Eah dealer/speciality workshop is different, so I'm not going to make a generalisation here. Basically all I will say is just because a particular shop has all the required equipment to do a job, it doesn't necessarily mean the job will be done perfectly. I've had many wheel alignments/balances done, and from my experience, some shops come out with better results than others. For example, I've had some alignment + balance issues in the past and had taken it to two different places with no solid results. Took it to another shop which my old man recommended, and the problems were fixed perfectly. It's all a personal thing at the end of the day. It just so happens that dealers have a higher reputation for doing a crappier alignment etc. On top of that, getting an alignment outside of Toyota not only gives better results for me, but even works out more cost efficient.

If you want to' emulate' the TRD, then the obvious answer is.. surprise surprise, TRD Aurion springs and shocks. But as was said by Adamsy, you would be better off with a set of coilovers for just a little extra. Even at trade price, getting the TRD Aurion springs and shock will work out for the same amount as a set of BC Racing coilovers, and for a bit extra (which would be worth it) you can then get some Pedders coilovers. Getting coilovers will give you better customisability so you can either lower your Aurion as much as the TRD, or lower than what King springs or Pedders springs alone can do. You can also then adjust the shocks to give you far better control than stock (which is no control). Tires are a personal thing. I won't go into that topic.

Well I guess s*** happens mate. Time to learn a lesson and move on. I would be more than certain that this once valid loophole has now been solidly closed ever since discussion of it occured. This loophole was mentioned on ACA or TT some time back, and after that, I would be definitely sure that it no longer happens. Up to you mate. Personally, in a situation like this where you know the option to choose letter is going to be on it's way, I'd be aiming to get it over and done with as quick as possible. For me, that would mean paying the fine ASAP so you can start counting the days till you get your licence back. If you can trust yourself enough, take the 1 year GDB. You learn quite a valuable lesson from it, but that said, the suspension teaches you a hard lesson as well. If you can manage to go without a car for the suspension length though and/or you can't trust that you will change, then the suspension would probably be your better option.

Any time I have dealt with any form of induction, this has been coupled with crappier fuel consumption. But it's more due to the increased desire to hear it more. If you do drive it sedately though, it is more than possible to get better fuel economy but that said, it can vary depending on the engine etc.

As you said.... it depends on the driving. For some of us, if you chose to service every 5000km, that would mean a service every month :P.

I will just re-quote what I have said before to keep it simple. Just replace any reference to 'Aurion' with 'Camry': You would think that would be the case, but believe it or not, that's what they can charge for their time, etc. If you choose to have someone service it for you, you have to be prepared to pay extra for it.

Hot damn that makes me feel funny down there. I am somewhat tempted to take a day off to 'borrow' that pipe off you to test it on the TRD to see if I get any errors. Then if it works well, get an exhaust shop to replicate it for me (or even you if you are willing to earn some dough).

The Aurion makes all kinds of ticking noises. The one you describe is nothing to worry about. There is also another one (not sure if you are referring to this one in the first place), but if you start the engine from cold and the revs go high (like above 1500RPM), pay close attention to the tacho. You will notice the needle dropping in fine increments over the next 30 seconds or so (usually about one needle width every few seconds), and on each drop of the needle, you will notice a tick sound.

You can do whatever you want as long as you choose wheels with a 5x114.3 stud pattern with an offset around +45mm and no more than 8.5-9 inches wide. Have a search through the Aurion Forums for some ideas.

Yes, all you have to do is change the lamps. Slimline ballasts don't make any difference except for mounting due to being a different size and all. Operation is pretty much the same.

I personally don't recommend it due to glare related issues. Sure enough people say they will turn it off etc when there are other cars around... but seriously, how many do you think would actually do that? If you live out in the country etc and will only use them accordingly when no others are around, then go for it. But if you are going to be an idiot and drive with them on around other cars, then do everyone a favour and just don't do it. Also, well aimed headlights and HID high beams would be more effective at giving your night time illumination because fog lights generally are aimed close to the front of your car which can reduce your distance viability believe it or not.

At least that's one good thing I like about QLD. It always seems like they are working to improve the roads here. And even when you come across a crappy road or one which doesn't have the infrastructure to support the traffic, you just have to think about how much better we have it than Sydney

Funny you mentioned this. I just received my rego renewal in the mail. I thought something was sus so I went to get my last renewal notice to confirm my suspicions. Turns out I was right in suspecting something different.... it is cheaper. Registration itself has gone up $10, but the CTP has dropped by $30, so an overall saving of $20. $788 for a year registration. Seems okay by me.

TRD wheels are: 19 inch diameter by 8 inch wide (19x8) with an offset of +46.5mm Tire specifications are 245/35R19. Yes you can fit TRD Aurion springs to standard Aurion shocks (either AT-X and it's variants, or Sportivo) but they will not function same as they would if you combined them with TRD Aurion shocks. That said, you probably wouldn't even tell the difference. That also said, you would be better off spending your money on King springs instead of TRD Aurion springs.

Toyota can adjust the sensitivity of the auto headlights between the following parameters. There is no set definition of the level of light/darkness required per given adjustment, so it's just trial and error really. The adjustment range is as follows: LIGHT 2 / LIGHT 1 / NORMAL / DARK 1 / DARK 2
