Howdy guys as this is my first every post id like to start off with a Hi. =D

Sorry if i have to do this but i just love my car and yes this is a sort of brag post and because theres no brag section the only place to put it was in the corolla :P

I purchased my corolla in early february approx 8days b4 my bday =P so u could say it was my own birthday present. So how is that a brag -_- the brag comes soon. Its a sexy sleek black 2002 toyota corolla levin ohh by the way im only 19 and still on my P's down in melb :lol: now you all wonder why this is brag and watever i just said up top is just lame and worth nothing to brag about but, here it comes, you all wonder what i purchased it 4?..... wait for it.... wait for it..... i purchased it for roughly 13k.... NO you dont see 23k its 13k =D for a 19 year old im pretty wrapped about my find. So i now further persist on with my current brag, i purchased it from fowles auction group in altona north. It had a slightly dented left front quarter panel and negative 2 airbags and i have been fixing it up ever since :rolleyes: and im forever wrapped about purchasing this car. I had the car checked out by 3 sources, my grandfather whose a mechanic and owns a garage, my dad whose a mechanic as well and has worked for toyota, and my uncle whose a toyota fanatic mechanic =D so i couldnt have gone wrong, i found a perfect BARGAIN! so yea =p just thought id share my pride and joy with you all.

from what i see the last owner was a pretty loaded person and he placed the car under wynn's assets or wateva that is, not to mention the extra's like the alarm, floor mats and my personal favourite, lexus is200/sportivo foot pedals. :D So to all those on the west side =D add another sexy Black levin. I cant wait to get some more money to mod this black beauty into a black beast :lol:

It doesnt matter wat model u drive as long as its a corolla

however preferably u all come to the dark side.... mwehahahhhahahahahhahaha

you ever heard of the Black Knights huh ? LOL , black is the no 1 color. Its represents wealth, power,strenth,agressivness and luxury. as for white = cheap easy to keep clean , red = wanna be ferrari , green = trying camaflage with the trees and blue its okay cause its only a few shades away from black ahhaa

Good on ya!!! Why would anybody want their car to be the nevy of thieves and teenagers that wanna play with themselves at the sight of it. :P

Can't say I have seen to many green cars trying to camolfage with trees other than the irresponsible 'P' platers that wrap their cars around the trees. (I AM NOT SAYING ALL 'P' PLATERS ARE IRRESPONSIBLE!!!!)

Black has the best resale value :) and lets face it ladies and gents, once you own black you fall in love with the car without wanting to, by constantly rubbing the interiour and cleaning it with a wet soapy sponge, rubbing it up and down and all over :blink::blink: at least once a week. Its like having a really hot girlfriend, everyone checks her out and envies that you own her, and you constanlty have to spend money to keep her maintained and well groomed.

      Fuel gauge wander

      Hi guys. I have a 2002 Toyota Coaster and have changed my fuel tank sender and when I drive the fuel gage needle moves up and down about 1/8th of a tank depending on if I am accelerating or decelerating. I can’t personally remember if it used to do this before I changed the faulty sender or not. Just today I removed the instrument cluster and changed out the caps on the two boards for the fuel/temp and the tachometer gauge sets and reinstalled but no difference. I checked the orientation of the sender, however it can only go in one way or the screws don’t line up. Not sure if this slosh wander of the gauge is normal for the Coaster as it doesn’t do it in my Hiace. Just wondering if anyone has some suggestions?

      gas smell when driving hard/takes long to start

      Update: issue came back but worse with rough idling / running a year or so ago. Mechanic diagnosed it as an air filter out of place and reset the codes - issue solved for good. Car is now at 380k and running stronger than ever !😊

      2012 Hilux with snorkel stopped after getting stuck in water

      Hi guys, my sons 2012 Hilux (diesel) engine stopped when he got stuck in a deep mudhole last night. I had a quick look after driving for about 130km with a car trailer to get his car and it has been immersed in muddy water over the top of the battery. The water level on the inside of the car apparently reached top of seat height before they managed to snatch it out of the water. The car has a snorkel, however, the engine stopped whilst the hilux was still immersed in the water up to its bonnet. What would have caused the engine to stop? Typically what would one expect to need to clean out, replace etc in order to sort this?

      FUEL WARNING MESSAGE

      Definitely can't get the pump out through the hole in the floor. The top of the pump has a larger diameter than the hole. 2nd pump has arrived from the wrecker. I will be removing the tank and installing it today.

I've spent a long time looking, but I haven't seen any videos or images where that mechanism has come out through the inspection hole - I really hope I've just been looking in the wrong place!       MWR Oil Pump

      Thanks for your response, I’m just hoping and praying that the oil pump will withstand the over-revving which is why I purchased the product. Also, I know very well about the flaws of the 2ZZ in regards to the oil pump and oil sump.

      MWR Oil Pump

      MWR are a reasonably respected name in the aftermarket 2ZZ business, they're not the cheapest (especially with shipping) but the products are usually solid. In this case though it is only the oil pump gear itself which is upgraded (as that was the issue with the stock ones), the housing is new/refurbed OEM Toyota/Aisin. FYI 4340 is the grade used, it's a high-tensile chrome-moly steel. I believe the stock ones are sintered (ie powdered steel pressed in to shape at high pressure/temperature), which contributes to their propensity to shattering (although I think it is much rarer than people are lead to believe, and usually as a result of over-revving via mis-shifting)

      Engine starts but won’t rev, only idles. 2002 Hilux 4d4

      I left my fridge on in car for five days and it completely ran the battery flat. I have replaced with new battery and engine starts but only idols cannot be revved at all. Any ideas?
