D2 Coilovers

Dead

Recommended Posts

Just after some opinions on them. I noticed there was an old thread on them led by Danz stating that they were (at the time) not officially produced for our corolla. Has this been rectified now Danz? They must slot straight in now because Brian is running them.

I'm about to buy this suckers next week so any opinions on them would be appreciated.

Cheers

Ps: No I do not want to spend more money and get DMS or Cusco's. I'll hardly see any track work as it is lol. And yes yes yes my kidneys are built for the bumpiness so that's ok too.

Speaking of Devil, u got that devil man and woman on your avatar and signature respectively.

Anyway, if you buy the 2nd generation one, its different to 1st generation one.

How much is D2 nowadays anyway? Why don't you go grab that one on sell forum?

Hahaha they're vampyres man, one of the most bad a55 demons I reckon.

$1850 odd brand new man. $1700 for me tho :D From BB's Garage.

Pretty sure these are 2nd gen as they're brand spanking.

Thanks guys but my dad was recently scarred by ebay. I'd rather pay the extra money and get it from a reputable distributor than run the chance of having my testicles ripped through my wallet. Plus I think those are different? Not too sure I'll have to look again. Those look different somehow.

Those are D2's for the AE92 and AE101 chassis too man. Thanks heaps for looking out though! I may end up trusting ebay later on when project AE86 takes flight and I'm looking for coilovers etc then. $35K to spend on an AE86 when the time comes lol. Oh well I need something to keep me going.

I know where there is a pretty nice '86 (Truero Shape) with a 1G-GTE transplant for sale. Looks VERY awesome and is well cared for if you are interested.

Cheers Dylan :D

I'm actually considering a full ground up rebuild (most likey levin AE86 [trueno/sprinter is collectors item, wouldn't want to do project on it]). I want to revisit the days when my father and I were freezing cold stripping the escort (our little track car) and putting it back to bare metal lol.

So basically, I'm considering a full strip out of everything and strengthening (via spot welding and foam spray) on the weak points of the chassis. Then adding the front/rear bars and side skirts (plus the flares) and having it resprayed (I still like metallic baby blue for some reason, + it'd be unique for that car). 15 or 16 in wheels (x7) 4 wheel disc conversion, coilovers, LSD, 5 speed celica box (hd clutch and flywheel etc), and a 'just nicely' worked silvertop 20V (maybe a mild turbo, but I'd want to drive this everyday lol). Black interior w. vinyl trimmings and reclinable buckets, refurbished dash/console and maybe a custom gauge cluster with red backlights (still love the sportivo instruments lol).

So yeah...that's my initial (no pun intended lol) plan. Sorry the thread has turned into an AE86 thread but *** love them lol.

They also sell the G4's

I'm in canberra. That's weird because I looked at JustJap's website at the time and that's where I got the $1850 price from <_<

http://www.justjap.com/parts_d24.htm

I know the ZZE122/123 isn't listed there, but still...every single coilover application is $1850 lol

Hahaha. Sorry mate I'll check JustJap tomorrow on the phone. Thus far I'm still adament that bb's garage still has the best price. I can't see D2's being that cheap brand new. I could be wrong tho...you never know.

Yeah, unfortunately D2 for Toyota is more expensive than for Honda. I was about to join a group buy over at OZHonda because you can grab a set for $1250 - until the seller founded out that for Toyota D2 is more expensive and I got quoted $1750.

This was last year.

So there you go people.

D2 for toyota is more expensive (I believe the other prices were most likey Honda or Nissan prices etc?).

BB's Garage at the moment is still officially the cheapest I can find @ $1700 (brand new mind you, street set).

The owner of BB's Garage is now running a set of streets (used to have track series) and he said they are just as good but better for everyday driving obviously. The D2's and G4's seem to be the sweet spot atm.

Thanks for looking out and helping guys!

Shao...make yourself more known in here! lol Many people miss you man.
