  1. I had a chuckle Bigmike lol.. Where was the spare ? Glovebox ? The seller didn't hand it to you ?
  2. I'd spend my money on the handling dept instead. You can spend thousands and only get a few extra KW. What for ?? The Aurion isn't really the type of car to do performance mods too, but it's up to you. I reckon it's got enough power already (200 Kw not enough ?) Don't forget that it's still a front wheel drive car and any "performance gain" with have adverse effects on the drive train.
  3. Have you tried contacting the dealer spares dept ? I find them to be quite helpful, especially with part numbers. If it's hard to explain over the phone, I'd drive over to Toyota and show them.
  4. Forget Tom Tom mate.. Out of date technology and they still want you to pay for it lol.. I stopped using my Tom Tom years ago. I still keep it with me as a back up in case the phone dies. Google Maps is the best and it's free ! I can't offer any info on the pairing I'm sorry as I don't remember. I did ages ago to pair my wife's phone as she daily drives it. As for the stock head unit. They are rubbish. Mine had a CD stuck in it (had to remove the head unit and open the CD player up to retrieve it. Painful).. The touch screen is crap. My "source" tab stopped working no matter how I touch it. AArrgggg !! I'm thinking to get another stock one to replace it, but I can find better ways to spend $200. It's stuck on FM so that's ok. My young fella and his mum like WS FM so I'll leave it.
  5. Technology especially all this digital stuff can be fickle. I can't see why the S7 won't comply and the S10 does. Sometimes it's the Bluetooth protocols not being compatible too as they keep changing them with the newer models. I think my wife has an S7 too. I'll find out ( at work right now) and get back to you, because her phone works in our Aurion.
  6. ATX wheel / tyre combo might actually deliver a more comfortable ride but the tyre profile for the 16" combo may look odd on a Sportivo. Personal choice I guess.
  7. Yes, I agree on the price. Not a greedy garage. I'd be careful of having it "flushed" as opposed to a drain and re fill. Flushing the transmission 'can' cause issues down the track. I always loved the 40 series Presara, especially in white. Best colour for it I think. It was a toss up between a 40 series Presara or the newer (at the time) 50 series Prodigy. I got mine for a very decent price compared to most others and so the 50 it became and plan to keep it a long time. Take care of it. Thumbs up.
  8. Hi Jim and welcome aboard ! I'm guessing your TRD had aftermarket wheels when you purchased it or are they rashed to buggery ? I doubt you'll find what you're looking for through word of mouth so I'd do an online search, hitting up all the usual places like ebay, gumtree, and other classifieds. Because the TRD was a one off for Aurion, wheels may be scarce to come by unless one is being dismantled and even then you won't be guaranteed a nice, clean, rash free wheel/s Check local wreckers and ask them to keep an eye out too. Here's one I found. Better hurry !! https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/robina/miscellaneous-goods/toyota-trd-aurion-wheel-brand-new/1238075491 I came across these too. Not sure if there was a variant for TRD cars. Worth a look too. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/hampton-park/wheels-tyres-rims/17inch-new-toyota-genuine-wheels-in-box/1243692683
  9. I have several of these. Strong, Sturdy, and will last a lifetime. Well made product. https://www.bunnings.com.au/tactix-60l-heavy-duty-storage-box_p2583691 Also, if you don't already, get one of those rubber boot floor mats. Stuff will slide around over the felt paneling. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-Toyota-Aurion-and-Camry-Bootliner-Oct-2006-Oct-2011-PZQ20-33090/262581793784?epid=608280527&hash=item3d231833f8:g:Tw0AAOSwkABdcNCX
  10. What a nice find ! A white Presara with 70k on the clock. Nice Indeed. Give it a complete once over to ensure everything is in check. I doubt there's anything major needed. 100% on the ATF. I think I've left mine a bit too long but never too late. Let us know how you get along.
  11. Lol.. I always have a little chuckle when I read that part.. I'm getting ready to do my trans service and have already ordered the M6 x 12mm (Full Thread).
  12. I'm interested to see how you got on with this issue. I'm guessing it's been fixed by now. Was it low fluid ?
  13. All the globes you'll ever need. https://www.narva.com.au/search?q=48062&submit= https://www.narva.com.au/search?q=47532&submit= https://www.narva.com.au/search?q=47501&submit= https://www.narva.com.au/search?q=47534&submit= https://www.narva.com.au/search?q=47530&submit=
  14. It's such a shame they stopped the "Aurion" as a model. It has a nice ring about it. Ah well, a Camry it has to be into the foreseeable future.. Not that I plan to get rid of my Aurion. I'll keep it as long as humanly possible I reckon. What a great car !
  15. I usually look on ebay. There are many dismantlers who list on there. I've been lucky a couple of times. I agree, Brand New Genuine parts prices can be painful but I don't understand how a vendor can re sell OEM Original Toyota Parts cheaper than Toyota themselves. I checked Amayama and it seems they only cover 40 series Aurion/Camry. ( I know they have the same engine, just saying)
  16. Another good aspect of having an Aurion over a Camry is how fuel efficient the V6 can be. 4 Cyl cars will strain up hills and chew the fuel, whereas the V6 pulls effortlessly. I love the feel of the V6 all day over a 4 cyl. My wife drives ours mainly and she gets between 11 and 12 around town and she doesn't have the same right foot finesse as I do. When I drive it around town I can get into the 9's and on the freeway I've had it between the 6's and 7's, so yeah I can't see why you can't get 700 klm to a tank if driven sensibly and on highway. Don't forget also to keep tyres inflated to correct pressures to reduce rolling resistance. Every little bit helps lol.. Happy motoring everybody !!
  17. Hello all. Sorry for my absence.Been quite busy and after just having done my oil service at 115K, it is now necessary to undertake this transmission service. Not that it is shifting any different but I think I've prolonged it long enough. She still drives beautifully. I've gone through and re read all the posts here to get my head around all the info, making some notes along the way too. I'm just wondering about something though, and forgive me if I missed something, but say hypothetically, I remove 3lt of old fluid (new filter saturated and installed) then put 3lt of new fluid back in, would checking fluid level be necessary ? Is it also possible for excess fluid to drain if performing the fluid check (at the correct temp of course) even though 3 came out and 3 went back in ? Krigeroz also touched on something about raising the car then lowering it a few times to stimulate more fluid to come out. So instead of one drain of around 2.8lt, you can actually pull more "old" fluid out and hence improve the overall fluid integrity. I've noticed nobody else has attempted this or at least spoken about it. If it helps to pull more old fluid out then i'm all for it. Let me know your thoughts guys. Cheers Tony
  18. Typical mongrel dealer attitude. They know it's a problem and if they had a shred of decency, they'd do it for free. Money hungry grubs.
  19. I would hazard a guess that the design was pretty much to differentiate it from the Camry. Front and rear end styling not to mention the interior. I would say the Aurion was a High end Camry with a V6.
  20. The Aurion was definitely long overdue given the drab and predictable Avalon it replaced. Not to diminish the Avalon, my father had a 2000 model and It was a nice car to drive but looked very plain. He has since upgraded to a 2015 model Aurion and loves it. To those who were thinking that Toyota would also entertain RWD or even AWD on the "New aurion" were sadly mistaken.
  21. I came across this interesting article and thought to pass it on to inform those who are current owners or those looking to buy. https://www.whichcar.com.au/news/toyota-hilux-fortuner-and-prado-air-intake-system-fault
  22. It happens sometimes I guess where the mechanic ( or should I say Technician...) wasn't paying attention during service and may have not put something back right. I'd contact the service department as the work should have warranty. Only deal is you have to waste more of your time...
  23. So they seriously think we'd buy a Toyota because he's driving them ?
  24. It's essentially the same car with different make up on.
  25. I agree with you Ash. The best fuel saving measure is sensible driving. I think it was the O.P's attempt at levity.
