Haha I'm surprised my method is becoming more popular. Its the easiest way I think.

Kudos to and1 and jaderd. Why surprised and1? It is the easiest! :D I'll be doing this too

I'm surprised no one thought of it before me :P

This looks like fun, i noticed the spare bulb hole when i took my tail lights out casue they filled up with water. I might give this a go tomorrow :)

wtf how did you get water in there??? rain can't get inside thats for sure

yeah just remember, when u drill there will be rubbish going inside. I was stupid and blew on it thinking the plastic inside would blow out. Then i turned it over and it was all over the indcator, other bits of the tail light! :o had to use a vaccuum cleaner to get it out. still gotbits in there though :(

use the soldering iron to touch up around the edges. i used duct tape and blu tack to stick the holder there LOL

Ok i finaly got round to trying this today and it dosnt work. I dont know what im doing wrong but ive tried 4 times and it dosnt want to work.

the whole thing or just the add on lights?

i think for the face lift models there was something else that needed to be done (cross wiring or something) i believe and1's got it somewhere in this thread...

What do you mean by it doesn't work?

Have you connected the wire to the right circuit?

Have you had someone else step on the brakes while you were looking at the lights? Facelift inner lights only light up when you apply the brakes.

Hey,

Just read this topic, would be a really nice and cheap mod to do :D

But, I have got a question.

I have got a facelift rolla, and my parents have got a pre-facelift one.

I like the pre-facelift taillights more as JDM, so I've changed them.

I've got a facelift rolla with pre-facelift taillights.

As I've read, facelift ones are alot easier to mod, because of the socket that's already in the wiring harness.

For me it would be much easier to use that facelift wiring harness,

so would those fit into my pre-facelift taillights?

Grtz!

Well I tried it this evening, just tested abit with the wiring etc.

The braking thing works good, but I have another question...

I tried to connect them onto the park light wire also, but then the foglight shinas alot harder then the normal light?

I'm not that (car)electric expert ;)

Should i connect the foglight with the brake, and with the park light aswell?

Grtz

Disclaimer: The following is provided as a GUIDE ONLY, i will not take any responsibility for the outcomes of someone else doing the following. You follow these steps at your own risk!

Well u got the majority of it... the wiring..

I can help you if you're willing to drill and use screws [and1's method]

these pictures might help .. save them and zoom in for convenience....

[stole em from and1... hope u don't mind]

TIPS:

1. remove the buttony things shown in the pictures using a blade.

2. get a 3mm drill piece.. because thats how wide the buttony things are .. and get ur hands on 4....... 3mm width screws.

3. after this just find a way to tie the wire to the screw.. i used something called 'male blades' found at local bunnings store

4. the final thing is the fastner thing to hold in the male blade

AND ur done..

if ur confused abt the parts just take a look 2-3 posts up.

here's some visual aid
