  1. You should look into having a cylinder leakdown test conducted.
  2. That item is not genuine. The number is, but not the item.
  3. Did you replace any of the seals/o-rings? A handful of those in the past, who haven't, have had issues with hard starting.
  4. Probably has worn or missing felt guides. Inspect and replace as necessary.
  5. There were a couple of lunatics a few years ago that implemented one, but there was a lot of stuffing around in the process. Toyota obviously didn't want people turning it off accidently and putting unmetered power to the wheels unless it was intentional.
  6. There's the problem, they need to breathe or condensation builds up. This speeds up corrosion of the bulb carriers and wiring.
  7. It's definitely a Roo Cuss Hatchback...
  8. The fuel tank will always read under what the gauge says. It is a failsafe for those who love to run their tank right down. It is also a bad idea to continuously run off the bottom of the tank as it prematurely wears out the electric pump due to heat(fuel cools the pump).
  9. They are usually pretty strong. The question should probably be: "Am I doing something wrong?" Is it stock? What is the condition of the clutch? How harsh is your driving style?
  10. They are the other wires for the master actuator. Used to trigger the locking module once the key is turned in the door.
  11. Well...this is mostly true. There were and still are Avalons fitted with the 2GR; however, they weren't Australian delivered. This was also a well maintained 2GR.
  12. Bin the head unit and put one in with decent navigation. It will probably not cost that much more than the CD will from Toyota.
  13. The biggest issue is it living/coming out and spooking you while driving.
  14. Toyota are very poor with map updates. New vehicles are being delivered with maps 2 years out of date and Toyota has no information on when they will be updated. The updates are also usually incredibly expensive. You may be better off selling your current unit and purchasing a Google Maps compatible one.
  15. The Toyota part number should be 52129-06922. You could purchase online from Amayama(they are legit, I have purchase many parts from them, all genuine). If you go to a dealer here, you should hopefully expect under $20, but it can't hurt to confirm. It will likely come unprepared.
  16. It all depends on the look you are after.
