How crazy is your driveway?

Thought this would be an interesting thread. I know a few members here have some crazy hectic driveways that require some skillful angle to get up.

Let me show you mine and why i cant ever go too low.

My rear actually does go a little lower just before i drive up, i think i have about 20-30mm clearance last time i checked.

When I owned my Corolla, if I wasnt careful, the front would scrape. This was with a c/f front lip and 17's, no lowered suspenion. This was thanks to the tree which is lifting up the cement of my driveway, which the council STILL to this day hasn't done anything about. Ive basically got a speedhump on my driveway.

GRRRRR cant view those pics...

i'd prefer if people uploaded to imageshack/photobucket etc

i got one of those speedhump style gutter entrance onto my driveway, and my driveway is on a uphill!!!

when my car was lowered like in the pic below (wouldnt fit a cigarette box). i would scrape my front every single time, doesnt matter which angle i approach including reverse

but luckily, i've put stock front springs back on my car (rear springs are still lowered)

both my cars are standard height if you approach the wrong angle they scrape due to the angle of the driveway , if you drive up next to the house you cant get out cause the driveway isnt wide enough. If you want to park on the grass, if its raining, you cant get up cause its too steep, you end up going backwards.

My driveway is so crazy as it makes itself really slippery so that little kids from the school up the road slip on it when they are running; and you get stuck with a letter of demand threatening you with a lawsuit if you refuse.

i get spiders doing that to me too.

they spin the web from the trees to my car!

so i no longer park my car next to the trees, almost walked into the web once

another crazy driveway is one of the exits from parra parking.

the massive exit ramp from roof to the road. always scratch there ><

because of the ramp down and the road angled up

  • 5 months later...

i can get in my driveway with no worries, its not that steep,

but if i go in reverse and go out, this will happen, its the bottom bit the screws things up,

I would post mine as its almost as hectic as yours Jeff... but i dont want to stand on the road with half of my car as i live on the exit of a blind corner :/

Actually I should take a photo of a ramp thing that goes into my uni car park, its like a small cliff! I was scraping in my mums car when i drove it through there a few weeks... luckily the Corolla doesnt have any over hang ;)
