Hey guys if you've seen my other thread then you'll know that the the stivo will be up for sale soon.

This is my new ride:

2005 Mazda MX-5 SE (NB8B)

Mods when I bought it:

Engine:

- AEM intake

- SMB turbo back exhaust with custom Varex muffler

- Upgraded FMIC with stainless piping

- GFB 100% plumb-back BOV

- HKS EVC boost controller

Suspension:

- MX5 Plus twin hoop roll bar powdercoated in black

- King Spring Lows on factory Bilstein shocks

- Upgraded front and rear sway bars (unsure of brand but they are red lol)

Audio:

- Custom sub install in boot with 8" Alpine Type S sub done by Phatt Audio Concept (PAC).

- Boston Acoustic splits

- JL Audio 4Ch amp

- Alpine HU

The mods I have added:

- LED bulbs

- 4300K HIDs

- 16x8, ET38 Volk Racing GR-C Pro in gloss black with 205/45/R16 Hankook Ventus RS2s all round (were meant for my stivo hence the offset)

I've had this car now for maybe 5 weeks and I absolutely love it. Better than the stivo in almost every way, except for the high revving nature B)

The car was last dynoed at least a year ago. It put out 135RWKW at 11PSI.

I currently have 360cc injectors sitting at home and still need an ECU as it is running so damn rich!

Anyways here's a few pics I took when I put the rims on...

the car needs +/- 0 offset wheels STAT!!!!!

beautiful MX5 mate

0 is a bit overkill..

I think that maybe offset round +20 will do me..

Posted (edited)

wow very nice! those wheels suit the mx5 more than the stivo imo. just the offset thats off. can that be changed? or new rims?

what does the stivo look like with mx5 wheels? haha

That's beautiful! The MX-5 is quite a fun car to drive, from what I've read in magazines.

Enjoy your new car! B)

Car has changed a little since I put up this..

Found out my wheels are actually a 16x7. So got some spacers.

-30mm bolt on spacers rear

-25mm bolt on spacers front.

The HKS EVC was acting up so I replaced it with a Turbosmart manual boost tee and a 52mm Autometer Ultralite II mech boost gauge and removed a bunch of vacuum lines at the same time.

Replaced my roll bar with a Mazdaspeed NR-A 6 point cage with harness bar.

I also made a fiberglass sub enclosure that utilised the spare wheel well. So I have normal boot space. Win!

Other minor things added:

-Oil catch can and factory front strut removed (will be replaced later)

-Engine torque damper

-NoPro washer bottle relocation kit

-Yoshi!

An ECU is on the cards as I have some GTX injectors laying around. Just need some more dosh

Some photos I took recently:

Been a while since an update.

Not too much has happened.

I remounted my HID ballasts so they are out of the way:

And while the bumper was off I yellowed my foggies JDM spec yo! :P

Then I managed to get my hands on a relatively new Sparco Sprint V! :toast: For those who have been in MX5s, the seats aren't the most comfy, nor supportive in the twisties.

End result is a much more comfortable seat that sits me lower. Best part is that it bolts to the stock rails with very minor modifications.

Now just some happy snaps! :yahoo:

Thanks John. I'm actually contemplating selling these rims and getting something else. Something in the vicinity of 15x8, +0 offset :whistling: Although I'll probably just wait till the tyres are shagged.
