont fully understand why its not the case as they are such innoffensive, well-built, reliable cars. I presume its the Australian physche that says regardless of how poorly built a car is, if its a Ford (USA) or Holden (USA) its simply better. Apart from the better seats in my VX Calais (80k) I LOVE and prefer to drive my V6 Camry (260k) with Sunroof, CD stacker etc, silky smooth. Even though its old now it feels so solid, gives me a sense of "I know it will get me where I want to go" The VX by comparison is "clunky", "rattley" just feels poorly built throughout (and had major failures such as power steering pump and other things), my fathers 05 BA ute by comparison feels like a truck and a generation or two older, in terms of refinement my mums 02 TJ with half the mileage feels "loose" "rattley" just doesnt have the quality feel. Is it because these cars are just so damn good and again inoffensive that they are just overlooked? I must admit, compared to previous cars (Non Toyota's) and my VX the car can be boring simply because it never breaks down or causes any dramas at all. It seems indicative of the kind of car they are that I and others have recently posted such a minor issue (although annoying) as a blown light on the Stereo Display on this forum. Look at other Australian made car blogs and they are talking about common and catastrophic mechanical failures (Falcon and Commodore). I like to look at the American blogs where they have a love affair with Camry (and other Toyota's) and are brave enough to acknowledge that US produced cars are simply garbage in a lot of cases (I can vouch for that with the 99 Dodge Intrepid rental I drove around west coast that was falling to pieces). I hope more Camry owners start to participate in this forum.

There was a guy in Canberra who owned a '95 Vienta. The car has disappeared now, however it was rather unique.

It was metallic gold, a big kit on it etc. I didn't think that much of it. Until I discovered that he had reworked the entire car. The V6 quad cam had some form of a jdm turbo kit on it, coupled with an lsd etc.

To this day I vowed I would defend Camrys like a dog before it's master because of this fact. He earnt respect. This car was definetly no slug, and very unique.

He reminded me of Bill (xoom) a little. Why be a sheep, when you can be a wolf.

Enjoyed your notes...

group cosiousness has a lot to do with how ppl act

old habits die hard... ford etc...

Toyota is an outcome of GEMBA KAYZAN... it is a design philosopy, google it for info

it can change your life if you want to grow fast...

and this is the MAGIC you feel in the Camry...

and why Toyota is king...

its kind of hard getting excited about the camry, my avalon is as dull as watching grass grow but i love her for being so darn reliable.

And engine so smooth...

Also camrys don't have any major problems, hence the lack of action.

Look at the camry's brother forum(aurion), almost every 2nd post is about problems.

My GTP Sportivo and I disagree with you about the watching grass grow thing.

And believe me you can mod the hell out of a Camry to get some more excitement out of it.

A few examples spring to mind... got boost.

Even the lesser amount of mod's done to mine get a lot of surprised reactions... she performs better than most would think.
