HI all, couldn't find this with the search button.

Can people recommend me some places to get the soon to arrive stivo catback flanged and fitted on my car?

And remember, negtron the pov modder says cheap = good.

Somewhere near my office in Richmond would be good (i work near Ikea)

Oh and can u guys also recommend me a cheap place to fit springs on? Pedders nearby just asked for $220 to fit, and another $110 to balance.

How long does it take anyway? i was told they'd need the car for a day!

P.s Better yet, if any of the Melb ppl know how to do it DIY and can help that would be good, in exchange I can do electrical stuff for ur car!

Kcorro's changed his own springs so he know's how to DIY but he's o/seas at the moment.

You'd always have to get the 4 wheel wheel alignment though.

My springs were fitted for $300, which included 4 wheel alignment and balancing. It took almost 5 hours...

Edit: This also included fitment and adjustment of Whiteline front camber kit.

Also, work was performed by the Mag Wheel Centre, which might be pricey but are the only RAA-approved Wheel Alignment specialists in SA, acknowledging their awesome expertise and workmanship.

Any exhaust place will flange and fit the exhaust, just ring around.

My springs were installed for $150 and I payed for an alignment once they had settled a little (fitting was done in about 1.5 hours).

Don't bother paying for a 4 wheel alignment as you can only change the alignment of the fronts anyway. Front wheel alignment should cost you $30-40.

yeah

ttf sunshine charges $65 for all 4 wheel alignment

or $45 for just front

they are a bit pricey since they are a big company

find some smaller places

could do them cheaper

A more realistic explanation of the cost for the shop would be $200 for the springs (they're less than $100/pair at trade price new from kings) and $220 for their labour to fit them... What they put on the receipt to show the customer is another story.

probably

either that or the jibbed me for the springs

coz they charge $70/h for labour in general

70x4 = $280

so my springs would have been about 420-280 = $140? no way..

maybe they charged less for labour

but when i got my muffler fitted there it was $70 and was done within an hour

did you wait the full 4 hours while they did the springs?

We do them in a bit under an hour for all 4 including the dismantling and reassembling of the rear interior which is a PIA. And we dont have FULL workshop facilities available, if we had a hoist and a proper wall mounted spring compressor like proper workshops it would take about 20 mins less.

Azza is going to post a DIY on fitting springs. He took heaps and heaps of piccy's when i did his springs which took just under 2 hours without a hoist!! And with him getting in the road to get the right photographic angle  So if they are telling you 4 hours to fit and do W/A go else where. Wheels alignment only takes about 25 minutes from my experiences. :D

SO AZZA HURRY UP AND POST UP YOUR PICS AND DIRECTIONS :P :P

i would do it for you but i am not there sorry.

kings have come down in price and i found a place for $200 per set.

wheel alignment go to donellans as they understand the rear is fixed so they only charge $30. check that the steering wheel is centered when you get the car back.

if you get a package for springs/installation/alignment find out if you can do the wheel alignment a week later because you would want the springs to settle before aligning it.

lowest price i have seen for installation where you supply your own springs is $150 for all corners. enquire with strutfit in dandenong, suspension city on elizabeth street.

the shops can do it in 30 mins. what takes up time is removing the boot trims which you could do yourself at home.

nah i didnt wait

they just said leave your car here and we'll do it

they had about 3-4 cars in the garage

so mine was in line i guess

but all done in 4hours

Posted
I got my Pedders for $400 inclusive of fitting.

Kings $340 inc. fitting.

me and big bums did it at suspension city in north melbourne .. $340 .. he'll say $360 fitted .. just say the corolla boys have said u do it for $340

takes about 1hr -1nhalf.

I got my springs fitted by one of the Techs at work for a slab of Coopers  :D

shoudl take less than an hour if they have hoist and compressor clamp

Posted

It should only cost about $120ish for a pair of springs so about $240 in total, and fitting should take about one 1/2 hr. Installation should cost about $100-140.

2 X 120 = 240 + labour = at least 300+
