  1. I was quoted $635 the other day for 90K, I really shoulda got that in writing tho...
  2. i was thinking about going stiffer than that, just depends what i can getSo was I but I haven't been able to find anything stiffer than 8/4.5KG. So may have to get custom springs made up, but happy hunting!
  3. Hey Sonia, re: Alpine unit from the states. Can you buy it from there and pay for an update to AUS maps? Not sure if it's possible but might save you a bit of cash still in the end?
  4. They come standard as 6KG front and 3KG rear. You can get 8 and 4.5 as I've been told. Standard springs should be fine unless you've got overly big/wide wheels. Settings = personal preference but also think about getting a front strut bar & thicker rear sway bar. Search on the forums for these, there's loads of info. These 2 items on their own will help the car handle heaps better (just goes where you point it) but combined with a lower ride height and stiffer springs you'll be on your way. There's also a really good review of the BCs on here somewhere else but just search through, if I can find the link I'll put it up for you. Have a look at these: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/17039-ultra-racing-strut-bar/ http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/19549-coilover-try-out/
  5. Aiden I've emailed JustJap to see about the cost of those 8KG/4.5KG springs on their own. Will let you know what they say as I am already on the hunt for stiffer springs for them.
  6. Nope, change the parker globes first if you want to start at the top lol.
  7. Ok so the link seems to be working now. Check this one out for some inspiration. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/41822-2013-aurion-rear-diffuser/
  8. If you go to 55W you may start blinding other road users. You would have to look at 2 cars side by side with 35W & 55W to really see the difference, 35W is plenty bright for myself and most others it would seem on this forum. Are you specifically after white light or just more powerful? 4300K Vs 6000K is yellowish Vs white, however to higher you go, the less effective it can be. People have stated 6000K, 8000K is not as effective in the rain as 4300K. I believe OEM colour to be around 3000/3800K depending on car? obviously why OEM colour works in more situations. Cheaper kits may work well/may not. Cheap LEDs from hongkong don't matter if they fail in your map lights etc, if they fail in your headlights though... Up to you. Another thing to bear in mind, when you put these in you may dazzle other drivers anyway and need to adjust the angle downwards/lower your car :P Anyway, just my opinions, I run 35W 6500K and love it.
  9. It is my understanding that all HIDs retro-fitted in this fashion are illegal. So more comes down to how bright & colour you want to go before you get pulled up. 35W will do the job fine, 55W are brighter yes but up to you. Colour-wise 4300K = more yellow looking 6000K = white 8000+K = blueish
  10. Good to hear you'll be among the living again soon Lee!
  11. Have a run through this: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/18209-headlight-adjusting/
  12. Well you've done well to rack up 300K+ already!!
  13. If you can't get the US ones to work for you there's always the possibility of vinyl-wrapping the pieces. That way you also get to choose exactly what sort of finish/design you want.
  14. Yep, great day out with a huge variety of cars. Great to finally put some faces to names too! Cheers to everyone said hello and here's to many more! :)
  15. Anyone got any tips on best practice for using touch up paint? I just want to fix up some of the tiny nicks and bits accumulated over the years. I have the proper paint from Toyota, they were just very vague on details for applying it. Trying to steer me down the path of using their people for the job (with a very rough ballpark price lol). As simple as the job sounds Im just looking for help on prepping the area or coating after the job is done, or anything else people have come across. Thanks in advance!
  16. There for sure! What time you boys looking to get there Chris? A sharp 9am start?
  17. Not bad Ryan, takes the sting out a little.
  18. Insurance will always try to find a way to not pay you out so yes, be wary and look into what you want to do first an ask your insurance. Totally agree with VipZr6, stretched tires would be an easy out for them I would think. Just depends how far you want to take your hobby and what you are comfortable with.
  19. What's your definition of safe lol? I haven't had any dramas whatsoever. Car holds to the road way better than stock. Yeah it's bumpy but it's a low profile on stiff coilovers. But your original question, did you have anything in particular you were concerned about? Is it legal, I would say hell no, they're just too wide.
  20. Wheel Brand/Design: Advan Racing RG-D Wheel size: 19" Wheel width: 8.5" & 9.5" Wheel offset: +25mm Tire size: 225/35/19 & 235/35/19 Suspension type: BC BR Coilovers Feedback: Scrubbed heaps on the king springs, put in the BCs and with rolling, flaring and praying only scrubs on large bumps.
  21. Don't remember the profile off the top of my head but 225 at the front and 235 at the rear. Rears are stretched obviously.
  22. 8.5 you should be fine, I have 19x8.5+25 on the front and no dramas, its the 19x9.5+25 that's been fun at the back...
  23. Nice photo Chris! I really like that one.
